Freedom has its quirks: Bill making it a federal crime to support BDS sends shockwaves through progressive community US Politics Philip Weiss on July 20, 2017 95 Comments Adam Schiff, one of the supporters of bill making it a crime to support BDS There is only one story in the news, for followers of the Israel/Palestine conflict, and that is Glenn Greenwald and Ryan Grim’s report at the Intercept yesterday on new legislation in the Congress that would criminalize support for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS). Yes, criminalize.

Some strains of L&O Republicans can be quite unresonable at times, some have found refuge in Trump's GOP. On an unrelated side note, Nazi German "invincible military" and US "invincible military" are very different on many accounts. Hitler's all-conquering stormtroopers 'felt invincible because of crystal meth-style drug Pervitin' The methamphetamine-based drug Pervitin was manufactured from 1937 onwards by the Nazis and distributed among the armed forces Tony Paterson

To be fair, US was not alone and Saudi-Israeli financial/arms alliance (pre-ISIS phase) also played a major role in that great Jihad war against infidels. It was a win-win-win for all parties claiming to be "people of the book" except the Russian infidels... at least until 9/11 happened: - US got to stop communist expansion into Afghanistan - Israel got to move large number of Russian jews to Israel and occupied settlements on palestinian land (that OBL later claimed to be a factor behind 9/11) - Saudis got to exercise their Jihad/foreign fighters cultivation muscle and please their major oil customer all at the same time. OBL got to develop an army of Jihadeen militants that he would later put on the "road to peace" as The Independet reported at the time

Have not read the the whole article to be able to do justice in commenting on this. But one observation I would add that there is significant overlap in "support the cops" and "support the troops" sentiments within much of GOP as well as sizeable "blue-dog" hawkish segments among Dems sometimes charcterized as neocons. On a sidenote, read interesting freedom news about this police chief recently: "This is why homeland security must be squared away, why our military must be invincible," says Higgins, a former law enforcement officer who serves on the House Homeland Security Committee. "The world's a smaller place now than it was in World War II. The United States is more accessible to terror like this, horror like this. "It's hard to walk away from the gas chambers and ovens without a very sober feeling of commitment -- unwavering commitment -- to make damn sure that the United States of America is protected from the evils of the world." The video was posted Saturday (July 1) to YouTube channel of Lee Johnson Media, "A Conservative Podcast looking at America of Today!" It was first reported by Convenant Spotlight, a magazine that describes itself as "your resource for hope and direction through the Bible." Strange narrative: From Auschwitz, Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins has a message for America July 4, 2017 Just in time for Independence Day, U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-Port Barre, has a video message for America. But instead of visiting constituent cookouts, shooting off fireworks and waving the United States flag, Higgins delivers a stark dispatch from the Nazis' Auschwitz concentration camp at Oswiecim, Poland. "A great sense of dread comes over you in this place," Higgins says, leading the viewer on a five-minute, nine-second tour of the site, with a dirge-like solo violin playing in the background. "Man's inhumanity to man can be quite shocking."

Be interesting to see how Kushner and Ivanka Trump would react to these news. Reporting terms contrast is also bit interesting. Although BBC owners don't seem to be tied to so called "fakenews" US media that is under Trump attack lately, but the terminology and narratives in describing Israelis/Palestinians who were killed seem somewhat biased. They opted not to use "Palestinian children" but "Israeli civilians" got a yes vote from BBC editors/owners. During Gaza war coverage, BBC owners did not allow use of phrases like "Israeli assailant soldiers killed occupied Palestinian civilians in their homes by dropping massive bombs". Most probably just show of force. But in the unlikely case of hostilities that could put US shoppers' economic ties to Walmart/Amazon goods out of China at risk, would Trump send US military to defend our national economic/shopping interests?

Valid points. Though religious dogmas usually are not supposed to be governed by reason, there has been plenty of butchery by violent Islamists in places like Syria, Benghazi, Iraq etc. But India outisde war torn zones with history of being a pluralistic democratic society has to be judged by a higher standard. From some analysis in media, it seems this vigilante killings spree is a product of calculated campaigns to cultivate religious extremism for political purposes.

That's one interpretation but his loudest messages were anti Obama/anti media domestically, "America First" on foreign policy, tough on immigration.. with Obama being the "the First immigrant" without proper birther certificate. There was high disdain towards DGP among public and he was celever enough to convert that into his electability. Do you happen to agree with this controversial meme going around, seems like you agree with first part at least but do you agree with second part too:

Probably not. He is provided he changes his campaign communicaton strategy. In 2016 campaign, Rand like most was too soft on DGP & his PSMs (political slave masters)/media owners team and that allowed Trumpster to steal the show by positioning himself as the most vocal critic of DGP. After Trumpster successed in creating that image, he could shoot someone in Time Square and still win electon.

CUFI Leader John Hagee confirms Christian Zionism is anti-Semitic

Evangelical pastor John Hagee, the leader of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the US’ largest pro-Israel organization and the most powerful group in the Christian Zionist movement, has adamantly insisted that Christian Zionism is anti-Semitic.
