"Is the design of the US government flawed?"
If it is a necessary evil (it is not to the former, it is to the latter), why must it grow in size and scope with ever expanding voluminous laws and regulation? Can your Rulers, rule without the capability to rule harder. I propose a compromise, you have your state to police you, to defend their borders, to build their roads, but that legislature cannot pass legislation, that administration cannot issue executive orders, that the bureaucracy cannot create regulation. Should you balk at my proposal, I will offer one further concession. If you must have a state and that state must legislate, decree and regulate, at least make each and everyone of these law enactors, read each Bill aloud in public and in its entirety before they vote, sign and or stamp.
