For that time France made Haiti pay reparations after France lost. The U.S. also paid GM and Ford reparations for its treasonous factories being bombed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/daily/nov98/nazicars30.htm

Yep. I saw that Justice Thomas brought up Operation Mongoose and I posted about Justice Kavanaugh bringing up Obama's drone strikes. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?566552-Brett-Kavanaugh-invokes-Obama-drone-striking-Americans-in-Trump-immunity-oral-arugments I wish that meant they were ready to reign in presidential power across the board. But we all know that's not true.

Yeah...but you and I both know that the Clintons and the Trumps were friends. Also, Trump tried to at least investigate, if not prosecute, Joe Biden! Of course the difference is that Hillary didn't try to run again. And it's highly likely that Trump wouldn't have been prosecuted if he hadn't tried to run again. Also Biden's Burisma shenanigans were done when he was vice president. And the special prosecutor investigating Biden on mishandling classified documents came to the conclusion that Biden is too demented to prosecute. So....how again are you expecting Biden to ever be prosecuted....for anything? That's especially true if Trump is successfully prosecuted and if those prosecutions prevent him from becoming president. The only way Biden is ever prosecuted is via a Trump Whitehouse / justice department bent on revenge. Really I want Fauci prosecuted more than anybody but that's not likely either.

I brought this very argument up to a friend of mine when the story first broke that Trump's lawyer conceded that under his argument a president who ordered an assassination of a political enemy. But Obama ordered a drone strike of an American citizen, Anwar Al Awlawki, who didn't even get a trial in abstentia and was only arguably "guilty" or what normally would be considered first amendment protected speech. So....a Democratic or neocon Republican president, with the media industrial complex behind him, can declare a U.S. citizen, without a trial, an "enemy" and kill him, and his teenage son...and later his young daughter, with drone strikes with no transparency or accountability and it's okay because....reasons? Meanwhile Biden is trying to send a left wing black socialist to prison for basically the rest of his life for the "crimes" of saying that America is committing genocide against black people (wasn't that the point of Black Lives Matter?) and that our support of the Ukraine war effort is wrong because that's "Russian interference in our elections." Ummm....okay.

That didn't stop the House and Senate from attempting impeachment for things he did as president. LOL if you think that anybody is going to go after Biden for anything. When Joe Biden was no longer president he bragged on video that as vice president he withheld foreign aid in order to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired. It just so happens that prosecutor was investigating a company that just so happened to be paying Biden's crackhead son $80,000 a year for absolutely nothing. And when Trump tried to withhold aid to get Biden investigated....Trump got impeached. So pray tell how anybody will ever prosecute Joe Biden for anything he's ever done as president or vice president?

Oh come on. Let's all be honest here and admit the truth. Trump is a man with ZERO principals! None, nada, nothing. About the only thing he cares about is himself. He's willing to go against his "base" on the COVID vaccines because, frankly, he's proud of that "accomplishment." And when it comes to funding for Israel his "base" is split. LOL at SS for claiming that Lindsey Graham gave Trump credit for helping push this through to "hurt" Trump. Nope. It's to save Trump for the wrath of the Zionist faction of the Teocons and for Lindsey to pat himself on the back for saying "I told you so" to anyone who's been attacking Lindsey for being a warmonger. Lindsey doesn't hate Trump. He's come to Trump's defense on multiple occasions. Lindsey loves war and to the extent that Trump will go along with war mongering, Lindsey is happy to "forgive and forget" Trump not doing "shock and awe" on Iran after Iran shooting down a U.S. drone in exchange for Trump killing the Iran nuclear deal and an Iranian general who was in Iraq as a guest of our Iraqi allies. Lindsey is smarter than most in that he knows how to stroke egos. This was a win for the neocons but so was Rand Paul signing the Tom Cotton letter years ago. Only there have been far more moments like this for Trump than for Rand.

Interesting. So the only way Trump will not sign disastrous legislation is if he has a veto-proof majority?? Leaving aside the fantasy premise that he would actually be good if he had unchallenged power, you know that's NEVER going to happen right? So even in your own delusion, you need Trump and a veto-proof majority. Feels like you lost the script.

Well, to be somewhat fair... Trump's Presidency ended in 2019. 2020 began Trump's re-election campaign. And that's when the world lost its mind. Including his own administration. Trump is out there asking, "are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" The real question should be, "are you better off than you were 5 years ago?" On the whole, I'd probably give Trump a B- up until 2020. in 2020? F-!

That was me at my last job, except for the "get fired" part. I quit. And then the CEO and VP's started calling me trying to get me to reconsider. Sorry - you had your chance to listen. (My problems ran deeper than the compensation - it was the woke board, the bureaucratic incentives, their covid response, and of course, the pay) But I do recognize the value of NCA's... This decision is likely unconstitutional. I know an insurance salesman that is sweating this. That's an industry that requires relatively low skills or knowledge to start, but requires good geographic networking. He's got NCA's in place that prohibits his employees from opening a business within 5 miles of his location after a year of them leaving. 5 miles isn't much, but if they leave, they may take some of his clients with them. This new dictate will dramatically change how he hires new people. The fallout is going to be huge if this is allowed to stand. I get the other side, too. NCA's are often abused by employers. But this is throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Right?! Lol. Trump stole his position from the Democrats! That was in their party platform for decades! Buying special interest votes at the expense of everyone else - that's what they do. Of course, the right does it too, but the lines were drawn over which special interests would get favor from which party... Trump crossed the line.

I mean, you gotta see the pattern of Trump by now, right?? He'll do exactly what the machine wants. His base will defend him saying something like, "he had to do it to prevent something worse!" ("something worse" usually meaning something worse for Trump, himself.) His hopeful supporters will be disappointed, but at least it's not as bad as the other guy. Government grows. Liberty recedes. Wealth is stolen. And America waits for the next election. Which, of course, will be the "most important election of our lives".

I mean, I get your point, but the contracts are voluntary. You don't have to take the job. Or you can take the job, but refuse to sign the NCA - they may just decide to not hire you. Like every contract, they don't "cease to be voluntary" just because you don't feel like abiding by it any more. And yes, they are almost always time-limited - 6 months, 12 months, sometimes even 18 months. It's a protection for the employer for their investment in you. I signed a NCA when I took my current job. It doesn't bother me one bit. I just know that if/when I leave, I'll have to be sure that whatever company I go to next isn't covered in the agreement. With my past employer, they didn't have NCA's for employees, but they had non-competes written into the contracts of any company that did business with them. In other words, they restricted other consulting and contractor companies from poaching any of our employees and vice versa. I'm not clear if this new FTC rule prohibit those as well.

I agree. Even if most small businesses have their employees sign non-competes, the enforcement of them is pretty low. That being said, it is typical for salon workers, construction workers, plumbers, etc. to have non-competes. Their concern is training employees who end up starting their own competing business in the same geographic area after they gain a reputation. Usually, there's a time-limited period. But when the business start up costs are low, employers have to be wary of over-training their hires. Here's the other thing which will have to be worked out - when NCA's first started gaining traction, those employees got compensated at a higher rate because they had to sign the contract. So, will companies start hiring at lower wages since they can't be sure the employee will stay? This really feels like an unconstitutional step that will surely be challenged in court. The whole NCA process is often abused, but to say that a business isn't allowed to arrange contract terms like this with a potential employee seems like an overstep. I guess we'll see. One thing is for sure, this is HUGE and isn't getting the attention it deserves.

I wish things were a lot more local too. I'm really not looking for a country of 300 million at all. I think that's too big. Those who didn't want to live by Christian law could live somewhere else and choose God's judgment over his blessings.

  8. Sorry, but you have failed. That verse does not contain the words "Grace is irresistible." You can interpret it that way, but that's not what the verse says. You had to admit there was "relational language" in the Bible. Yet you have stuck to your guns that there isn't a verse that says "Have a relationship with Jesus." Likewise there is no verse that says "Grace is irresistible." If you were honest you would simply admit that. But you aren't honest.
