A freshman Republican lawmaker said Gov. Nathan Deal’s top aide warned him he would slash funding to his north Georgia district after he was the sole legislator in the House to vote against the governor’s budget proposal. State Rep. Matt Gurtler said Deal chief of staff Chris Riley “threatened” him at a Jan. 31 breakfast for first-term lawmakers at the Governor’s Mansion after he told Riley he voted against the spending plan because he opposed subsidies and government interference in the free market. Gurtler said Riley twice told him: “If you believe that then I will cut all funding to your district.” He said the exchange took place in front of more than a dozen other freshmen lawmakers. “I am appalled by Mr. Riley’s actions of intimidation and bullying tactics of an elected official,” he said. “His actions were wrong and unethical, and this type of behavior goes against our system of separation of powers.” State Rep. Matt Gurtler. State Rep. Matt Gurtler.

Banner day!!! Does anyone have an Ollies Army near their house? Well, I have one that's not too far and finally went in. I have a friend who has the most beautiful planters and she told me that's where she gets them. Anyway, I saw they had them in their flyer and decided to check them out. I scored! I also got some nice hummingbird feeders for 14.99 each. They're glass bottles and they have a perch. I like the one's with a perch. These are all heavy planters - no plastic crap. Please excuse my patio it's kinda dirty right now.:o I don't even want to know what these would cost at Lowes or Pikes. I bought a plastic one at Lowes about the size of the one in the last pic and it was 50.00. These two were 12.99 each. This one was 17.00

The individual states made a contract with each other (called the constitution) and that contract formed a new entity, the federal government. So the constitution does nothing, it's a piece of paper. But parties who joined said contract (the colonies and now 50 states) should be restraining the federal government. Just because the states don't restrain the federal government (or citizens retrain the states), doesn't turn the form of federal government from a constitutional republic into a democracy. It does, however, pervert the structure of the government and it also means we no longer have a true constitutional republic. As for your semantic comment, wouldn't you agree that it's a problem the public isn't taught exactly what type of federal government was formed? Im happy to concede the semantic debate with you but genuinely request you consider a little research about the possibly that a constitutional republic is a more specific verbiage describing the USA government - and maybe you'll consider using that term in the future. Cheers.

There's a lot in this piece... Russia will have completely paid off the 'debt' of the USSR this Spring for instance.. written off the debts of several countries... has plans to help struggling Brazilian oil... is considering defensive preparations for 'Iranian style' sanctions against Russia by the West including 'freezing of accounts & assets' using global banking cabal as a punishment tool. In preparation for the banking attack... Russia is pondering a COMPLETE EMBARGO of partnering with/co-mingling funds/assets of Russian STRATEGIC STATE COMPANIES with corporations, banks and/or companies

I'm right there with you, brother. Have to spread some rep around but I'll get ya. I finally realized that we get a lot of people who like to call themselves libertarian yet act completely opposite. And I make the mistake of calling them anarchists when they're actually globalists. The "Global Citizen" folks. Of course, thats just one thing. I don't really mind true anarchists who have actually thought things through a little bit and understand the pros with the cons of it. I can relate to them. But it's the Global Citizen types that like to blend in and purposefully confuse libertarianism from the perspective of the traditional American philosophy with their globalist philosophy. As if a foreign citizen can just come here as they please and enjoy all of the protected rights that our nation was founded by and that my ancestors spilled their guts for. I really want to call them out by name but I'll pass this morning. But anyway. Yeah. That's where I'm at, too.

If a private school becomes a charter school and takes vouchers, etc. then it must conform to state education regulations. If homeschoolers are forced into this, then they will also have to conform to said regulations. I was "unschooled"; my parents allowed me to follow my interests and because of that I became interested in everything from arts to science to history etc, etc, etc. NOBODY "learns" anything that is forced on them. They may burp it out and test well, but it will be soon be gone from memory.

Just out of curioisity, what exactly about "anarchism" do you disagree with? Mind you, I'm talking about philosophical anarcho-capitalism, not "anarchism" in the sense of no law and order of any kind. Were you using the term in the latter sense when you said you disagreed with it?

What distinction do you see between voluntarism and anarcho-capitalism, if any?

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Glen Bradley Webdomain Update 12/23

by GunnyFreedom on 12-23-2010 at 07:00 PM
We are working on a community network that enhances the services, duties, and abilities of a State Legislator to affect the will of his district into law.

By developing a community caucus and integrating it with physical town halls and events, a new level of transparency will be achieved that will hopefully lead America back into the 21st century of Freedom.

Your help is vital to this project. We will need volunteers and funding. This is technically a "campaign activity"

S.510 Food Safety LIVES!

by GunnyFreedom on 12-19-2010 at 09:19 PM
Beware! Using a procedural trick, the US Senate late Sunday night unanimously added the Food Safety Bill back into the new Continuing budget resolution. It returns to the House in the exact text they sent it for consideration and a vote.

So says Jamie Dupree.

A major food safety bill that had almost been given up for dead was suddenly revived in the Senate late on Sunday evening, and may be ready for House approval as early as Tuesday.

Glen Bradley Legislative Agenda Strategy 2.0
