I actually had a direct conversation with Raimondo on Twitter in the winter. I know Raimondo's direct line of thinking on this...so yeah thanks for the tip... He has no clue what he is talking about. Trumps people aren't "catching on". They will jump on anything spoon fed to them and 4 years later the "issues" Raimondo thinks Trump brought to light will go right back in the old memory hole.

And Raimondo didn't go ga ga over Bush the way he has for Trump. Very disappointed in him.

knew I could count on Spikender. Always has a good post on race relations. Folks. I'm no Island. and I think it's always good to test our preconceived ideas. That's all I was trying to encourage. This is one of those areas that I believe as most of you do, but I don't articulate the logical basis of it as well as others do. I'm not sure if people are aware of this new fangled logic that says that the minority oppressed can't be racists, but it sure threw me or a loop when I first heard it and had to figure out how to refute it. I think it is simply that these SJW are conflating racism with just general oppression of the strong over the weak by one collective measure. And I think they are worse off for it.

So I'll take a stab at it. Based off what Bryan said. Racism is just Racism. What this girl is talking about is Collective tyranny of the powerful over the weak. That can be accomplished by different means. Many times it has been accomplished by using shallow differences such as skin color, and cultural differences to invalidate others ability to wield social power and it's the rationale of the majority to wield control. But racism isn't racism simply because it's practiced by a majority. I reject her premise.

This place used to be the sorts where you could float a premise (stupid as it may be) and people would at least attempt to use logic to refute it. (BTW. I know of some really intelligent people who believe this premise) So I'll surmise that 1. No one has an answer 2. No one wishes to answer 3. People put more effort into why they don't wish to refute the premise than actually doing so. Really appreciate the links Truth Warrior, but I wanted to hear your reasoning. Most of those links are also the premise's supporters arguments in favor of.

Right, but in looking at one of her links, I found out about another one (in the comments section), and while looking into that, I found out about yet another one. So I'll try the last one I found, and if that doesn't work, try the next one. Maybe by the time I try both, the one she posted about will be available, or maybe something else will have worked for me!

My mother had bad results from cataract surgery and ended up going blind. I have pretty much decided against having the surgery myself. I will try the special eye drops and see what happens. Thanks for all the tips and info from all posters.

I would really prefer to avoid getting surgery if at all possible. For one thing, the expense is way beyond my reach, but the main reason is my aversion to hospitals. Too many people are killed in hospitals for no good reason. I'd much rather avoid that risk.

FWIW I listened to the speech also. I heard many statements that could have come from RP and was impressed by those parts, less than impressed by others, but overall I think Trump makes more sense in terms of FP than any of the drop-outs aside from Rand and way more sense than HRC in this respect. We can only hope that if DT is not RFK'd and manages to get elected and is not JFK'd, he will prove to be at least as good as he was in that speech.

Got it. Thanks. I see. I suppose it won't hurt to ask him. But to promote his business (it couldn't be vids, only still pics) by saying that he did work for us would be a lie, because hiring Mark to take pics for us would cost us at least a few months' worth of catfood money, and there's no need to hire him to take pics, because we can and do take those pics ourselves. Thanks for that clarification. I'll take it under advisement!

I'm not sure what you mean by the above. Especially the last part. I am just scratching my head! Yeah I know Mark. He lives in Springfield these days. He does still photography only. Are you suggesting that I offer to do something for him, in exchange for an older video camera? Yes i know the guy who runs that business, too. Are you suggesting that he could tell me where to find money to support the rescue? We do have a website... currently not very up to date, as I am too busy with other peoples' sites to do much with it. I've tried sending updates by email and found it to be a complete waste of time.

Absolutely correct. I even have a book about how to raise funds for this sort of thing -- "Funds to the Rescue" is the title. I'm sure if I review it I can find something that will work. Part of the problem has been finding time to dedicate to the chore of fundraising. Just managing a home, a life, half a dozen websites, a book business, garden, yard, and a whole lot of cats takes more hours than even exist in a day, so whatever I do has to be quick and effective. Usually we can manage to cover most if not all of the expenses out of personal funds, and, even though it often means making hard choices, it's the quickest and simplest way of taking care of the necessity. However, sometimes too many unusual and unavoidable expenses come up too close together, and we get pinched. It's at such times that I bite the bullet and do the best I can to generate some contributions, while still trying to juggle many other responsibilities at the same time. Anyway, thanks very much for the food for thought!

This brings back memories from my high school days in the late 1960s. Our (public) high school disallowed hair below a certain length and on the face for boys, skirts above the knees and pants for girls, shorts or blue jeans for all, tie-dyed clothing, leather fringe, anything "hippie-ish". A close male friend, a white guy, happened to have hair as kinky as black people's hair, and he like to wear it in a big bold "Afro" style with very well-worn blue jeans. He recruited me and a few others to start a revolt against the school's dress code. Ultimately, we won, and everyone could dress and wear their hair as they pleased, thanks to a few students who were unwilling to back down and submit to rules we didn't like.

I just learned that I've got 'em. And I want to stop/reverse the process before my sight gets any worse. I already have a very clean diet and lifestyle. I almost never use sugar or other refined sweeteners and never take any artificial sweeteners, MSG or artificial anything. I consume about 85% plants, no red meat, lots of seafood (including sea vegetables), no alcohol, no drugs, no dairy products, no refined flour products and only cold-pressed oils. I chew well and use unrefined sea salt in cooking only, not at the table. Our water contains no fluoride or chlorine. I don't use fluoridated toothpaste or chemicalized mouthwash or cosmetics or cleaning products. I have plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits every day, and I get a lot of exercise, fresh air and sunshine. I don't use cell phones, cordless phones, wireless anything. I shut down all the electric circuitry in the house every night before going to sleep. I try to get to bed before midnight and get up early. I don't eat for at least three hours before going to bed. There are no inner springs in my futon and I do not wear synthetic fabrics against my skin! I also take a variety of herbal remedies and supplements. The ones I take most often are: celadrin, glucosamine-chondroitin-msm, hawthorn fruit, curcumin, astaxanthin, CoQ-10, lithium orotate, B-12 (methylcobalamin), NAC, PQQ, chlorella and a combination of five different medicinal mushrooms (reishi, Lion's Mane, Turkey Tail, maitake, shiitake). Others I have on hand to use as needed, such as GABA, valerian root, Kava Kava, St. John's Wort, etc. On the surface it would appear that I have a healthy lifestyle, and theoretically I shouldn't have any major health problems. My main complaint, aside from the lasting repercussions of past injuries (which restrict movement and cause a great deal of pain in certain parts of my body), is that I've gained about 40 excess pounds that I can't seem to shake. But clearly there is something insidious going on beneath the surface.

Those are some pretty high-brow fundraising sites for a small-time operation like ours, with a budget of under $5k per year, and for someone like me, who's so beat down mentally right now that I barely function. That we will need, because we absolutely suck at fundraising. Witness this topic with over 80 views so far resulting in precisely $0 raised, and 35+ shares on Facebook, which would have reached at least several thousand people, with the same net result.

Tried this about six months ago and it fell flat. Well now the shelter is about to fall flat, so I'll try one more time! Kitty Safe Haven is a small cat rescue operation in southern Missouri. We take in as many cats as we can handle at a given time, and give them whatever they need, to the best of our ability. Great expense is involved, and we don't usually do any public fundraising. But at this time we have become overwhelmed and must seek help in a bigger way. The cats don't understand "sorry, we don't have the money" when they are in need, the just feel the pain, and it breaks our hearts! We are a 501(c)3 non-profit and you can search for us on the IRS website-- check the radio button marked "Have filed Form 990-N (e-Postcard), enter our EIN, 27-1520246 in the form, then click "Search". Please note, no one is paid by Kitty Safe Haven; all contributions go directly to the cats' care. Our largest expenses are vet bills, food and litter, flea control and wormer. Every donation, regardless of size, is greatly appreciated. Many hands make light work! Thank you in advance for your generosity! Our Paypal address is donations@kittysafehaven.org We also have a bitcoin wallet:
