With the GOP so taken over by the Trump cult, Amash was actually left competing with a run-of-the-mill country club RINO for the non-Trumpy vote.
This just shows how big of an unforced error his support of the Trump impeachment was. It did nothing to further the anything besides help I'm power the leftists. He completely torpedoed his political career on the Republican side for no logical reason.

Pragmatism is required if you're going to be in politics. He should have followed Rand or Massie's lead. Try and get Trump's ear when you can. Support the good and criticize the bad. Imagine if he didn't go scorched earth on the way out. Right now Rogers and Meijer will easily split the the neocon vote. The Trump and libertarian Republicans would easily have supported and Amash against those two. He might have even received Trump's endorsement for whatever that would be worth. I also think that at point he could have easily beaten Slotkin without the mass voter fraud that is sure to happen in Michigan in the general.

If I'm back in Michigan in time to be eligible to vote in the primary, I'm probably voting for Amash. There's no better option, but I realize that at this point it's more of a long shot than Ron Paul for the Republican presidential nomination was.

As usual, Trump's fatal flaw. He thinks the world revolves entirely and solely around "I scratch your back, you scratch mine". He believes if he gives people endorsements, jobs, or favors and they will be loyal to Trump forever. They will lay all the past aside. Trump is a damned fool.
That's pretty par for the course where Trump is concerned. I remember watching the documentary You've Been Trumped and when it becomes obvious to him that this one Scottish farmer could become a thorn in his side, he turns to one of his aides and says, "Get this man a job." The guy says he doesn't want a job, but it's obvious to anyone watching what he's trying to do: if he can get his opponents indebted to him, they won't oppose him anymore.

That clip isn't in the trailer and I can't find the whole documentary on YouTube for free anymore but here's the trailer. If you see the documentary, even though it's about attempting to save Scottland's sand dunes, it's an eye-opener into how he operates. When he's on you're side, it's great because he's pretty good at brute forcing what he wants to do. If he's not on your side, it's a pain because he's good at brute forcing what he wants to do. Not as bad as Obama and his executive pen, but he's still an unpredictable, loose canon who is only interested in being no the winning side.

Trump has opposed mandates every step of the way, his record is clear on that.

Congress did that, and by veto proof margins.
And Massie was the deciding vote to let the debt ceiling raise out of committee.

My two daughters and I were gang-raped by some of the Newcomers. It landed us in the hospital for 3 weeks as several bones were broken. I don't blame them, it was a sexual emergency and I wasn't about to go all white privilege and deny them the release they needed, especially after being stuck in a hotel for months. I see the Newcomers as family now. They are on our side and will help us stop Trump. It is a small price to pay. Anything but Trump.

Jones needs to give it a rest already. Trump is never going to change his stance on the vaccines. Before we know it it'll be the general election and Trump will still be defending them.

Trump Endorses Deep Stater — When Will He Learn?

Donald Trump recently endorsed Michigan’s former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers for the state’s open Senate seat, sparking backlash from GOP Sen. Rand Paul about Trump’s counsel and his ability to avoid the personnel pitfalls of his presidency. Today, we discuss Rogers’ intelligence past, his terrible voting record as a lawmaker, and Trump’s continuing judgment problem.

So Jones is continuing to SHILL for Trump, prefer Trump keep his mouth shut and not be held accountable, and has no clue [or won’t mention it] concerning the rest of his pathetic Record Doesn’t surprise me one bit.

It is amazing though, the lengths people, including Jones, go to to keep the worse of the worse in power.

To the contrary, I am glad that Trump isn’t shutting it. I want to know everything a politician does and doesn’t stand for. I just wish more people would actually listen, rather than to selectively hear what they want to hear and suppress what they don’t.

Well $#@!, I didn't know Justin was running for Senate. I've lately been disconnecting from the electoral season insanity and treating it as reality tv entertainment, since much of it is so obviously scripted and chock full of WEF puppets. But I'll drop Justin some money, so thanks for this thread and post. I'd rather he ran for LP Pres nominee, though. The idea of handing the LP nomination to another lukewarm-dont-rock-the-boat candidate or the elite New England family trojan horse disgusts me.

And it's funny reading threads like this, seeing comments as if we didn't already see quite clearly who/what Trump is for 4 YEARS already?!?! If he were to win again, will we be posting comments analyzing his decisions when he loads the cabinet up with Pompeos, Mnuchins and Boltons again? Insanity!

A fair point... in a more sane world. In this one, however, I'm thinking The Donald needs to choose his words with a little better care at times.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELASE

    President, Coalition to Rescue Michigan

Over 1100 Michigan Citizens Petition President Trump to Reconsider, Rescind Endorsement of Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate

The Coalition to Rescue Michigan, a grassroots leadership organization dedicated to restoring freedom and prosperity in Michigan, today delivered a letter to the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, urging he reconsider and rescind his endorsement of Mike Rogers, candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan and former Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
The text of the petition, reproduced in full below, highlighted the role Mike Rogers played as congressman in supporting the draconian surveillance program used by various federal agencies against the American public in general and the Trump campaign, transition team, and administration in particular. In conjunction with Rogers’ repeated disparagement of President Trump in the major media, the petition noted that it is “reasonable to conclude that Rogers would sabotage a future Trump administration if given the opportunity.”
“The eleven hundred-plus Michigan patriots who signed this petition did so out of genuine, sincere concern that the President’s endorsement is a strategic mistake, both for his re-election campaign and for the prospects of the future Trump administration,” Rescue Michigan President Adam de Angeli noted. “This is an extraordinary outpouring of support for the President to correct course and endorse a candidate who will be a genuine ally to him on the ticket and in the U.S. Senate.”
The petition noted that while two other candidates – Justin Amash and Peter Meijer – both voted for the false impeachments of the former President, there were additional candidates in the race, some financially competitive.
“It’s not too late for President Trump to revisit this issue, and the fact that over 1,100 Michiganders signed this petition urging he do so shows how many people are alarmed by this.”
The petition was delivered by direct mail and email to multiple key advisors to the Trump campaign.

    Dear President Trump:

We, the more than 1,100 undersigned Michigan patriots, write to you with sincere concern regarding your recent endorsement of former House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate in Michigan.

Mike Rogers is the very embodiment of the Deep State that sabotaged your first administration, and nothing Rogers has said or done since leaving office in 2015 suggests he would be anything other than an opponent of the second Trump administration. On the contrary, as a Fake News pundit on CNN, he disparaged you many times.

In fact, Rogers interviewed for the FBI Director position in your administration and was passed over. In all likelihood he hoped to lead the effort to overthrow your presidency himself.

We are well aware that two other candidates in this race, Justin Amash and Peter Meijer, voted for your impeachment and are intolerable. Nevertheless, there are multiple other candidates in this race, including at least one who is financially competitive.

The undersigned Michigan residents are grassroots leaders, officeholders, business owners, and Michigan citizens who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 to drain the Swamp of people like Mike Rogers. We look forward to mobilizing voters for a fraud-proof majority of votes for Donald J. Trump in 2024.

How we do that with a Trump-hating RINO adjacent to you on the ticket without confusing voters is a difficult task.

Although the situation is not ideal, there is still time to rescind your endorsement based on new facts having come to light on Mike Rogers. We strongly encourage you do so.

The text of the petition below is what these 1,148 Michigan patriots signed.

    For a Great America,
    Adam de Angeli
    President
    Coalition to Rescue Michigan

WHEREAS: Rogers was instrumental in setting up the warrantless mass surveillance program, Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which was weaponized against the 2016 Trump campaign, transition team, and administration – not to mention used against law-abiding Americans hundreds of thousands of times; and

WHEREAS: Based on his history as Chair of the House Intelligence Committee as a servant of the surveillance state and one who repeatedly disparaged President Trump in national media, it's reasonable to conclude that Rogers would sabotage a future Trump administration if given the opportunity; and

WHEREAS: While nobody expects President Trump to endorse a candidate who voted to overthrow him, such as Peter Meijer or Justin Amash, he has multiple choices among candidates who support him and his agenda; and

WHEREAS: This decision will be devastating to the Trump campaign in Michigan. It is difficult to mobilize to support a candidate who not only endorses against the liberty interests of the American people, but against his very own political interest; and

WHEREAS: With the FBI on one side of the U.S. Senate race and CIA stooge Elissa Slotkin on the other, Michiganders may have no meaningful choice but a Deep State operative for their next U.S. Senator – an odious, intolerable proposition; and

    WHEREAS: Mike Rogers would be a stain on the November Republican ballot in Michigan;

THEREFORE: We call upon President Trump to reconsider and rescind his endorsement of Mike Rogers, and fire whoever made the recommendation.

That's pretty interesting, since it was Trump himself who signed the 6 year extension of Section 702 into law himself in January of 2018. And the fact that Trump himself said that he wants to build a Brand New and Improved FBI Center.

Sounds to me like, as bad as Rogers is, they will do anything to overlook the mess that Trump himself put us in, and can't wait to hire him again.

    Well blow me down.
