Thread: 11 Reasons Your ‘Concern’ for Fat People’s Health Isn’t Helping Anyone

    There is beauty in everyone.

You just gotta find it sometimes.

    It's in there somewhere.
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

If she lost 20-30 pounds she'd be kinda cute.

I rode all the way home from Buffalo with my fat jeans unbuttoned because I ate too much pizza. That's gotta count for something....

Hey, the effort goes a long way with me, but probably not the horizontally challenged (is that the PC term these days?) so much.

No way! I'm in better shape now than I was when I was 18. I've been training jui jitsu and boxing for the past year. I'd post pictures but people would rip me apart here anyway haha

It feels good to be healthy, doesn't it? And physically strong.

I'm trimming down, myself, since cutting gym time and gaining some quiet time. Which I've found is equally beneficial. Perhaps more beneficial in terms if overall health.

Size matters. When I pay for a ticket to a sports event that has bleacher style seating, and I'm next to two people who weight 300 pounds apiece, they need to fit on the seats they paid for, and they better not be eating a pretzel, either.

The venue bases their ticket price on 50 people per row, and if only 40 people can fit on the row because most of them are too big, then the venue loses money. I'm not into fat shaming, but it's something I deal with every day. The practical aspect has to be considered.

We don't scold people or make them buy another seat, but it is definitely reflected in ticket prices. We could probably charge two dollars less per ticket if more people were a little more weight conscious and we could seat at projected capacity. I'm not talking about people who are somewhat overweight, but people who are morbidly obese. Some days the wheelchair rentals are sold out because people are too obese to walk more than a few feet. I don't think it ever occurred to the building designers to include more electrical outlets in public spaces to charge scooters.

All those things have a cost attached. It is in the best interests of everyone to be concerned about general health and wellness.

    Simply charge by the pound.

Nobody can scream discrimination that way...

Up to and including 160# one set price, under 100# one set price, every 20# over 160 gets a surcharge of X dollars

how does someone join and get banned in the same day talking about fat people.. and i missed it. haha

i wonder if this is fire 11

That's not what we are about.

It is an issue throughout society. Obesity affects everyone and everything. Some days I walk by restaurants or food courts and they look like showrooms for durable medical equipment. About 70% of what I see appears to be directly related to obesity.

People are passing this heritage down through their families. I see whole families that don't have a single member in a normal weight range. Imagine what that looks like at a theme park when a parent is too big to ride the teacup ride with their kids because they don't fit on the ride.

Dime to a dollar that of the people you notice being obese 70+% are being fed by the taxpayer, either directly or indirectly.

Same goes for their medical "care".....

This is what happens when people are paid to vote and paid to breed...
