Thread: Where to Begin Learning?

    Where to Begin Learning?

I am aware of the corruption within monetary organizations today, such as the Fed Reserve and the IMF. I would like to educate myself as much as possible on these topics, not restricted just to these organizations but general economics so that I can reasonably argue for other solutions and alternatives in order to make a difference. However, I don't believe must educational institutions teach anything about these subjects, and I've heard in regards to these subjects it is best to learn on your own.

I am willing to learn as much as I can while dedicating lots of time doing so. This is why I've come here to ask for guidance and reference to as much material and resources as possible. I have heard of the courses which will be offered at freedom force international, for one, but the course isn't live yet. Besides books like The Creature From Jekyll Island, what should I read, watch and listen?

Where should I begin my learning and get a grasp on the basics so I can eventually continue this pursuit on my own?

Thanks you graciously for any replies.

IMO, Rothbard is the best start. His style is clearer than most economists'. Start with "The Mystery Of Banking". https://mises.org/library/mystery-banking

I'd throw out G Edward Griffin's "Creature From Jekyll Island" as well.
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

This is a pretty good documentary from a historical perspective of monetary policy, I don't think he has the best solutions but it is at least thought provoking to hear them.
