What was lost?
The ability to print multiple copies of that much film?
We are on the return back from our dark place. I'll tell you what: I resent the everliving hell out of the fact that 35 years ago I was not presented with the option to take shop classes. I 'tested out' of taking shop. Shortly after I graduated they dismantled all the shop classes in the entire county. I was told things in the early 90s like engineering was a dying profession in the US.
I was not given this option back then. My life would have turned out very differently.
Today, we not only have the film you yourself posted (I certainly had no idea such things existed prior to the internet), but we have one of the premier science channels on YouTube visiting sheet metal stamping operations and talking to actual, living, non-retired, living in the USA machinists.
