It's more possible now than ever before in my life to do the 1860 and reject both the Democrats and the Whigs. Yes, RFKJr is a mighty long shot even so. But he's not impossible, because the deep state is going for broke, shooting the moon. They're out to get every last heart and the queen of spades too, and there's quite a lot that can go wrong with that plan. That's what makes it possible. He would prosecute Fauci. His fanbois could never invent enough excuses for him not prosecuting Fauci, if he were given the chance.

See, that's why this ship has no captain. A captain has to be calm and rational no matter how many alarms are sounding all around him. And in a democracy, that guy never gets the job because everyone else assumes he's not taking the situation seriously. Then when he shouts, "Flood these starboard compartments!" all he gets is, "You're crazy! We already took water through the big hole on the port side! You want to take on more water?!" A captain is a nice thing, and we can't have nice things. We have to panic.

Yep. I saw that Justice Thomas brought up Operation Mongoose and I posted about Justice Kavanaugh bringing up Obama's drone strikes. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?566552-Brett-Kavanaugh-invokes-Obama-drone-striking-Americans-in-Trump-immunity-oral-arugments I wish that meant they were ready to reign in presidential power across the board. But we all know that's not true.

Yeah...but you and I both know that the Clintons and the Trumps were friends. Also, Trump tried to at least investigate, if not prosecute, Joe Biden! Of course the difference is that Hillary didn't try to run again. And it's highly likely that Trump wouldn't have been prosecuted if he hadn't tried to run again. Also Biden's Burisma shenanigans were done when he was vice president. And the special prosecutor investigating Biden on mishandling classified documents came to the conclusion that Biden is too demented to prosecute. So....how again are you expecting Biden to ever be prosecuted....for anything? That's especially true if Trump is successfully prosecuted and if those prosecutions prevent him from becoming president. The only way Biden is ever prosecuted is via a Trump Whitehouse / justice department bent on revenge. Really I want Fauci prosecuted more than anybody but that's not likely either.

I brought this very argument up to a friend of mine when the story first broke that Trump's lawyer conceded that under his argument a president who ordered an assassination of a political enemy. But Obama ordered a drone strike of an American citizen, Anwar Al Awlawki, who didn't even get a trial in abstentia and was only arguably "guilty" or what normally would be considered first amendment protected speech. So....a Democratic or neocon Republican president, with the media industrial complex behind him, can declare a U.S. citizen, without a trial, an "enemy" and kill him, and his teenage son...and later his young daughter, with drone strikes with no transparency or accountability and it's okay because....reasons? Meanwhile Biden is trying to send a left wing black socialist to prison for basically the rest of his life for the "crimes" of saying that America is committing genocide against black people (wasn't that the point of Black Lives Matter?) and that our support of the Ukraine war effort is wrong because that's "Russian interference in our elections." Ummm....okay.

I don't know. The Trump fanbois still think he'll put Hillary in prison someday. They're the ones, however, scouting up loopholes through which Biden might escape the same fate. That's all I'm saying. Is this escalation? Does each half of government get to ignore more laws than the last, out of retaliation, forever?

That didn't stop the House and Senate from attempting impeachment for things he did as president. LOL if you think that anybody is going to go after Biden for anything. When Joe Biden was no longer president he bragged on video that as vice president he withheld foreign aid in order to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired. It just so happens that prosecutor was investigating a company that just so happened to be paying Biden's crackhead son $80,000 a year for absolutely nothing. And when Trump tried to withhold aid to get Biden investigated....Trump got impeached. So pray tell how anybody will ever prosecute Joe Biden for anything he's ever done as president or vice president?

I'd hate to see someone set a precedent that would limit which prosecutors could indict Biden a couple of years from now for crimes he's committing in their jurisdictions.

It just depends. A short enough clip with enough "GPU horsepower" thrown at it can look essentially indistinguishable from reality. While there are certain "telltale signs" that something is generated with AI, there's no guarantee that any of those will be present in any given clip, especially if it's short. I've been using local image-generation AI (doesn't have to go over the Internet, it all runs locally in my own home) to generate images that you would not be able to tell by any means are not real photos. Photoshop released an edit-detection feature, but that feature itself uses AI. AI-detection-AI can detect certain kinds of edits and fakes but there is no guarantee it can pick them all out. So yes, you can have a fake photo or video-clip where nobody can actually prove it's fake. I think the age of AI is making it clear why the old biblical standard is, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word will be established." You need flesh-and-blood witnesses to establish what exactly has happened, regardless of funny-business. Their testimony may include things like "this video footage is real, I recorded it on my camera", but it's the testimony that establishes it, not the bare footage itself. Two or three witnesses are still required, that is, lone-gun video evidence is not sufficient to prove a serious accusation when there is reasonable doubt that it could have been faked. IOW, images/video etc. should be treated as an unreliable witness unless their provenance can be reliably established. I expect the courts will end up ruling on this at some point.

Oh come on. Let's all be honest here and admit the truth. Trump is a man with ZERO principals! None, nada, nothing. About the only thing he cares about is himself. He's willing to go against his "base" on the COVID vaccines because, frankly, he's proud of that "accomplishment." And when it comes to funding for Israel his "base" is split. LOL at SS for claiming that Lindsey Graham gave Trump credit for helping push this through to "hurt" Trump. Nope. It's to save Trump for the wrath of the Zionist faction of the Teocons and for Lindsey to pat himself on the back for saying "I told you so" to anyone who's been attacking Lindsey for being a warmonger. Lindsey doesn't hate Trump. He's come to Trump's defense on multiple occasions. Lindsey loves war and to the extent that Trump will go along with war mongering, Lindsey is happy to "forgive and forget" Trump not doing "shock and awe" on Iran after Iran shooting down a U.S. drone in exchange for Trump killing the Iran nuclear deal and an Iranian general who was in Iraq as a guest of our Iraqi allies. Lindsey is smarter than most in that he knows how to stroke egos. This was a win for the neocons but so was Rand Paul signing the Tom Cotton letter years ago. Only there have been far more moments like this for Trump than for Rand.

Absolutely. They're shooting the moon. Go big or go home. They know they only have so much time to pull it off. They certainly want us to believe they'll leave it in ruins if they don't get their way. I have reason to hope that part's a bluff, though. They have more wealth, more skin in the game, tied up in it than, like, everyone else combined. They want it to work -- for them.

Misrepresent, mischaracterize and ridicule. Haven't we all had enough of those tactics? Beyond misrepresenting, mischaracterizing and ridiculing? Do you? It's 2024. I don't think writing in Ron Paul still rises to that level. I don't see a better real world chance of escaping that trap, a better lawyer to get us out of the clutches of the Bad Cop and the Good Cop than RFKJr. Want to do something that stands a slight chance of producing a positive outcome? Write in Ron Paul. Or maybe do what Ron Paul taught us to do for state GOP conventions, but for our county election boards this time. If they want a fight, let's oblige them.

Now, there is nothing I disagree with in this. And I do all those things, I spend a good chunk of my day learning or perfecting skills I already have, like welding, auto repair, site maintenance, and so on. So why do I still half heartedly participate? Who fucking knows...hope? Helpless masochism? A deeply held belief that the boogaloo will bathe the streets in blood ankle deep, regardless of needed it may be? I love my children, they are one of the few things left in my life that give me joy, and I hate to see them go through what is coming?

That's exactly it. Biden's bad cop job here is to make trashing the Constitution look like a reasonable alternative. It wasn't that long ago that nothing could make trashing the Constitution outright look like a reasonable idea, because it wasn't a reasonable idea, it isn't a reasonable idea and it won't be a reasonable idea. But Biden sure is making it look like one. Taking over our own election boards and voting for a non-Demopublican, on the other hand, is an eminently reasonable idea. Isn't it a shame that a vast swath of the population has been brainwashed into thinking it just can't be done? Biden and Trump exactly the same. How does having identical Bad Cop and Good Cop get us to trash our Constitution like fucking idiots? It fucking doesn't.

I don't lie about what you said. Both Trump and Biden lead to the same place. They're playing the age old good/bad cops routine. In the end, you get communist China. And there's plenty of smoke in the air. Industry works. And nobody in government is sabotaging it any more, because they're the only ones getting rich from it at that point. Nobody said Joe Montana and Jerry Rice are the same. They were, however, once on the same team playing toward the same goal. You can disagree. But at least have enough respect for yourself to understand what you're disagreeing with and demonstrate the fact that you do.

If the bad cop is pounding down my door, if the bad cop is arresting me every time I walk out the door, if the bad is imposing laws and rules that make my life miserable and unlivable, and the good cop is walking a beat on the other side of town, now why the fuck would I not want to deal with the good cop, if given the slightest amount of choice?

I just started looking at the Constitution Party platform since you recommended it awhile back. There are some good things in it, but there are also some concessions to statism that I think are dangerous despite the fact that I'm moving away from strict anarcho-capitalist libertarianism. They support regulation of "obscenity", which isn't really defined, they support some drug restrictions, and they are careful to show their respect for agents of our currently illegitimate state (veterans), as well as condemning attempts to cut their benefits despite the fact that they are paid out of our pockets and for participating in unjust wars for an unjust system.

The Constitution Party isn't all bad, and I might support some of their candidates, but I don't think there is any party I can support on principle (LP is pro-choice so not an option) I respect strict theonomy even though I'm not sure I agree with it yet. I don't think anybody believes what I'm starting to believe these days.

OK, so my question is, with relations to Galatians, how is it that you can call Roman Catholics on this board "brothers" even though they add works to the gospel just like the Judaizers did? How is adding baptism as a requirement in order to be saved any different than adding circumcision as a requirement?
  10. View Conversation
Out of curiosity, how do you interpret Galatians 1:8-9 and 2 John 9-11?
