Nowadays, I view borders a lot like constitutionalism -- sure, we would ideally live in a society where governments are not able to arrogate to themselves any powers but those which any other human organization can have, meaning, no collective has any right that its individual constituents do not have, as individuals. But since we are saddled with such organizations for the time-being -- by dint of the momentum of history and the blockheaded stubbornness of the human collective in the face of clear reason -- then let us have clearly spelled-out limits upon their authority so that, if they go beyond these limits, they themselves call into question their own reason-for-being and are implicitly demanding a reconstitution of the government on a fresh foundation, not only removing its current office-holders from office, but even reconstituting its entire organizational structure from the ground-up. This was the constitutional framework established by the founding fathers and time has proved over and over how right they were. If we must have borders, then let them be lawful borders, and let them be maintained according to the constitutional framework, that is, reflecting the will of We The People through our elected representatives. It truly is an existential matter because if we cannot keep foreign powers from influencing our elections, then We The People are effectively not represented at all, and the entire constitutional framework is moot. And the last people on earth who should be baiting the mooting of the constitution are the plutocrats in DC. But hey, it's their funeral if they want it that badly...

Well, assuming it's a true theory which is a long-shot, to say the least. There is a remarkable amount of disinformation surrounding the whole topic and, in Clown World, literally anything is on the table at this point. Privately, I first speculated about this possibility no later than 2013-timeframe. Just pointing this out in order to note that there are levels of paranoia which most people are not prepared to even contemplate... and some of us have been living in that head-space for a very long time...

I've considered it. Even if true, it is probably irrelevant at this point as he would be 107 years old, by my calculation. Seems improbable. But then, Clown World is far more improbable. So who knows...

I don't understand why conservatives/libertarians so easily fall for this obvious propaganda... This is an old headline being recycled. First, the "top climate diplomat" was from the previous administration. I assume Milei will fire them, but we'll see, maybe there's some political calculus that makes that difficult. Second, this "top climate diplomat" ran off from Argentina during Milei's inauguration and announced, apparently on their own cognizance, all this crap about the Paris Agreement. If I had to guess, this is a stunt being pulled by Milei's opposition to make him appear unable to rein in his own government, thus making him look weak. If he were to openly contradict this diplomat, yet is unable to force him out of office due to political maneuvers, then he appears powerless, and this can be exploited to topple him. But if he allows the diplomat's words to go unchallenged, you get these stupid brainwashed propaganda news articles as above.

Bingo. We all know how badly Hillary wanted it. And I'm sure she's schemed every scheme that can be schemed to convince the dark overlords to let her try again. But why would they? What could they possibly gain from it? A Michelle Obama run seems vastly more likely to me. But then. This is Clown World, so I've more or less given up on trying to analyze it on any rational basis. Que sera, sera...

This is one of the most important arguments against inflation. A lot of liberals are economically illiterate, and they know it. They can't balance a checkbook and lose track of cash like water running out of a sieve. Regardless of whether the system failed them, or they failed themselves, they are financial incompetents and they know it. But one thing that a lot of them have right, despite their bonkers economic fairy-tale beliefs, is that government should not be helping the Fat Cats at the expense of the Little Guy. Fair enough, and I agree! And so does Tom DiLorenzo, and he's going to explain to you in precise detail exactly how central-bank inflation only benefits the Fat Cats and only injures the Little Guy. Inflation is a hyper-regressive tax! Repeat that as many times as required for the slogan to sink in! Inflation is a hyper-regressive tax! It hurts the Little Guy, and is a massive boon to the Fat Cats! The "OcCuPy WaLl StReEt" crowd should be occupying the Fed! What's wrong with you people, wake up!!

Pretty obvious overstep of authority. Congress has the authority of the purse, not POTUS. You can't forgive a debt that is not owed to you (executive branch). Not that facts matter in Clown World. PS: I should apologize to everyone here because this is actually my fault. I just paid off my student debt last year, so that is obviously what triggered this. Sorry guys...

The image of God in man presupposes that I am the only owner of myself, vis-a-vis all other creatures. Of course, God is my ultimate owner, but God has no need for anything of mine, either. My fellow-creatures, however, have no legal or other claim on what is mine, especially my body. Marxism erases the manifest principle of self-ownership right at its very root, defying God. If we are truly free, as Scripture promises we are in Jesus (John 8:36, John 10:10b, Gal. 5:1), then we are free to exchange the things we own with one another... freely, meaning, without consulting the permission of a third-party creature who has arrogated to themselves the "authority" to permit or deny the voluntary, lawful interactions of others. The idea of evolutionary advancement did not begin in biology, it began in sociology (including Marx's ideas) and was later adapted to biology by Darwin and others. Even in Scripture, there are promises of reward. While we ultimately serve God for his own sake, for his greatness, God is no Pharaoh, he is not a cruel taskmaster who merely promises not to destroy us for as long as we remain useful, and nothing beyond that. No, God has promised to reward his servants, in proportion to the devotion of their labor in service. The sin of stealing remains a sin whether it is done by an individual thief, a gang, a "government", whether it is enshrined in "law", or tradition, or justified in any other way. Stealing is taking what doesn't belong to you, without a true justification (such as legal restitution). We well understand that the gang-lord who has never set foot on your property really steals from you when his thugs enter your property and seize what is not theirs, the same as if he himself had done the deed. Using a proxy to commit theft/robbery does not exonerate you in any way of the crime you have committed -- even if that proxy is the State.
