I recently had the best day of my life, thank you my friend. Personal projects are coming up roses for me. I only hope you're doing as well yourself. That's so much more rewarding than receiving an infraction for pointing out that someone is repeating the message of all the shills himself, even as he is allowed to call you and me and all our friends moles with impunity. The irrational exuberance is depressing, too. For example, RFKJr. isn't in the cabinet for DHHS yet, or even at the head of the FDA. Trump has four years to execute a softer coup than I predicted. He was warned repeatedly about this: Here he is laughing it off. Somebody should worry about the effect it has on the health of this forum. The usual election year psychosis is bad enough without him being immune to the rules and spreading his toxicity at will. Not that watching him accuse everyone and his dog of being moles when he's the one spreading the Approved Narrative isn't funny--the first ten thousand times. I'd certainly believe he'd try with all his might. After all, he had two decades in the House trying to cut and/or kill every bloated budget that came his way. Trump, meanwhile, had veto power over the budgets and in four years used it exactly once. Musk, meanwhile, isn't running for any elected office, and I haven't even heard what specific unelected office he might or might not be offered. So, why do you ask?

More contradictory messages. Every time we got contradictory messages from Trump in '16 (and that was all the time) the swampy answer turned out to be the true answer. So. No more Fed, like Musk said? Or more petrodollar tariffs, like Trump said? Any bets?

You and Anti Federalist and it feels like the whole country. There's no such thing as a goddamned free lunch, people. Printing leads to devaluation. Devaluation shows as price inflation. Price inflation is a tax. It's the most regressive tax of them all. People who live on investment income notice it less. Working people have to get a raise every damned day to keep up. The deficit is a tax. We pay it, and we pay it right freaking now. The two major differences are, one, everyone pays it, especially the poor. And two, this way big, fat, connected banks lay claim to a first mortgage on the nation. You don't care about borrowing. You don't care about the deficit. You don't care about currency devaluation. You don't care that your own spending power, and your own savings, are being decimated. Gee. Who cares what you have sense enough to care about and what you don't? And yes, the GOP is the party that really moves that ball, because tax cuts without spending cuts. Remember a guy named Reagan? He raised the debt more than all previous presidents combined, too.
