Supreme Court rejects Texas election challenge. The Republic has fallen.

    We did not keep it....

HOUSTON (AP) ó The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a lawsuit backed by President Donald Trump to overturn Joe Bidenís election victory, ending a desperate attempt to get legal issues rejected by state and federal judges before the nationís highest court.

The courtís order was its second this week rebuffing Republican requests that it get involved in the 2020 election outcome. The justices turned away an appeal from Pennsylvania Republicans on Tuesday.

The Electoral College meets Monday to formally elect Biden as the next president.

Not surprising. Knew in the back of my head that the judges were going to get threatened/paid off.

Only way Trump could win at this point would be through the legislatures, which will probably stab him in the back as well.

No doubt. The average folks have no clue how bad it really is. It is completely corrupt.

How people have been taught to see government at all levels is simply an illusion provided by the elites.

He did NOT toss it, he denied a preliminary injunction.

It and many other cases which will not suffer from the phony standing issue are still before the court or headed to it.

If there were any chance of courts giving MAGA a win, would powerful deep lobbies funded well-connected Netanayahu have so quickly congratulated Biden?

Seems many MAGA supporters were being tad bit naive if they expected courts to reverse Biden-Kamala play.

Now MAGA credibility will be on the line, will there be any real consequences & MAGA wrecking ball will be heading towards zionists lobbies who allegedly helped with 'stolen election' coup?

And no, Republics don't fall when some hollywood-showbiz-trained Globalist-Neocons-funded slick-talking flip-flopping reluctant-warrior leader of a political faction of a blundering party does not end up 'winning election' or fails to deliver 'too much winning that people will be sick and tired of'.

Between the Civil War/Reconstruction, the Federal Reserve, the 17th Amendment, the Military-Industrial Complex, et cetera ad nauseam, the Republic fell a long time ago (and not all at once or at any one particular moment). It's been nothing but shambling and increasingly desiccated revenant for quite a while now.

I am disappointed that I won't get to see the operatives of the U.S. Department of Propaganda (i.e., the corporate media, et al.) gnaw their own tongues off in head-exploding fits of apoplexy, but that would have been a short-term satisfaction in any case. A Biden presidency that many millions will regard as illegitimate will serve the longer-term purpose of further exposing the fact that a continent-wide mass democracy of over a third of a billion people is (and can be) nothing but a ludicrously untenable sham. A Trump victory would have undercut that salubrious result. Now that both "sides" have had a taste of having their noses rubbed in it, our ideological self-segregation can proceed apace. I hope that it will.

Guys, the legal system in this country exists to bolster the establishment. There was no way Trump was going to find recourse in the courts.

At the same time, the Party of Lincoln is a weak-kneed leftist establishment party. It was always going to stab Trump in the back.

At this point just prepare for the inevitable balkanization and breakup.

I'm confused. I get the "lack of standing" from one state suing another. I thought this was the reason the suits started at state level, and went upwards. Did SCOTUS toss the state level lawsuits that got appealed?

No. Texas filed directly with SCOTUS a motion for leave to file a complaint against Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

On grounds of "lack of standing," SCOTUS denied them permission to file that complaint.

So this doesn't have anything to do with any of the other state-level suits.

Sounds like a bunch of squawk to me. If Texas wanted to secede they should have done it under Obama.

The same news media outlets have claimed that the 2016 election wasn't as a free and fair election yet when Biden beating out Obama,Bush and Clinton somehow makes the 2020 election a fair and free?

Of course it's a bunch of squawk - Texas and the Texas GOP ain't gonna do jack-doodly. At least, not yet.

But it "normalizes" the idea just a little bit more, thereby giving it greater social currency and impetus.

It is another straw on the camel's back, and that is all to the better.

Cultural Revolution anybody? To get to heaven, one must go through hell first. To understand good, we need to witness true evil. And I'm not talking about the election or Trump, that's just symbolic of the root issue with our country which is cultural degradation. Statue toppling, digital book burning, the Red Guard (Antifa/BLM) -- the signs are all there.

Those cases will be tossed for the same reason: no standing, just like I've been telling anybody who wanted to listen, including Mrs. AF.

and Trump will launch a military coup if it comes to that.
And that is insane...if he were to do that the Republic would truly be dead.

I would have no problem with Trump stepping down and then building a resistance and secession movement, even if it relied on his cult of personality.

I would likely join such a movement.

But to launch an internal Bonapartist coup d'ťtat while still CinC of the Armed Forces is, quite obviously insane, and I would have no choice but to oppose such a coup with force.

It's a ridiculous proposition. There's no way in hell the military would impose martial law over this election.

Exactly. What I was trying to impart. Hell, the Pentagon doesn't particularly care for a pulling out of troops, or even the mention, from anywhere.
