    Swine Flu Makers:

    - Sanofi-Aventis SA
    - GlaxoSmithKline
    - AstraZeneca
    - Novartis

    LOL:

Academic studies in recent weeks have shown that most people require a single dose of vaccine in order to acquire protection, compared with the two doses originally believed necessary and used in orders by governments, including the UK.

Separately, public suspicion of the perceived risks of vaccines at a time when the impact of swine flu is far less than previously feared is also discouraging the use of those vaccines already delivered.

The fall in demand may affect sales by the leading flu vaccine suppliers, which are all based in Europe GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi-Aventis, Novartis and AstraZeneca.

They probably became about as wealthy as the companies that made the digital converter boxes. Anything compulsory by the government nowadays is laden in private interest. BASTARDS!!

Sanofi-Aventis to Buy Chattem for About $1.9 Billion

    Wall Street Journal
    DECEMBER 21, 2009

French drug maker Sanofi-Aventis S.A. Monday stepped up its move into consumer drugs by entering the U.S. market, acquiring Chattem Inc. for $1.9 billion.

Seeking to offset the impending loss of sales of drugs with expiring patents, Sanofi-Aventis has been increasing its presence in the over-the-counter market this year. In October, it bought French nutritional beauty supplement brand Oenobiol and it expects the entire unit to achieve sales of about 1.4 billion this year ($2 billion).

The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based company, maker of products like Icy Hot pain-relieving patches and gel and ACT mouthwash, posted revenues of $454.9 million in 2008.

Sanofi said the deal will propel it to become the world's fifth-biggest over-the-counter drugs company, from number six. It estimates the world market to be worth about $20 billion a year and excutives said they expect the company to outpace the market's expected annual 3% growth rate.
