Oh come on - no need to fracture any further on this. One side is open to trying to make overtures while the other is not. Both have legitimate concerns and reasons. The beautiful thing about liberty is that it allows all views.

+ rep! I think those young progs spend a little too much time thinking about what they want to happen - and almost zero time thinking about the bureaucratic institution that would need the power to make it happen. In other words, they think about what government should do for them and almost never consider what government is doing to them - until they see it front and center. Ron Paul was adept at making that linkage for them.

"Disgraced", huh? Funny, because to me, he was able to escape Washington with some grace still intact. You almost NEVER see that. As to the point of allies with progressives, I think there is obviously some overlap there. Ron Paul was able to capitalize on that overlap more than anyone. If this author thinks libertarian ideas are so weak that students can be "worked over" by a genius like AOC, then we're in worse shape than we thought. I think it's quite the opposite. The students attending the event may have recognized an opening to work with the left on areas where we align (there are many), and an opening for them to see us as having reasonable disagreements on the areas where we disagree (again, there are many).

If the Republican Party is to be taken seriously on the federal level, then it behooves it to support a ticket similar to, say, Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie in 2024. Otherwise, it'll be a waste of time.

Coaches frustrated after no Historically Black College & University players selected in 2021 NFL draft Apparently, it's not enough that 70% of the NFL is black and 28 of the first 32 draft picks were black, it's racist to not take the black kids from the "right" schools.

I don't recall saying Trump was the worst president ever. In fact I know I didn't say that. I have repeatedly said I would have taken him over Biden but I'm glad I didn't have to make that choice because I live in a solidly red state. And Trump actually did a few things I like. It's funny that my ex-wife recently accused me of being a "Trump fan" for no other reason that my ex-mother-in-law got mad at me on Facebook for posting something against Obama. I'm not sure why people think everybody has to get on one "team" or another. I don't buy the mental gymnastics Obama fans go through to explain why Obama really didn't have kids in cages (he did) or why the wars in Libya and Syria were justified (they weren't) or why the bombing of a hospital in Afghanistan wasn't his fault (it was). Likewise the "Trump won 2020 by the largest landslide ever" (no solid proof he even won) or "Trump's anti gun moves were really 3D chess" (stupid if that's true) or "Trump really put satanic pedophiles in power to expose that" (again stupid if it's true) arguments from Trump fans don't do it for me either. I respect the "I know Trump sucks but I just really don't like the other guy" logic.

 Calling people "armchair quarterbacks" because they don't buy the "Trump had to hire (excuse me "nominate") the (allegedly) satanic pedophile AG" is the definition of spinning.

I've thought a lot about this. I'm glad to see there are some on the right who would like to think that something could have been done other than her being shot. I am also glad that there are some I've talked to on the left who are like "Yeah...there's nothing else the officer could have done." Seeing this picture I'm in the "There's nothing else the officer could have done" camp. (I was already there actually). Mikiah was about to stab that girl, but her father was about to curb stomp the other girl. From the body cam video I think the cop was initially going to shoot Mikiah's father, but then saw the more immediate threat from Mikiah and the knife. The cop didn't shoot Mikiah to save his own life, but to save a life of another. A couple of days later a Metro Nashville cop shot a man with two knives to save his own life. It didn't become a national story because the Nashville police got out in front of it and prevented any false narratives from being spun. (By the way...I was a few miles away from that asleep when it happened).

 Yeah. Go ahead and blindly support the man that put the term "red flag law" in the national lexicon, covered up the murder and/or escape of Jeffery Epstein, opened the door to banning gun accessories by executive order, supported the national guard takeover of D.C. and has left people that supported him twisting in the wind all because...reasons. No criticism of the orange man allowed because...reasons. And I thought Obama supporters were bad.

So....let me see if I understand your argument. Donald Trump nominated a satanic pedophile to be AG because......? You know what? At this point it doesn't matter. You no longer have any legitimate reason to ever complain about any action taken by any president, past, present or future. If you can justify Trump supposedly nominating a satanic pedophile and keeping that pedophile in place after that pedophile covers up the murder or escape of a child sex slavery then anyone can justify any action taken by any president.

Trump hired a satanic pedophile and let him stay on through the end of the term? Yeah...that's possible. Shows Trump really didn't give a rip about the American people. Great. And now in the hands of Biden. One corrupt politician handed him off to another.

True story. My dad and I today went to a "greasy spoon" resturant. (Cafeteria style). They had a mask sign on the door but I saw people in there without masks so I didn't worry about it. My dad was halfway through ordering and I was about to and the woman behind the counter was like "You have to have on a mask." Now she had on a mask and she was behind plexiglass and I stepped back 6 feet, but she still insisted on a mask and brought us both out one. I figured everyone else without a mask must have had one on earlier right? Nope. later a customer came in, seemed to be a regular, and ordered his meal without a mask.

I wish things were a lot more local too. I'm really not looking for a country of 300 million at all. I think that's too big. Those who didn't want to live by Christian law could live somewhere else and choose God's judgment over his blessings.

And while I do believe the BIble requires civil authorities to punish homosexuality, and with death as the maximum penalty, I don't think it would be legitimate even for the government to just round up people in a gay bar.

  8. Sorry, but you have failed. That verse does not contain the words "Grace is irresistible." You can interpret it that way, but that's not what the verse says. You had to admit there was "relational language" in the Bible. Yet you have stuck to your guns that there isn't a verse that says "Have a relationship with Jesus." Likewise there is no verse that says "Grace is irresistible." If you were honest you would simply admit that. But you aren't honest.

In the twilight of the Cold War, the United States spent millions of dollars to supply Afghan schoolchildren with textbooks filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings, part of covert attempts to spur resistance to the Soviet occupation.
