The vaccines are effective because the government says they're effective. The masks are effective to stop the spread of COVID caused by the vaccines. The "Delta Variant" comes from India, but it also evolved from all of the unvaccinated folks. Staying at home to save lives is doubleplusgood. #AloneTogether Two plus two equals five. We've always been at war with Eastasia.

The first thing I'd do is request an antibody test prior to getting the jab. If you've already had Covid (and many people have had it and didn't know it), you most likely have better antibodies than what the vaccines could provide. If your employer wouldn't accept a positive antibody test, then they're not worth working for. You could always try the religious exemption - that may buy you some time and piss off your HR department. Otherwise, group together with other like-minded employees and threaten a lawsuit - the vaccines are still experimental, after all. If all else fails, don't be afraid to quit. There are plenty of jobs out there and you'll be better off in the long run. Start your own business. Do anything that provides value to people. Skills and experience are helpful, but you can get those easily over time.

Hmmm.... Seems like a relevant data point since roughly a 3rd of the country has recovered from Covid based on the case numbers you've provided before. I wonder why we're not seeing that stat? Why are we not testing for antibodies prior to vaccination? It's the antibodies that matter, right? And you get a fuller set of antibodies from the virus than you do from mRNA shots.

I don't think anyone is saying the free market is perfect. There is no such thing. But at least with private entities, if you don't like the way you're being treated, you can go elsewhere and stop doing business with them. The problem is when government gets in the mix and starts mandating things to protect businesses from a competitor that would choose to operate differently.

I've recommended this kind of system for all my friends in Health Care: You may end up making less in your paycheck (depending on the clientele), but the job will be much more rewarding and with less stress. Don't underestimate the value of that! You have to understand that you're in the minority in Health Care, so your options will be more limited. But that doesn't mean they're not there. Hell, start your own nursing outfit!

Well, then work for a company in the minority. But seriously, there is a problem with your mindset if you believe that you can't leave and get paid well. If a company is willing to pay a price for your services, so will a competitor. If your value is high enough, you hold all the cards. And isn't that what we all should be striving for?? Why would anyone want to be subject to the whims of an employer or the State?? I work for a corporation, but I consider myself self-employed. The corporation pays me well for the value I provide them. If either one of us decides it's not working for us anymore, we are both free to leave. No one owes anyone anything. The corporation could crumble tomorrow. I could become incapacitated. If you fear losing your job, then you may want to question your outlook on life - because you're allowing someone else to control you.

You are acting as if people couldn't walk away. Here's what you say, "yeah, sorry. I don't want to do any of that stuff - I'll sell my services elsewhere, thanks." I understand the corporate/State relationship and yes, that's a problem. The state wants to control of people and business and corporations want the cover of the state so they don't have to worry about competition from other businesses who aren't doing these kinds of mandates. That's the problem. It's not inflexible dogmatic libertarianism, it's just a belief in personal ownership and responsibility. If I'm a business owner, I should be able to select employees that meet my criteria. If I'm an employee, I should be able to select an employer that meets my criteria. That's a free exchange. Businesses that want to mandate vaccinations will have employees that have no problem with it and businesses that don't will have employees that are fine with that. This wouldn't even be an issue if not for the imposition of the State.

Dammit. People need to understand their power! Your company doesn’t own you or your labor. You sell them your labor. If you don’t like the terms of the agreement, stop selling to them! If more people did this, businesses wouldn’t pull this stupid crap. They wouldn’t be able to. It’s a free mutual exchange. You are the seller. If your buyer is placing crazy demands on you, end the arrangement. Screw ‘em. They don’t own you! Know your value and don’t be cajoled into accepting less than you deserve.

I'm probably one of them. I think private businesses should be able to require their employees to wear short skirts if they want to. I think they should be able to require them to crawl on all fours as they enter the workplace. It's their money after all. If they want to buy some labor, they should be able to dictate the terms of the labor they want to purchase. And suffer the consequences of stupid rules. To me, exchanging money for someone's labor is no different than exchanging money for the fruits of someone's labor. And before I purchase any product, I make sure it suits my wants and needs. If it doesn't, I don't buy it. We don't need government coming in telling me I have to buy it, even though I may not want it. But..... If there's a contractual arrangement for employment, employers can't change the contract midstream. Employees need to know what they're agreeing to before they accept the job. Any changes in that contract need to be negotiated. If there's a disagreement, the employer is still responsible for fulfilling the remainder of the existing contract. As for government employees... Yeah, let's hope this leads to a mass exodus.

It's not just the vaccine. To me, that's just a sacramental rite of the religion. The religion is the State. And there are lots of tenets of that religion: You must cede your individuality and wealth to the State; Unless you publicly flog yourself, you will be responsible for the end of the Earth, whether by pandemics or climate; Your personhood is not as important as your skin color or sexual preferences; You must never offend a member of this religion - they are off limits - heretics are free game, though; You are a sinner if you were born with any advantages and the only way to absolve yourself is to take advantages away from other people; All atrocities are permitted if done in the name of the almighty State; All free speech must be tolerated unless it veers slightly from the State-approved speech. It's really a sick religion, but you'll never convince their adherents.

I'd encourage anyone to go actually read the reporting of that MIT study. It's rather laughable. They used empirical data to show that people choose their own narratives and then use data to support them, but then they totally miss the fact that they're doing the same exact thing! Even when confronted with the fact that their empirical data was in conflict with their narratives, they just recrafted their narrative slightly to account for the new data. So, instead of "these people are wrong because they aren't working with facts", it turned into "these people are only selecting which facts support their biases". Totally missing the fact they did the same thing. For example... They call them "anti-masking" groups, rather than pro-freedom groups. And they forget their own observer bias in their "deep lurking". So, they obfuscate that the people pushing the mainstream narratives are doing the EXACT same thing. But because they believe that narrative and have deemed it as "truth", there's no need for a study.

To be fair, that was one of the few good things Trump did. For all of his other faults, his administration took a pretty aggressive (albeit, temporary) axe to lots of regulations. To me, the problem isn't the jab, it's the way the corporate government is pushing it that's creepy. Hell, if people want to take an experimental shot of something because they're afraid of getting sick, more power to 'em. Natural selection and all. But when the state gets involved - watch the FUCK out! If this was a real health crisis, you wouldn't need to spend billions to get people to take it. You wouldn't have to "control the messaging" (p.s. the idea that a government can, or should, even attempt to get involved with, never mind control, the messaging between free people is something you'd think more people would have a problem with.) It's all a joke. The corporate state owns the societal consciousness. No amount of reduced regulation is gonna stop that. I suppose that we could take solace in the fact that if a sinister nation ever weaponizes a "vaccine", we can count on the mentally-weak to be the first to line up for it. Maybe then, we'll cull the herd.

erowe1, are you seriously taking the position that cops are "innocent until proven guilty"? Or are you just messing with people here to see if they are parroting what they've been told without thinking about it?

Mind you, I'm not talking about the not-so-subtle "Let's lynch 'em" attitude. I tend to think that's a bad idea, even if I philosophize in weird directions sometimes (its part of my efforts to stay sane while surrounded by statists IRL, give me a break). But, there is a difference between saying "we shouldn't condone harming X for Y or Z reasons" and saying "X is actually innocent."

Note, also by "innocent" I don't even mean morally sinless, I just mean per the NAP. I'd honestly be shocked if there is a single cop who's been on the force for more than a week who isn't an NAP violator. Do you disagree?

Thanks for the sermon. Good stuff. I passed it on to my parents. My dad's a pastor so I'd love to see him converted to the view of Romans 13 that you take or a similar one.

Just out of curiosity, how well received was that message in your church?

Thanks. One of my brothers in Christ who I respect and love told me that a Christian man should spend more time with his brothers than people in the world. I was spending so much time on the forums with these unbelievers, and when he said that, I was extremely convicted. There is nothing like spending time with brothers who build you up in the Lord and sharpen you.
