Just more scare tactics to try to get more people (and their kids) to get the jab. I'll wager 98% of the scared people already got the jab, so really these efforts aren't going to be effective for adults... But those same people may have children that haven't been jabbed - can't let them feel safe!

I haven't seen it discussed. But the question must come up of how they can keep capitalists out of their territory. They can't just let them come in and start entering wage labor contracts with one another there. Some anarcho-communists are pacifists. But some definitely aren't, and are ok with using violence in the cause of overthrowing capitalist institutions. I can't see them saying, "Yes, we can kill them. But no, we can't deport them."

Come to think of it, maybe those defendants' attorneys could get some mileage out of capitalizing on that rhetoric. "Members of the jury, the prosecution has openly admitted to you that their case rests on a mere conspiracy theory!"

Do I understand correctly that their reasoning for the lack of standing is dependent on the removal of the fines attached to the individual mandate, i.e. that the individual mandate doesn't harm anyone since there's no punishment for violating it? If so, then at the same time as ruling in favor of the mandate, it's also a rule in favor of keeping the mandate unenforceable. I'm not sure if this is really a win for the mandate if it comes with that string attached.

Breitbart is a sea of contradiction. Monday: "These people came here illegally! They should have done it the right way, like my ancestors did, and come legally! I have no problem with immigration! I'm no xenophobe! But when it's done illegally, that's unacceptable." Tuesday: "Biden made it possible for these people to come here legally! That's unacceptable!" Yeah, the taxpayer dime part is definitely wrong. But something tells me that taking that out of the equation wouldn't change anything for the article's author and readership.

Interesting anecdote... I was in downtown Pittsburgh last week. There was a large-scale arts festival that was spread out throughout the whole town. Tons of foot traffic! Almost no one was wearing a mask. They did have those signs on stores and restaurants, but still no one was wearing masks inside. However, we stopped by the Andy Warhol Museum. And you'd think the lockdowns never ceased and the virus was killing half the population. I was with a group and someone gave me a mask to go in. (Wasn't my idea, but the group really wanted to see it) First, we had to stop by a pedestal-mounted temperature scanner. We all passed (whew!). Next we went up to the desk to buy tickets from a frail young man in a dress. With his face covered and implants, only his voice gave him away. He/she directed us to the elevator where we needed to get a "safety lecture" about how to distance ourselves throughout the museum. The elevator had a 4 person limit with footprints on the floor directing each person to stand with their face towards their corner. (the footprints had an "L" and "R" in them and were different colors - you know, so you wouldn't get confused.) Once the elevator door shut, everyone turned around :). Once in the museum display rooms, no one was following the distance rules and the staff were scattered about trying to correct people, but no one cared. Once we were done reviewing the ridiculous "art", everyone walked back out, stepped into the throngs of people and took their masks off. The whole thing was ludicrous kabuki theater. So why the discrepancy from inside the museum to the rest of the city??? Because the museum is run and staffed by Marxists. If your perception of the risk of a virus is so severely colored by your political persuasions, then you may want to question whether the virus is dangerous or whether you've succumbed to cult-like brainwashing.

This is what the mask mandate is for. It's so they can say, "Get the vaccine so that you won't have to wear a mask anymore." Granted, it's not a very effective stick, since people who don't want to wear a mask or get a vaccine will just go on doing neither. And those who are going to listen to that instruction will have already gotten the vaccine. But regardless of its effectiveness, it's one tool in their tool chest, and that's what its purpose is. I don't know if that's what the mask mandate was for originally. But that's what it had become by some time well before the vaccines were available in anticipation of them. Stopping the spread of the virus, or reducing the number of people who will get sick from it on the way to achieving herd immunity, are not things that masks can do.

Cole labors to paint the actions of the rebelling soldiers about which he writes as foolish and without just cause. He doesn't mention whether or not those soldiers were drafted. I assume that as a rule they were. And if that is the case, then that is a very relevant datum that should be considered when passing judgment.

Yeah... It's Congress's fault that her city is a cesspool. Has nothing to do with 90 straight years of Democrat mayors implementing stupid policies.

I just found a trove of articles Jeffrey Tucker has written this year, including a bunch since the last one that appeared on the AIER website. So it looks like he's still pretty much just as active in writing. I guess I would have known about this if I used Twitter. https://www.realclearmarkets.com/authors/jeffrey_tucker/

NOPE. You ignore the ones that are the most obvious. Plus, if you really think they are paid trolls, why do you continue to bring them back up to the top of any post- if you put them on ignore then they won't get much attention & would easily fade away.

That's the thing. If the GOP ever does try being a party of smaller government, those folks will just flip right back to being Democrats again.

This will not slow or reverse radicalization. It will drive more people towards radicalization and entrench those who are already there more deeply. This is obvious enough to me that it makes me wonder if that's the actual point.

I not only don't know you're right, I think your idea is ludicrous on every level. Who could possibly benefit from paying anyone to post here? Unless it's spam with a link where maybe they get pennies every time someone follows the link. Are the Illuminati worried about Ron Paul running for president again in 2024, and they think they can shut him down by throwing cold water on the two dozen people who still frequent this site?

How long is your list of people you think are getting paid by someone to post here? It seems like pretty much every time you disagree with someone about something that's the reason. Nobody could possibly have a different viewpoint than you unless they have some ulterior profit motive. And if they do post something you disagree with, that's going to ruin this website. Because the success of an internet forum depends on the total unanimity of its posters on the issues discussed. Heaven forfend you actually have to back up your viewpoint with reasons aimed at convincing those who don't already share it.

I get that protectionists think this way. But that doesn't make it any better. Other countries having protectionist policies is never an excuse to support America having them too. It doesn't matter if there's a level playing field. Protectionism is always bad.

Thats great. I hope whatever you two learned sticks forever. We're really struggling financially and of course we have other problems, but we're together, pretty happy and have faith that it will be OK.
I forget where you went. Can you tell me about the place? I also wnt to know (if you want to tell me) where you took her on date night. On our date night we went out to dinner and had some horrible conch fritters. NEVER AGAIN on conch fritters. But then we went out to a bar on the beach, and took a moonlight walk. Wound up nekked making love on the beach and got caught by a couple walking by. Allin all it was a great trip. Our's was in Delray Beach Florida.

I do not think your wife would have any problem finding a nursing job up here. My sister-in-law is going back to school just so she can become a nurse and she plans on moving here from Florida, that was the reason for her career change. They have visiting nurses. There are lots of good hospitals like Dartmouth Hitchcock.
