They've been pushing this for decades and stupid Americans tolerated it. It is amazing how well the campaign for the doctrine of tolerance has succeeded. I suspect Theye spent years pinching themselves, disbelieving that a population as large as America's could be so bottomlessly stupid as to accept such blatantly idiotic fare. And yet, here we are. It's mind numbing to consider that the mean American is like a slightly retarded gopher.

I suppose as a pro forma matter, the letter is the right move. I hope neither Rand Paul nor anyone else for that matter will for the least split of a second believe anything NSA has to say, short of a full and liberty-ending confession from the guilty. Perhaps it cannot be done as a matter of Law, but what should have happened was a large armed contingent marched into NSA, every employee save a select few, booted out of the buildings, and an army of grim-faced forensic auditors and other investigators marched in and set to finding the real truth. When found, the guilty parties up to and including the Director are tried, convicted, and put to death - no appeals. This is the only way to stop Themme in their tracks. The costs of corruption must outweigh its rewards by so vast a margin that no man possessing an IQ would ever consider the wrong path, no matter how well rationalized the sales pitch made to him. Until we start taking the instruments of government to the woodshed in a serious and mostly fatal fashion, we shall continue on our merry way down the death spiral.

Are we a republic in anything other than name? I would assert that we are not. Fiat issues from single men and the entire armed governmental body points its guns to enforce. Does that sound like that which a republic is supposed to be? China calls itself a "republic". Does anyone with an IQ believe them not to be filthy liars? I'm not sure we were ever an actual republic, but I can say that there was a time when we were far closer to it than we now find things.

Question: why would anyone of nominal intellect want to rebutt people so stupid as to believe such nonsense? I generally ignore them... mainly because I cannot legally run them over with my dump truck.

We as a species seem overly and dangerously prone to this. I think you're probably on the money. The post, however, is not targeted to the mean man for exactly those reasons. Pearls before swine and all that. And yet, I do believe that "Law" can be defined in an objective, rigorous, and universally demonstrable way.

Don't know who he was... nonetheless, all best to those he left behind. As to having gotten the shot, that might be the cause right there. Not sure anyone should be allowing the jab under any circumstance, but anybody with the least health issue should by no means submit themselves to it. That is what I would call pulling the tiger's tail.

I see a problem here. You seem to think that written style is somewhere as important as content. It is important to a point, but it takes a back seat to the valence of that about which one is writing; truth, accuracy, and sufficient completeness in those matters being of paramount importance. Judging by what I wrote, you'd count yourself fortunate to have me as your student. Don't hold your breath. I don't need a hook. I have a topic, but thanks for the advice.

Oh dear... where to begin. Let is ignore your appeal to authority fallacy. I, too, am a professional writer. I have written patents, design documents, architecture documents, project plans, contracts, test plans, executive summarys, screenplays, books, and so on down a fair list. What in hell does any of that have to do with the fact that you are not at all clear in your written style? OK, so you're saying you're not? Finally, I understand you.

So far as I can see, you're not understanding what I am writing in the least. Firstly, I didn't ask for a definition of "organicism", but "organic" because that was the word you used. Secondly, your use of "organic" is all over the place and making little sense. I suspect you need to slow down and collect your thoughts. Thirdly, complexity has nothing to do with the degree of organicity in a system, unless of course you are using some definition of "organic" that is alien to me. For the record, to be "organic" is to be "instrumental". An organ is literally an instrument - a means. That is the original and proper meaning of the word. All other uses are dangerous and ill-advised as such use adds to the already mountainous heaps of bullshit and ignorance that already pollutes our lives. It's very bad juju.

The national debt is irrelevant and of no necessary consequence... which, of course, is not to say that unpleasant consequences can't befall us. Because a dollar is literally nothing at all, save a promissory note, and given that the promises have been made with absolutely no actual authority by a tiny body of men purporting to speak for the rest of us, our so-called "debt" does not perforce have to be a problem for anyone, save perhaps the central banks. If the world turns its back to those institutions in sufficient unison, there is (at least in principle) little to nothing they could do about it. The disturbingly dangerous bit there, however, lies in the question of where did all those decades of Pentagon "black budgets" actually go? Given the current state of our technologies, those of the CRISPER ilk most especially, those banks could in theory hold in their hands the effective military might of all the world's armies summed and multiplied many times. Vast legions of troops, replete with uniforms, rifles, training, tanks, aircraft, artillery, naval vessels, missiles, and nuclear warheads are easily identified, located, targeted, and reduced through gross warfare. But a cabal of mass murdering loons with perhaps hundreds of even thousands of strains of deadly organisms may lie hidden in plain sight, their dangerous instruments requiring naught but release into the environment, where nature will take care of all the rest. A bit of a digression, but it all relates to the current global power structures and what might be precipitated upon those who dare threaten them.

Define "organic"? I'm not grokking the point of the question, given the context. Color me dull. I'm not seeing the connection here. Color me even duller. Color me dullest, for I see not the connections here, but do see self-contradiction. Help me out here.

Was Wright a lefty? Given his apparent Bauhaus lean in terms of architecture, I cannot say I would be particularly surprised. I find no virtue in expressionless architecture. I find every virtue in that which conveys art of some form, even if simple. But sterility in architecture leaves me cold. The Bauhaus boxes of the Gropius ilk, though utilitarian, reflect what I might call "over-economy". "Tis the gift to be simple, tis the gift to be free" has its place, but so do expressions of joy and optimism, especially in architecture. The drab and depressing uniformity of Bauhaus, with its message of dull compliance and the worship of a certain brand of universal poverty, seem to me revolting in the extreme. A plain glass box here and there may be refreshing, but when the entire island of Manhattan was infected with them like giant viruses on the landscape... meh. Dull. Boring. Too reminiscent of communist filth. I find the irony of universal uniformity amusing in the face of the left's endless whinging and mooing about "diversity". Those people are willful idiots. I found it interesting when in the 80s a few architects began daring to take tentative steps away from the dreary boxes of suicidal depression. One of the early examples was the AT&T building, a box graced with a Chippendale accent atop it. Pretty timid stuff, but at least someone was trying to break away from the mindfuck that is communist architecture, which is the world's worst... perhaps even the galaxy's. Once in the late 1980s I was driving through northeastern Hungary with some cousins and we drove by "Stalin City" (now renamed). The simple act of witnessing that soviet-style mass of concrete depression was enough to make one start casting about for a pistol to place in his own mouth. I find architecture to be a reliable indicator of where a culture's head is living. Clearly, America was in a far better space during the Art Deco era, than it has been ever since.

You need to take a basic class in reading comprehension. "Real change" != perforce a "solution". Your read assumes facts not in evidence, such as this false equivalency. You interpreted my words through your filters. BIG error. Good grief.

I find it amazing to consider just how hopelessly corrupt a land we are, and have been for so very long a time when I read things like this. To think not only that some people would dare usurp the authority to remove those which are the most obvious prerogatives of free men, but also that we as a people would
