What a heart wrenching story. One problem. It's bullshit. Her ward in the hospital she works in has ZERO covid patients.

An Alabama physician glumly says she is making "a lot of progress" in encouraging people to vaccinate – as she struggles to keep them alive. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/im-sorry-but-its-too-late-unvaccinated-patients-beg-for-shot-new-infections-nearly-triple-in-two-weeks-covid-news/ar-AAMo3NS Dr. Brytney Cobia, a hospitalist at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, wrote in a recent Facebook post she is treating a lot of young, otherwise healthy people for serious coronavirus infections. "One of the last things they do before they're intubated is beg me for the vaccine," she wrote. "I hold their hand and tell them that I'm sorry, but it's too late." Start the day smarter. MIT Says Anti-Vaxxers Aren’t So Stupid, After All https://www.libertynation.com/mit-says-anti-vaxxers-arent-so-stupid-after-all/ Sophisticated and scientifically literate – how a new study describes people who resist the needle. By: Pennel Bird July 25, 2021 To say we have largely bungled the national and international response to a coronavirus with an overall survivability rate of 99.26% according to CDC (99.997% if you’re below the age of 25) is axiomatic. Of course, we have – and a new study out of MIT suggests that those who are still skeptical of the state-approved pandemic response might be a lot smarter than they are being portrayed.

I am refusenik! Refusenik as a word Although Refusenik originally had a precise meaning – those denied exit from the Soviet Union – its meaning diverged rapidly away from this sense. It began to be used to mean "outsider" for groups other than Russian Jews and later to mean "those who refuse" rather than its original sense of "those who are refused". David Feldman, for example, wrote an article called "The government should not impose a faulty definition of antisemitism on universities" in The Guardian in December 2020. In this he says: "His letter demands action by Christmas, and threatens swingeing measures against refusenik institutions that later suffer antisemitic incidents". The word in this context is being used in a discussion about antisemitism, preserving the original association with Jews, but is used about institutions not people, and about institutions in the UK not Russia, with the meaning that they are refusing rather than they are being refused. In an article in New Statesman in November 2020, Donald Trump was called the "refusenik-in-chief" when he refused to quit office. Mattha Bushby writing in The Guardian uses the term for people who have turned down honours from the UK state. In October 2020, Hugo Rifkind, writing in The Times used the term to refer to people who refused to wear facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic a sense that has been used by other reporters, such as Mark Davenport for the BBC.

America Goes Jonestown https://www.ericpetersautos.com/2021/07/24/america-goes-jonestown/ By eric - July 24, 2021 When cults feel threatened by lack of faith – by disbelief – the tendency is for them to get suicidally and homicidally violent. This is the stage we’re entering now as regards the Cult of Sickness Eternal. Its leaders and membership are fulminating over the lack of faith being expressed by an alarmingly large (to them) portion of the population that does not believe they will die – or even get sick – if they don’t receive the Holy Anointing.

Czech Senate Approves Amendment Granting Right to Bear Arms in Constitution https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2021/07/24/czech-senate-approves-amendment-granting-right-to-bear-arms-in-constitution/ Chris Tomlinson 24 Jul 2021 The senate of the Czech Republic has approved adding a right to self-defence with a weapon to its Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms following a successful petition campaign. A total of 54 of the 74 senators voted to amend the charter, surpassing the needed three-fifths majority of votes, and will become law once signed by Czech president Milos Zeman, who has previously expressed support for a European Second Amendment and is unable to veto the constitutional change in any case.

In a word from my youth, "Kosher"...

Though if you are trying out 13.0, hopefully you have a lot better luck with it than I have had. I can only get Salix to run with gl support on the newer machine (dual 2.2ghz, 1gb nvidia 8600). Though I figured there might be a problem with this older machine from a thread in the slackware forums at linuxquestions. I don't remember exactly what was said, but basically a person had stated it was best to stick with 12.2 because of intel problems. I'll try for a few more days, then I'll just scrap the OS and use the third HD as a back up for my Slack 12.2.

Oh, also, you should check out sbopkg if you haven't done so yet. Gives a person an ncurses menu driven selection of Slackbuilds. It's quite useful.
