You do realize that the PCR test is both useless and pointless.. and that Covid-19 has never been isolated.. (it is a fabricated name) Do you also realize that it is described as a novel coronavirus,, which is a Cold,, and not Influenza at all.

If the Republican Party is to be taken seriously on the federal level, then it behooves it to support a ticket similar to, say, Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie in 2024. Otherwise, it'll be a waste of time.

How so? There would still be factions within any seceded areas that would support things such as fiat-based central banking and gun control. Even granting that tribalism might not necessarily always be a bad thing, I'm inclined to think it turns out to be a bad thing far more often than it turns out to be a good thing (or even just a neutral one). However, I suppose one could argue that this is only because it is so often "weaponized" by the state (or by various factions seeking control of state power). Even so, tribalism manifested in the form of "weaponized tribal collectivism" would nevertheless still be objectionable, even if mere "tribalism" was not. In any case, though, tribalism is certainly a form of collectivism (whether it is "weaponized" or not), so I would not be at all opposed to removing the word "tribal" from the phrase "weaponized tribal collectivism" if only because it is redundant.

That's why the Mises Caucus platform (see post #2 above) does not mention either of those issues. The national LP should eliminate the abortion and immigration planks from its platform, too (and just let individual nominees/candidates stake out their own positions on those issues). Maybe that will actually happen, if the Mises Caucus can win enough state delegations to one of the national conventions. Secession. Separation. Nullification. Non-compliance.

This time, it didn't explode. (Scott Manley is also a big fan of KSP, BTW. ABCDEFG.) SpaceX's Starship Prototype Takes To The Skies And Returns Safely After A week of preparation the latest Starship Prototype SN15 successfully demonstrated the complete landing maneuver required for Starship to operate. The flight was mostly hidden behind a layer of clouds which blocked cameras on the ground, and because the onboard cameras weren't delivering video data as expected. However after a flight to 10 kilometers and a descent in a high drag belly flop orientation the vehicle relit its engines, returned to the vertical and carefully came to a stop on the landing pad.

To paraphrase Albert Einstein, "A position should be as simple as possible, but no simpler than necessary." It is a perfectly sensible and valid criticism of Breitbart et al. that they seem not to have nearly as much of a problem with this kind of policy, so long as whitey is not excluded from the line for handouts (or relegated to the back of that line). But that is properly a criticism only of Breitbart et al., and not of objections to the overt racism of the policy. As proper and correct as it is to criticize and reject this policy (and others like it) on grounds that such handout programs shouldn't exist at all in the first place, that alone is not sufficient to exhaust the genus of serious problems inherent to the policy. Such an approach is certainly simple, but it is also "simpler than necessary." The racialist and other "intersectional" bigotries being inculcated by the addition of Woke qualifications to already-objectionable policies are an entirely legitimate cause for concern and alarm.

Unregistered 164: Laney Sweet I was honored to be joined by Laney Sweet, whose husband Daniel Shaver was shot to death by a Mesa, Arizona police officer in 2016. The officer was acquitted of murder and is now receiving a pension from the Mesa Police Department. To do this date, Laney has received no financial compensation from Mesa or any other government entity. If we’re ever going to have a national movement that will meaningfully reform the criminal justice system, we will need to listen to people like Laney Sweet and we will need to make people like Daniel Shaver as famous as George Floyd. Speaking from the Cathedral's strategic POV, completely ignoring him is about the best and smartest thing they could do. Actually engaging with him or any of his material (including his LoS stuff) would be disastrous for them. Dave doesn't care what they think of him, and the non-Woke will see right through their artificial "outrage." Many red pills would be dispensed as a result. The Cathedral is nothing if not un-self-aware, though, so they might well make the mistake of trying to cancel him.

The whole premise is faulty. The nom is theirs to give away? How so? If the nom is anyone's to distribute as they see fit, it's the media's. The vast majority of GOP primary voters still vote for whichever name they heard the most.

Since when is the "We got a badass over here" meme "gay"? It's been all over the interwebz for many moons and it's used by all sorts of folks. There are several samples in the various "bestest picture thread evarrr"-s.
  8. The reason I have no use for monarchies is it's complete pot luck what you get. If your generation gets a Victoria, you could be in worse shape (assuming her advisors aren't lying to her about what they're doing), but if you get an Ivan the Terrible you're screwed. I prefer a system that at least holds out hope for nonviolent revolution, whether people are generally smart enough to use it or not.

And I'm pretty sure you meant neither Bismarck nor the kaiser.

    President von Hindenburg

You're right, I should have said the Kaiser, not Bismarck. :/ (My WWI history is rather rusty...I do remember Hitler suffered from mustard gas inhalation during that war and a bunch of other factoids) Yeah, monarchs have been somewhat fascist in certain occasions, but they always had incentive not to destroy their subjects' economy or their own respective societies as presidents and prime ministers or even legislators do. (such elected officials almost always leave office very wealthy and almost never face justice for their misdeeds) Generally speaking, the best to worst scale goes- voluntary association with government>hereditary monarchy>monarchy>classical republicanism>modern constitutionalism>democracy etc.

What has it to do with politics? Everything. Politicians piss us off, then try to misdirect our anger 'across the aisle' to people who are fundamentally exactly the same, but wear a different party label. The game is age old, but still works.

People are angry, but they are often in denial about it. They know they're angry, but they don't want to admit they're angry
