Where are all those thousands of $ going? Are there any TV or radio ads broadcast in the area?

I think he's planning on spending most of his $2 Million in an ad blitz the last few weeks of the campaign. Starting a few weeks before early voting and using it all up by the day of ellection day.
He's been doing some mass mailers with it now though. I agree though. Since it's obvious he'll probably have at least $3 Million, he needs to start spending more of it now I think. Tracy |

I'd rather he burn the money on gas and fundraising mailers for now rather than advertisements half a year prior to the election.

I think he only has to gain with advertisements. More money will pour in from us when we see he is running them, offsetting the cost. They could put a nice ad on the website and have a ticker "help us run this ad all over Kentucky" and start running it as the dollars roll in.

It doesn't seem like television advertisements would be very efficient in a closed republican primary in a non-presidential election year.
Talk radio ads are a good idea, but I would say it's still too soon. January would be a good time to start, with the primary 5 months later in May. |

For all this talk that HL spawed about getting the "narrative" out there. It seems to me that as long as Rand is willing to hit as many events as possible attended by GOP PRIMARY voters, he is doing what is best to get that "narrative" out there. What better way to get to know the man than to meet him in person and hear him speak. That is gonna be way more effective than radio and tv ads at this time. When probably 80% of the people hearing those ads won't bother voting in the primary. I bet the % of people that WILL be voting in the primary is much higher at these events.

Rand Paul spoke at a community center the other day. Bill Johnson was there and he brought along Alan Keyes.
![]() Madison County Right to Life will have a Candidates Night today at 7 p.m. at Church on the Rock on Berea Road. Guest speakers will be Dr. Alan Keyes and Robert Heft. Other participants on the program are Andy Barr, Bill Johnson, Matt Lockett and David Adams who will represent Rand Paul. What's Frey Slayson been doing lately? |

Damn. You know, Johnson has absolutely no chance anyway, but hanging out with a well-known birther nutjob like Alan Keyes is really the icing on the cake. He'll never win statewide office now.

I have great confidence that the campaign is spending money as it needs to be spent. It's probably unwise for them to discuss the details on a public forum though.
I still feel like Jill's job is to attack Rand on anything Treyson can't, split the conservative vote and help Treyson win. Just another tactic of the establishment. Best just to ignore him as much as possible.
