There is another thread about Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at Columbia. I think this would be an excellent opportunity for Ron Paul's campaign. If Paul could meet with him, it would give his claim that the U.S. should "talk with other nations and be their friends" excellent credibility.
Email Mahmoud Ahmadinejad...ask him to meet with Ron Paul. http://www.president.ir/en/ (Email Form) dr-ahmadinejad@president.ir Who knows, maybe they will reply like the president of Switzerland did to one of our people awhile back. |

I am 50-50 on this idea.
Would it give Dr. Paul the Jane Fonda image, instantly making him hated by millions who know absolutely nothing about him except that he met with Ahmadinejad?

While in a logical world such a meeting would be excellent and right, we have to remember that there are about six news agencies and millions of zombies out there. I think for now as a candidate he should avoid a meeting, but he should absolutely continue to say that as president, he would talk with Iran and open up trade. People are waking up following the more slow but steady approach.

ummm...................... I dont know about this.
I personally think it would be great, but you know how they would spin this on Fox and CNN? They would say "Ron Paul finally proven a traitor by speaking to man that wants to destroy the US and Israel!!" Millions of people would hear crap like that and believe it even though its not true. I thnk most RP supporters would think it was a good thing, but those still undecided might be a little sheepish about something like this and just use their emotions and see this as something bad without even thinking about it. Thats just me though.

If everyone in the US was smart, then I would say do it. But since the majority is stupid I would say leave it alone for right now. Lets wait until after he is president. Bubba just won't get it.

I disagree. I think this gives what he says more credibility. In fact, I think he'd get another big round of national media coverage. |
