Supposedly, Paul sent out a video where he supposedly admitted he cannot win the White House.
What's the straight dope on this? Can he? Did he? Where do we stand right now? |

Yes he sent out this video. No, he cannot still win the nomination (unless McCain dies).
He is still in the race though. The campaign is now about advancing the message, and getting our people into positions of power in the republican party. We are taking back the power centers one by one, just as they took them from us. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...91679758430958 |

No, he is not out of the race. He has conceded that conventional victory in the sense of a nomination is quite unlikely, but he feels that great progress can still be made with his campaign. He is still actively campaigning, and is also encouraging the ongoing delegate endeavors. Hopefully, he will head to the GOP convention with 100 delegates or so.
Ron Paul is still running. And by the way, BJ Lawson, who Ron Paul has endorsed, just won his congressional primary in North Carolina in a landslide. He got over 70% of the vote. lawsonforcongress.com I would encourage you to donate. |

Hypothetically, If John McCain pulls it out in Nov 2008, IF/WHEN, McCain loses to Cancer, it's his VP that will be the major concern... being less of an election target, he won't be under as much scrutiny, look for a Pro Lieberman-Israeli/Zionist specialist with a shot at the presidency.

If McCain kicks the bucket before the presidential candidate is chosen, does RP win by default?

nope, they still goto convention and vote. I'm sure Huckabee or Romney will re-enter the race if he dies. I'm not sure what the status would be of McDeath's pledged delegates. It could result in a brokered convention.

Look for a McInsane/Bush ticket (Jeb Bush). On the other side it will likely be Clinton/Obama. In this way the Clinton/Bush saga will continue. My personal feeling is that McInsane is only in this race to throw it to his buddy Clinton who has already bribed enough delegates to win the nomination. The rhetoric against her VP Obama is nothing more than WWE dramatization... Also, I think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be unbeatable by any of the republican candidates EXCEPT Ron Paul, the champion! |
