Thumbs up Real ID ban passes MN house and senate (still needs governor's signature)

From thetruthaboutminnesota.org:

Quote:
Minnesota Citizens Win BIG!
House Passes HF 1438 to Prohibit
Compliance With The REAL ID Act!

The Senate passed their version (SF 0984) of this prohibition in April 2007. The bill now goes to Governor Pawlenty for his signature. Though it is in our best interest to maintain our individual privacy in keeping with the protections of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article I Section 10 of the Minnesota Constitution, there is no guarantee that Governor Pawlenty will sign it!

Let's make sure he does sign this bill to stop the Big Brother federal government from further invading our space and privacy. Join with us and show your support for this bill by sending an email to Governor Pawlenty (tim.pawlenty@state.mn.us) and following that up with a call to his office at:

Telephone: (651) 296-3391
Toll Free: (800) 657-3717

Support this bill prohibiting the REAL ID Act in Minnesota! It is BIG BROTHER intrusive, too expensive to comply with and will in NO way stop terrorism or illegal immigration!

PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL AND MAKE A CALL TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE TODAY!

Thank You!
TTAM

Nice! What are the odds of Pawlenty signing it? I guess we'll find out if he's in the pocket of TPTB.

I heard on MN public radio that Governor Pawlenty (R) is expected to veto this bill.
