Well broadcast everywhere except in the United States - no station would broadcast it. The Russian diplomat was brief and closed his remarks with: The United States would do well to remember that Russia is still a nuclear superpower.

More news from diff. parts:

http://tearsforlebanon.wordpress.com...-from-lebanon/

Army Commander Gen. Michel Suleiman on Monday ordered his officers to be ready to prevent the Israelis from occupying Lebanon or attacking Syria from Lebanon.
Suleiman made the orders in a meeting with members of his command and commanders of major units at his office in Suburban Yarze, east of Beirut, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Suleiman urged his commanders to “achieve high combat readiness of their units to confront all expected probabilities, especially defending the southern land, maintain domestic security and stability,” the report said.

He noted that the troops’ “basic duty is to prevent the Israeli enemy from occupying Lebanese territories or attempting to use them as a passage to launch an aggression against Arab brethren.”

Suleiman reiterated “the army’s determination, backed by the people and the resistance, to confront any new Israeli aggression with all available means and capabilities. Defending the land is a sacred right consolidated by international charters, it is a national priority that deserves unifying resources and efforts.”

The army commander stressed that his troops would not fall back “if the enemy decided to occupy the south, because abandoning this territory means abandoning the whole of Lebanon.”

If America invades one more nation, I am seriously leaving the country...

Good luck to the rest of you, I am sure you'll find some new cottage industry that can use all that new glass we'll have where our cities once stood.

for crying out loud cut it with the paranoia stories! one friggin foreign paper posts a dubious story and everyone gets all riled up about it!

may i remind you all that its just one friggin aegis cruiser? those things aren't even capable of offensive attack, the aegis missiles are meant to shoot down incoming cruise missiles from other planes or ships. if the USS cole is our entire attack force on syria, then the syrians are laughing their asses off right now

Cinderella, you're missing the point here. NEITHER of us actually want a draft; we want SOMETHING, ANYTHING to wake up and unite the American sheeple against all this.

Incidentally, I am too old for the draft but I have 3 children, the oldest of whom is 16, that I most certainly DO NOT want to be drafted and 3 of my brothers and 2 of my nieces are all within draft age and I have numerous other friends and family that are either within draft age or will be soon.

Aside from all that, I don't want the people I don't even know (and some that I do know) who are already in the military fighting these endless wars for empire nor do I want you or anyone else being drafted. I was vocally against the Iraq war from the beginning and have continued to speak out against it. The very LAST thing I want is MORE wars, more death and destruction, more lives destroyed and more hatred created in the world.

I just want people to wake up and fight against this.

Paranoia stories? I doubt we'd be real happy if a hostile country parked one of their war boats off our coast.

I don't care what kind of warship it is, it's STILL a provocative move on our part. And since past history is one of the best predictors of future behavior, I'd say jorge boooosh is up to no good.

He's destroying this country, and others, one move at a time, and yes, I'm going to continue to be outraged. Color me extremely paranoid.

Default Urgent..

Syria calls its army reserve

This is reported in many Arab newspapers since yesterday [Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Al-watan Voice], all the links refer to the Lebanese forces web site [I couldn’t find it]:

Israel deployed three “Saar” naval corvettes, three Patriot batteries and eight military battalions on the southern Lebanon and the Golan, bout 20 bulldozer prepared places for the stationed soldiers. this development

Syria and Lebanon are aware of development, Armies of both countries are in high alert.

Lebanese newspaper Sada Al-Balad, reported today that Syrian workers in Lebanon told the work-owners, they must leave Lebanon and go back home before 10-March to join the army because the Syria authority called the reserve soldiers in the recent high alert situation.

Remember the last invasion of Israel into Lebanon (last year.) They dropped 4 million cluster bombs (complete with all their little bomblets)on Lebanon in three days. Many of these are still undetonated until happened upon by innocent civilians, curious children. I guess that $30 billion your prez recently pledged to Israel should replenish the stocks.

He was evidently in a good mood about something yesterday tapdancing away in front of the media. Do you think it is because the economy is dying; or because Iraqis are dying; or American troops are dying; or because soon everyone in the world will die?? Beats me! he is nothing if not enigmatic.
