Default Ron Paul wins Gaston County, NC GOP Straw Poll (unofficial)

From: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/52/boards/...e=yes#10557939

This just in... Results from the Gaston County Straw Poll:

RON PAUL: 36.6%
Fred Thomson: 31.7%
Huckabee: 9.8%
Gingrich: 7.3%
Romney: 7.3%
Guiliani: 4.9%
McCain: 2.4%

And the best part is, he won with more votes than the number of out-of-towners who showed up!

Peace,
BJ

We stuck around for another hour after it was over, talking to some of the Gaston county locals too. I dunno if any minds were changed, but I think we got some to realize there is another candidate out there that deserves a look.

The Gaston county chairperson seemed a little nonplussed to see us beat Fred, but he said there would be another vote in a few months. OK. Just more time for us to round up even yet more RP attendees.

Oh I'd say probably 2/3 of the Ron votes came from NC meetups, and we may have picked up a couple locals in the total.

This was a pretty intimate little gathering... Local GOP functionaries, county comissioners, a couple of state legislators, the county district attorney. The "new faces" were obvious to them, but I heard later that they were glad to see activists come anyway and show some enthusiasm for the GOP.

Wow, What a bunch of lies.

Gaston County

Fred Thomson: 36.7%
Mike Huckabee: 26.8%
Ron Paul: 13.2%
Newt Gingrich: 7.1%
Mitt Romney: 6.4%
Rudy Guiliani: 5.2%
John McCain: 4.6%

Are we just looking for press?

Maybe we should look over posts more before we actually post them.
I found that added to the link that was posted

so if it weren't for the grassroots he would have about 12 % still, right? How many people in total, 100?
