Thread: Why does every piece of fruit have to have a sticker?

  1. #1

Why does every piece of fruit have to have a sticker?

Edit/update: How about wax, can we get a free market in freedom from waxed food?

Why does every piece of fruit have to have a sticker, and how can we get the Gov't to leave us alone?

If it didn't have a sticker, how would you know it was safe to eat?
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

It contains Vitamin A (Adhesive). I'm sure we're all fine for eating residual glue.

I recall reading on a trivia thing that those stickers are actually rated as edible by the USDA.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

It appears that artificial intelligence is at least slightly superior to natural stupidity.

Our words make us the ghosts that we are.

Convincing the world he didn't exist was the Devil's second greatest trick; the first was convincing us that God didn't exist.

So that the number on the sticker can be put into the cash register computer?

2nd year in a row we had a late freeze that prevented fruiting on our 'cot.
There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

That is a good point. With many items the cashiers have it memorized, and/or they can look it up, and/or use a touch screen with images and descriptions.

That's if you have a human cashier. All of my stores have the self-check-outs, so you have to enter it yourself. Or go through a menu of pictures.

That's what I thought. I don't know if they had these when they weighed stuff in produce. I assume they did. I don't get the stuff about edible stickers either. It looks like regular paper to me.

Sorry to hear that; I know the feeling. Last year, the plum tree was doing great, tiny fruit coming in all over... then deer got to it. They ate every fruit and every leaf on the 5 ft tall tree.

Supermarket has about 10+ different kinds of apples . . . Gala or Gala Organic etc. etc.

I just bite out and spit out the sticker and apple skin . . . avoids the toxic glue residue.
