PM: Palestinian self-rule government is in "extreme jeopardy"; Lack of Funds

AP Interview: Palestinian PM warns of cash crisis

    Associated Press
    Jan. 6, 2013

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) -- The Palestinian self-rule government is in "extreme jeopardy" because of an unprecedented financial crisis, largely because Arab countries have failed to send hundreds of millions of dollars in promised aid, the Palestinian prime minister said Sunday.

The cash crunch has gradually worsened in recent years, and the Palestinian Authority now has reached the point of not being able to pay the salaries of about 150,000 government employees, Salam Fayyad told The Associated Press. The number of Palestinian poor is bound to quickly double to 50 percent of the population of roughly 4 million if the crisis continues, he said.

"The status quo is not sustainable," Fayyad said in an interview at his West Bank office.

Doesn't help that Israel is withholding the tax revenue they collect from the people they enslave.

If Palestine ever does attain statehood it would be a failed state regardless. Their entire economy is supported through foreign aid and most of it ends of in the hands of its corrupt leaders.

The only reason tax funds where withheld is because Abbas refuses to negotiate a settlement and instead is pushing full speed ahead with his policy of unilateral decisions and bypassing talks.

And Israel is willing to negotiate on anything? No. They continue to build settlements, continue to occupy Syrian and Lebanese territory. Continue to blockade Gaza's sea port, refuse to allow Gaza to reopen its airport, refuse to allow construction materials into Gaza, severely limit trade in all Palestinian territories, refuse to accept that East Jerusalem is part of a future Palestinian state...

    $#@! Israel.

    What lebanese territory?

Syrian? The Golan heights was won by Israel. You cant cover up decades of arab military defeats. It has a majority Jewish population now and the possibility of it going to Syria is ridiculous. For what? So Assad can slaughter the people living there too? Or do you support Assads right to slaughter citizens but Israel to build condos in the suburbs of its capital is out of the question.

Israel removed itself from Gaza in 2005. 10,000 Israelis were forced out of their homes in an attempt to achieve "peace" what happened? The Palestinians had a civil war on the strip, Hamas took over and used the territory as a pad to launch attacks into Israel. This is after Israel unilaterally left the strip. There was no blockade or any restrictions it surrender the territory to the PA. After these actions the blockade and other measures where put in place to STOP attacks from the strip.

The success of the pullout from Gaza was to determine future plans to withdraw entirely or in part from the west bank. So much for that...

Jerusalem as a whole is a majority jewish. Same with East Jerusalem. No one in Israel is going to go back to the "peace" of 1948 or 1967. Israel won East jerusalem after defending itself from an invasion by neighboring Arab States. The Arabs had 20 years when they held onto it, the west bank, and gaza to make a Palestinian state. They didnt.

Israel illegally occupies the Golan Heights. It does not have a majority Jewish population, although Israel has constructed various illegal settlements there.

And I don't buy the Zionist propaganda about Assad, and anyway, that's not the issue here. The issue is that Israel continues to illegal occupy and settle on Syrian land.

Israel left Gaza because their illegal settlements there were too hard to defend. Don't pretend it was a real gesture of peace. And they haven't left, they still control all border points, including the border with Egypt.

That's ridiculous. Israel has no intention of ever giving up the land it has stolen in the West Bank. Why else do they continue to build thousands of homes there?

East Jerusalem, despite massive amounts of illegal Zionist settlements, is still 57% Muslim.

Anyway, Israel shouldn't exist at all. I can't wait for the day for the Zionist experiment to finally implode on itself.

Shebaa farms is 9km of uninhabited land that is also Claimed by Syria. If Shebaa farms is one of the biggest crimes of the "Evil Zionist Regime" then some things need to be put into perspective.

According to the UN (Known worldwide as being a huge supporter of Israel) Israel established a jewish majority in East Jerusalem in 1993: http://unispal.un.org/unispal.nsf/f4...b?OpenDocument

Jewish birthrates in jerusalem have surpassed that of Arab Birthrates as well. And regardless Jerusalem, the city itself, is majority Jewish.

The Left wing governments of Barak and Olmert both offered the entirety of the west bank and east jerusalem to the PA and earlier the PLO under Arafat. Both offers were rejected.

But none of that matters because no matter what Israel does even if its destroying settlements youll simply say "It wasnt genuine they just couldnt maintain them" or something similar.

Also the Gaza border with Egypt was controlled by Egypt and Egypt maintained its own separate blockade of Gaza but I dont see you criticizing them for it only israel.

Also according to the BBC (Well known as a zionist front) the golan heights has 20k Israelis forming a majority of the population: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-14724842

Anyway you should get used to the evil zionist regime because there not going anywhere anytime soon.

Also the fact that your dismissing the slaughter and war in Syria just shows how delusional and hypocritical you are. If your honestly trying to say that everything going on in Syria is a zionist lie and conspiracy theory you should really take a deep breathe and begin to reanalyze your world views a bit.

Atempt to put words in other peoples mouth or assume often?

And, I'd rather not be used to the zionist regime.
