Trump campaign leaves ticket for Tupac at VP debate after Kamala Harris named him ‘best rapper alive’

Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris made the gaffe in a recent interview

By Michael Ruiz | Fox News
Debate preparation expert Robert Barnett joins 'Bill Hemmer Reports' with insight into the first 2020 vice presidential debate.

The Trump campaign is reportedly leaving a vice presidential debate ticket for Tupac Shakur as a jab at Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who recently called the hip-hop icon, who was killed in 1996, the “best rapper alive.”
A Trump campaign adviser shared the news on a press call, according to multiple reports.

“I asked the Trump campaign who Vice President Mike Pence is bringing to tonight’s debate,” CBS News reporter Nicole Sganga tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “A spokesperson responded: ‘Tupac.’”
The Spectator magazine identified that spokesperson as Jason Miller, a senior campaign adviser.

In contrast, Trump team including POTUS-FLOTUS-FDOTUS have close ties and displayed strong awareness of rap music artists and culture on numerous occasions.

Underlying point is that messaging/tactics like this coupled with Trump policies of promoting social justice, civil rights, diversity is our strength, DACA etc would also explain recent BLEXIT, LEXIT demographic shifts that are helping rebirth GOP as a modern, pro-diversity, socially liberal progressive party. Trump's diversity initiatives are not limited to just promoting LGBTQ rainbow but full diversity and race/skin color rainbow is also part of Trump-MAGA drive to push GOP towards liberal social values.

Oh...maybe you just failed the "political Rorshack test" and see an attack on Trump when, in this case, there isn't one. Trump's base is going to stick with him no matter what. There is no "reverse psychology" plan afoot by @enhanced_deficit or anyone else. Nobody things that Trump supporters that gave bumpfire stock bans an pass are going to flip out over Trump being friends with rappers.

That said....Trump's also friends with the Clintons.

I thought Trump leaving a ticket for Tupac was actually pretty clever. I wish Pence had asked Harris "So do you still have that hot sauce in your purse? I could use some to make your lies easier to swallow."

Music taste is highly subjective thing but for many it is probably the only 'real music'.
There is also great variety in hip hop genre, rap fusion like Kanye's Homecoming was almost a pop music hit.

But generally rap's critics probably are more numerous too than other generes and some of lyrics get pretty hardcore. This was recent example posted in Rocky ASAP thread recently:

Why would this be shocking? He's easily the most pro diverisity, pro minorities outreach, race relations, social justice POTUS since honest Abe Lincoln at least if not in entire history.

It's just another somewhat interesting political story with a noteworthy aspect that this GOP POTUS is much more fluent in rap music culture than Dem contender. That could be 'shocking' for some in fakenews media informed part of GOP base but recent WEXIT shifts probably had shifited some of those voters to Biden.

Although many MAGA supporters who see him as an outsider businessman non-politician straight shooter might see your statement as an insult if you were implaying that he's just another pandering politician like other professional politicians.

"Racist Trump" image was so 2016 courtesy of calculated Trump campaign tactics/so called 'birther card play' and help from fakenews media, 2020 is an entirely different ballgame with 'diversity is our strength' messaging. Recent WEXIT / BLEXIT trends also attest to that.

Granted critics are right in that MAGA used race card to win election and energize Far Right (many of whom feel betrayed now ) ahead of 2016, but media calling him a 'racist' was fakenews.
There has never been a 'racist' in entire US history who supported racial-mixing , interracial romances. Hip top donor is a socialist liberal and he himself is more liberal than Hillary Clinton whom he used to fund incidentally.

"The president has been operating off of social currency for the past four years, inviting Kanye West to the oval office, helping legitimize Kim Kardashian-West’s criminal justice passion, and helping free ASAP Rocky from jail in exchange for favor from their fans"

That plus Kamala Harris' Tupac gaffe , Ice Cube wearing MAGA hat, P Diddy joining 'Rapprs for Trump' earlier... won't be surprised if many more rappers endorsed Trump over Biden between now and election day. Trump also has a track record going back decades of standing up for diversity, civil rights, Jesse Jackson's rainbow campaign and standing up against Republicans like Pat Buchanan to raise voice for minorities.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Rapper 50 Cent on Monday endorsed Donald Trump for president.

In a social media post, Fif posted a screenshot of a recent financial report on Joe Biden’s alleged tax plan for some states.

The rapper, who lives in New York City, could be hit with a 62% tax rate increase under Biden’s plan, experts said.

Fif’s announcement was met with both praise and criticism. Conservative Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren commented on his post, “Welcome to the Trump Train! Amen!!!!”

Shortly after his post, 50 Cent posted again with the caption, “I just remembered i’m bankrupt, so i’m looking for a gracious loan can anyone help a brother out. LOL.”

Fif’s endorsement comes just days after fellow rapper Ice Cube sparked backlash over his collaboration with Trump on his “Platinum Plan,” which includes initiatives such as “neighborhoods with highest policing standards” and replacing “failing schools.”

From Lil Pump to Waka Flocka, Trump-Supporting Rappers Are Speaking Up

    By Janice Williams On 10/26/20

Lil Pump is the latest rapper to publicly support President Donald Trump.

The Florida rapper, whose real name is Gazzy Garcia, took to Instagram on Sunday to give Trump his official endorsement, first posting a photoshopped picture of himself with the president. "THE DAY I MET TRUMP #trump202022020," he captioned the image.

Later in an Instagram Stories video, Pump went on to further share his Republican support and called out Trump's Democratic opponent Vice President Joe Biden's tax proposal, which would significantly tax individuals grossing more than $400,000 per year.

    "All I gotta say is Trump 2020 b***h. F**k I look like paying 33 in tax for Biden, b**h a** n***a. F**k sleepy Joe n***a. Trump 2020 b***h," Pump said.

Pump's support of Trump comes following a few rappers who have shocked fans with their endorsements of the real estate mogul's second term in the White House in recent weeks.

    Waka Flocka Flame

Fans were in an uproar on Thursday when Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame insinuated that Trump was more fit for the presidency than his predecessor President Barack Obama.
Hip-hop personality and commentator DJ Akademiks shared a clip of a recent speech Obama gave in support of his former VP Biden, and one fan, in the comments section, expressed shock over the fact that there are "people who think Trump is a better President than Obama" along with a clown-face emoji. Flocka replied to the fan's comment and said, "Guess I'm a clown."

    50 Cent

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson sided with Trump after learning of Biden's tax proposal as well. On October 19, he tweeted a screenshot of a Fox News segment which depicted just how heavily people in California, New York City, New York State and New Jersey would be taxed under Biden's plan and wrote: "WHAT THE F*CK! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT, F*CK NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don't care Trump doesn't like black people 62% are you out of ya $#@!ing mind."

    Asian Da Brat

The "Pull up" rapper, formerly known as Asian Doll, shared her unsolicited political opinion in a Tweet on October 12, claiming that she would rather vote for Trump than "that other dude." She took to Instagram that same day to further elaborate on her stance, claiming that she'd rather support Trump based on the monetary gains some Black Americans have made under the 45th president's leadership.
"I f**k with the n***a Trump because the n***a giving out a lot of money right now," Brat said in an Instagram Live session.

    Kanye West

Although he has since rescinded his support and is actually running his own Independent presidential campaign against Trump, Kanye West was one of the first mainstream rappers to publicly endorse Trump when he infamously told concertgoers that he would have voted for Trump over his rival Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election if he had voted at all.
In the days following Trump's election win, West visited the president-elect at Trump Tower in New York City, in which he discussed "multicultural issues" with Trump.
However, in a July interview with Forbes, West claimed he was officially "taking the red hat off," noting that the Trump administration in recent times was appearing to be "one big mess."
