    Rand Paul Accuses Kentucky Governor of Acting Like a Dictator



    Paul accused Beshear and other lawmakers from around the country of making unconstitutional decisions without the will of the people, who have yet to be consulted regarding whether they support the social distancing guidelines that many states have instituted.

    "This isn't about health," Paul continued. "This about using health as an excuse for someone to gain control over our lives. And we now have governors, like in our state — the governor has made all these decisions without consenting the legislature or the people. Without asking for any permission, he's making all these decisions."

    Rand is insinuating that his state is no longer practicing a Republican form of government since the Governor is acting as a dictator. Issuing orders and punishing citizens without the consent of the state legislature or the state senate.

    If Trump agrees with Rand, we may see martial law in Kentucky to remove Beshear and institute a special election for Governor.

    Will federal martial law be a more republican form of government for Kentucky?

    Nope, just a federal dictator. Worse yet.

    The answer is LESS government & more restrictions on the powers granted to gov, not changing the seat of power.

    I didn't know that "states rights" was a libertarian position. Slavery was not libertarian, neither was Jim Crow. The 10th amendment must be interpreted in light of the 9th.

    Now the question comes, what should a free people do about an out of control state government? One is to appeal to the feds for relief. Good luck with that! The other is to ask smaller units of government to resist state tyranny. For instance there are sheriffs in Virginia who have vowed not to enforce the state's newly enacted gun control laws. But ultimately what happens in Kentucky is up to the people of Kentucky. How many have decided "enough is enough" and are willing to go against the lockdown? Who is willing to be like the salon owner in Texas who chose civil disobedience and jail rather than just sitting back and watching her children go hungry? A dictator can only be a dictator as long as the people propping him up allow him to be.

    I've been advocating resistance and defiance all along and not just preaching to the choir here.

    But the people do not have the power to restore a Republican form of government even if they can pressure the tyrants to end certain tyrannical actions, they would be crushed if they tried.
    The Feds have the power and the duty to crush these tyrants and restore a Republican form of government and you seem to object to that happening for some strange reason.
    The Founding Fathers appealed to the King to overrule the tyranny and usurpation of Parliament, we should take their example to heart, no method of fighting for liberty should be shunned...............................UNLESS your goal is to prevent any actual progress towards liberty.

    Great! That way Trump can implement red flag laws in the states that haven't done so already. Good job! Here's a better idea. The local sheriffs that don't agree with the governors orders can simply not enforce them.

    Trump is not going to implement any Red Flag laws and the Governor will if a Republican form of government is not restored.
    Get all the Sheriffs you want to defy the governor, nobody said not to do other things, but not all Sheriffs will do their duty and it is a Federal duty to overthrow these tyrants and restore Republican government.
