Pelosi has a message for Trump: 'Nothing for the wall'

Dems were invited to White House today for briefing on Wall and to end gov shutdown, did not seem to go well and MAGA has been put in a tougher spot as he faces increasing pressure from his base and vocal Right wing pundits like Coulter, Rush. Dems are clearly not abiding by rules of art of the deal.
Earlier today there as this shoch n awe headline:

Pelosi's daughter: My mom will 'cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding'

    And now this:

Pelosi has a message for Trump: 'Nothing for the wall'

"We can go through the back and forth," the incoming House speaker told NBC News in an exclusive interview. "No. How many more times can we say no?"

Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi told NBC's "Today" show in an interview set to air Thursday that she will not provide President Donald Trump with the border wall funding he has demanded and shut down the government over.
Asked by NBC's Savannah Guthrie if she was willing to give up any money specifically for the border wall, Pelosi said "no."
"We can go through the back and forth," Pelosi said in a clip that aired on MSNBC on Wednesday. "No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall."

Even if they do they won't have 2/3rds of both houses to override Trump's veto.

Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.,) the Senate majority leader, said after a meeting at the White House with President Trump and congressional representatives in both parties that the government shutdown could continue for weeks.
“It was a civil discussion. We’re hopeful that somehow in the coming days and weeks we’ll be able to reach an agreement,” McConnell told reporters outside the West Wing on Wednesday.

McConnell added: “As I’ve said for the last two weeks, the Senate will be glad to vote on a measure that the House passes that the president will sign. But we’re not going to vote on anything else.”
McConnell said Wednesday that he would not bring Democratic proposals up for a vote in the Senate — because President Trump would not sign them into law.

I guess for Pelosi the only issue concerning the country is DJT tax returns.
    https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/ho...213500248.html

A decades-old law could soon give Democrats their best shot yet at extracting President Donald Trump 's tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service.

But while the legal path to obtaining and publicly sharing Trump's coveted tax filings may be relatively straightforward, some of the president's supporters have already vowed to resist such a request from Democrats. That refusal could set up an unprecedented legal battle between lawmakers and the Trump administration.

We're being governed ruled by a geriatric Alzheimer patient/puppet whose strings are being pulled by an elitist oligarchy who believe they can manage the world... imagine the utter maniacal, sociopathic hubris!

According to analysis by one of the hot pundits at Fox, he will not cave in and one of the factor is strong pushback from Coulter and her supporters:

Trump said he was prepared to hold out "as long as it takes" to secure the money he is seeking for the border wall."This is national security we're talking about," he said at a cabinet meeting ahead of the meeting with Pelosi, Schumer and top Republicans. "It's too important a subject to walk away from.
"I think the people of this country think I am right," Trump said, adding that it "could be a long time" before the government reopens.

The Pentagon will foot the bill out of its discretionary funding for the deployment and fence construction along the California and Arizona borders with Mexico.

The request for more troops to shore up the US-Mexico border was made by the Department of Homeland Security - which will add to the deployment of some 2,300 active duty troops on the border as well as 2,100 National Guard troops. Those deployed will include aviation units and combat engineers.

The original active-duty deployment announced in November was slated to be completed at the end of January, with Guard troops scheduled to remain until September.
According to a senior military official, the new request could include thousands of additional troops, while the installation of new fencing could take months.

President Donald Trump’s administration issued a formal veto threat to Democrats in Congress, vowing to oppose their government funding bill without border security.

In a statement from the Office of Management and Budget, the administration wrote that they “cannot accept legislation that provides unnecessary funding for wasteful programs while ignoring the Nation’s urgent border security needs.”
Trump has demanded that any bill funding the government include $5.6 billion for border security.
The White House noted that the House Democrat spending bill also undermined the president’s Mexico City policy, an executive order that Trump imposed to bar taxpayer funds from subsidizing overseas abortions. The House bill also included funding for the West Bank/Gaza strip as well as Syria and Pakistan and certain United Nations funds, which the administration said were frozen or under review during the Trump administration.

He famously campaigned on the promise that he would not make American taxpayers pay for this wall. So wouldn't caving be if he *does* make us pay for it?

The only part that his voters care about is building the wall. The part about Mexico paying for it is superfluous. Figured you would have understood that.

Just tax the money wired down to south of the boarder to pay for it. Call it a "fee."

Did you not see the many clips of them zealously shouting, "Mexico!" in response to Trump's question of who was going to pay for it?

At any rate, he ran and got elected on the promise that he would not make American taxpayers fund a border wall. If he now makes us pay for it, he will be breaking that promise.

Even if that that could be called Mexico paying for the wall through some Trumpian sophistry, he seems to want to break his promise entirely and sign a bill that will make American taxpayers fund a wall with no such special funding provision.

Speaking of fools, I bet all the people who attended those rallies and shouted, "Mexico!" at the tops of their lungs must all feel pretty stupid now. Don't you think?

They got taken in by the famous chicanery of the great negotiator. I bet they thought he'd only use his tricks on other people.
