Yay! Now we have to figure out a way to stop Guiliani. Interestingly a hardcore neocon wrote a hit job against him so it makes me wonder...
"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack...that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." "Attack Libya UPDATE 8/13: and Syria"

"We can track down terrorists without trampling on our civil liberties.... the federal government will only issue warrants and execute searches because it needs to, not because it can." "Need to murder UPDATE 8/13: and track citizens" ~ Barack H. Obama

If true, credit goes to Rand for diplomatically but forthrightly speaking out against both Bolton and Giuliani, phrasing the argument in terms of those potential cabinet nominees as being out of step with Trump's stated campaign FP positions. Pretty much the only Republican Senator to do so publically

Rand being on the bubble of only 51 or 52 Republican Senators is going to have some real power. Trump is probably seething inside with that prospect.
Brawndo's got what plants crave. Its got electrolytes.

    H. L. Mencken said it best:

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Would have never had the impact had he not stood up for Bannon.

Oh come on. Rand can be quite the diplomat. He just needed to get over himself with the whole "he's a clown" thing. He was probably just upset at the time. I'm sure Rand can see opportunity to work with him unlike the neocons who are fvcking livid right now.

It does seem like Trump wants these guys to accept his policies on Russia and Syria based on how it's been going. We will see if it yields good results. Bannon was a great choice and Flynn would be a solid choice if he accepts. I still expect some real turkeys in his administration though.

Flynn is nothing special, but at least he is not a total warhawk.
I also expect there are going to be some real distasteful people, and some real acceptable people.

This being news less than 3 news cycle days after Rand came out firmly against Bolton.

Don't sell yourself short! Maybe The Donald actually does care a little bit about what people think, and a lot of us were Tweeting him and his transition team in response to Bolton.

Then again, maybe this is just a rumor and Bolton is still headed for the White House.

I'm starting to think that they are putting the worst of the worst out here first, so when they pick some $#@!ty establishment hack, they can say "at least it wasn't X"

Kind of like how sometimes when the writers of a TV show want to get away with something, they'll do something absolutely outrageous that the censors would never accept, fight for it, and then either change it to something not as crazy that the censors would have normally objected to (but at least it's not X!), or quietly sneak in something elsewhere.

Or maybe just maybe the report was never true in the first place....wouldn't be the first time the MSM makes up fake stuff.....in fact thats all they do.

And perhaps the #NoBolton Twitter hashtag helped a bit...

It's possible that none of the Gingrich, Rudy, Bolton, and Christie will be in his cabinet.... yet all the media reported was that they were the leading and favored to getthe high level posts. Hopefully we got 0 for 4 on those guys.

If they get invited to Trump Tower it's not just the media. So I guess the consideration of (or at least the favour of a personal explanation to the contrary) Ghouliani is legit. But hopefully Rudy hasn't given up his LifeLock daytime gig.

Did Rand just prevent World War III?

A big thank you to Rand and other freedom fighters who made serious commotion about this potential pick.

Shame on Trump for being interested in him in the first place.
