Bought a sweet shooting Argentine Mauser off a lady standing in line at NJ "buyback" many years ago.

Paid her $20 over what the cops were offering.

    Still have that gun.

The cops flipped out, and tried to talk her out it, but I had a valid NJ FOID at the time, and there was no legal reason she could not sell it to me.

She tried bidding us against each other, but the cops wouldn't budge on the $100 they offered.

    $120 sold.

That was over thirty years ago, summer of 1984 IIRC....I reckon if you tried it now you'd get SWATted.

    (God damn...34 years ago...$#@!, I'm old)
