Hello everybody! I first found Ron Paul right around the debates and was instantly a fan. I've been posting at the dailypaul since the primary debates, but as of late I've been coming to Liberty Forest increasing and realized it was time for me to join the conversation. I really enjoy the well organized categories here in the Forest. I've found the site to be especially effective for organizing the 2010 campaigns.
Just before Obama took office, I moved to China. I'm a recent college graduate who minored in east Asian studies (management major) and realized with the economy evaporating, that I should take some of Jim Rogers advice. While I'm away, I still want to help the movement as much as possible. I donate to money bombs and comment in as many online articles mentioning Rand or Schiff's campaigns as possible. But I think getting more involved in the discussions on these boards is also something I could and should be doing. I have two hopes: to be an asset to the occasional discussion and at the same time help to keep myself engaged and energized for liberty! |

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I'm a teenage girl from Wisconsin. I just turned 17. With the election of Barack Obama, I became extra interested in politics, and when my personal life started to collide with the U.S. government, I became even more interested. I was a fool to even think that Obama might be okay, but it turns out he's just another tax-and-spend socialist. I've done plenty of research, and I can see that not only does he betray his supporters, but he also betrays the very principles of our Founding Fathers. Ron Paul is the way to go. I happen to write a blog, so check it out: http://missmichellematthews.blogspot.com.
Other hobbies of mine are watching cartoons, playing video games, reading, shopping, and listening to techno, eighties, classic rock, grunge, and all that other awesome stuff that nobody listens to anymore. I've got a massive cartoon boxed set collection, and I absolutely am addicted to my Wii. I love to go all over town to look at clothes and DVDs and games and stuff. I happen to dislike the public school in my area, so I school online instead. It's awesome. The best part of my life is my girlfriend, who is sweet, kind, generous, understanding, compassionate, caring, and loving. She is my sunshine, and my life is so much better because of her. Currently, there is something awful going on in my life, so I don't get to talk to her as much. When I do - which is every few weeks - it's a blessing. When I can't, she is always right beside me in my heart. I will never let her go. Anyway, I hope I have fun here. It's nice to become a member of the Liberty Forest! Is Bandit a great name for a dog, or what?
Baby Boomers recall Johnny Quest fondly. Welcome.

Hello, everyone. I'm just joining this forum because I wasn't aware of its existence until more recently. I've been on some meetup forums for the 9/12 project and it was recommended that I join up here.
I've been a very conservative person for most of my life. I was first exposed to Austrian Economics (I'm a huge fan of Schumpeter, Lew Rockwell, Ludwig von Mises, Hayek, Milton Friedman, etc) in 1997 when I took my intro to Microeconomics course at the University of Texas at Dallas from Mark Frost (now a professor at SMU). Mark really opened my eyes to the eclectic world of the study of economics and I quickly switched my major! I am so glad I did. After obtaining my BS in Economics and Finance, I've spent most of my career in technology sales & marketing positions. I'm a father of 2 boys, married 11.5 years and I live in Southern California. As I began to see my liberties eroding further and further over the past 12 months, I started to re-examine U.S. history and what the founding of our nation was all about. I got back into practicing my marksmanship, teaching my family how to shoot (I was a U.S. Marine, shot Rifle Expert) and began reading more and more about libertarian positions. I began to feel that the minarchist origins of our nation resonated with my simple desire to be left alone. Left alone to pursue my own objectives and be free of the government as much as possible. I have for years wondered why we are involved in nation building that almost never results in anything that actually benefits us. I have for years wondered why the inflationary monetary policies of the Fed have never been seriously challenged by those who supposedly represent us. Once I made the connection that Ron Paul was affiliated with the Ludwig Von Mises Institute, I got very interested in what Dr. Paul is all about and I have since become quite a fan. I attended the 9/12 project Tea Party in my area on 9/12/2009 and have been working to actively support a constitutionalist Republican candidate (Chuck Devore) in California who is running to unseat Babs Boxer in the US Senate. I have been active on the Conservative Punk forums for years (and you can find many young libertarians & conservatives there) at http://forums.conservativepunk.com/ and since I use the same handle, it would be easy to read up on me. I'm very active on Twitter, so just follow the link in my signature if you'd like to learn more about me. My Twitter homepage has lots of pics and social networking contact info if you're interested. May the Peace of true liberty fall upon everyone in our nation and may the fruits of your labor be yours to keep! And may our nation be a Constitutional Republic once again.

I've lurked on here for quite some time, always enjoying the articles and discussions. I'm 23 and hold no real hope for the future of this country, but I do look forward to joining in and discussing the very interesting times in which we live.

Welcome. Don't lose hope. Fight for your right to be free. Eternal vigilance is the price we must pay.

I've never posted in this thread, which sort of amazes me.
Welcome to all the new members! Don't be discouraged by what appear to be very heated exhcanges between members around here. We are all very passionate about our various brands of liberty, we all have differences, but liberty is the unifying theme here. If you believe that you should be free to pursue your own dreams, you will fit in here. If you are willing to question whatever beliefs you might have held, to read and to learn, you will find that liberty is the only noble goal in the political realm. We are happy to have all of you here, and we hope that you will remain here to help us take our rights, our money, and our country back! ![]()
