To the best of my knowledge nobody gave an Indian a casino . The Indians had to secure financing for them and repay the loan like everyone else . They are built sometimes on property which is exempt from some ignorant state laws ( fireworks sales , gambling etc ) . They are also though often times under the US Dept of Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs Police which can have other rules too that are or can be even more restrictive than the state. I also do not know of any Indian that de Blasio has ever " given" anything too .

For the record though gambling is easy to understand . The house wins X amount of time to cover all operating costs and make a profit . It is like home ins , your home ins costs X amount that covers all claims and makes a profit .

Deblatto had initially considered the Crack industry, yet was persuaded to 'tone it down' .

it's been pitched to me many times as I recognize the thumbnail but
have never been a fan of 'revisionists' so I never bothered to watch it.
What's comical is that the first line in this wiki article lists it as a
'revisionist' film, which of course it is.
But yea, Deblatto, fits right in with the deep staters, or taters..........

Plus we would have to throw away all of our large sodas if they were taxed too much.

Is there actually a link to the confirmation on this or is this all just about a $#@!ter?

We should outlaw 1 gallon milk containers, and 18 count egg cartons while we're at it.

Deblatto has one 'giving' goal , that is to give votes, to himself.

Anybody got a link to what de Blasio actually said? I would like to see something more than a tweet (unless it is from de Blasio).

If I had 'this' job , it would be the 'better' one.

Here is what I have found when I looked:

Among the recommendations in the report issued by a task force that de Blasio convened in July are to expunge past convictions for marijuana-related offenses, set the minimum age at 21 and prohibit smoking pot in public.
The review also sought to ensure that black and Hispanic communities get a significant leg up in the marijuana industry rather than allow sales to be monopolized by giant corporations.
City Council member Ydanis Rodriguez hailed the moment as a significant break from the disparate enforcement of marijuana-related offenses over the years — which mostly targeted black and Hispanic smokers for arrests or summonses.
“Marijuana has been practically legal for the upper class,” Rodriguez said. “Unless you’re black and Latino and poor, you will never understand the importance of this day today.”

Instead, de Blasio said, the industry should be led by local small businesses, and efforts should be made to promote the involvement of black and Hispanic residents who have accounted for a disproportionate number of arrests for possession of marijuana despite similar consumption rates as white New Yorkers.
"We have a chance to create a brand-new industry that will lift up everyday New Yorkers, and we have a chance to choke off corporate America in the process and not let them get them get their greedy hands on this industry here in this state," de Blasio said.
New marijuana startups would compete with the 10 companies that have been licensed by the state to produce medical marijuana. These businesses received licenses to participate in the state's highly regulated industry, and they weathered a rocky start to the program in 2016, when doctors and patients were slow to flock to the industry.
The mayor's report, which was produced in collaboration with a city task force, said these companies should receive "no preferential treatment" when licenses for the recreational marijuana industry are issued.

This isn't De Blasio but it shows that the idea is out there:

America’s lucrative new weed industry should compensate the black victims of the country’s war on drugs

Thanks for the links. They don't say all pot shops should go to blacks. I figured it was a misleading exaggeration. I found ones saying that blacks and hispanics are more likely to be in jail for pot related offenses and that people arrested on those charges should be freed and those charges removed from their records. From your link:

That is referring to the 10 companies already licensed by the state to produce medical marijuana.

Seems to say nobody should get preferential treatment to me. But at any rate, nothing saying all the businesses should go to any group- black or otherwise. Headline seems to be wrong.

All the indian casinos I played in years ago, the house wasn't part othe gambing at all. the house took the ante every hand and another player had to be the banker/house. That was the law back then in CA, maybe things are different elsewhere.

I have never actually been into an Indian Casino . There are no Reservations here . Probably the casinos I have spent the most time in would be around Biloxi . Mostly inhabited by old , fat , white woman who were chain smokers spending the deceased husbands pension checks . I was there for the cheap beer , nice hotel , nice hot tubs . There are maybe three casinos in Southern In in various spots on the River that I know of, I may have been to them all once each or so .
