French authorities on Tuesday froze the assets of the internal security section of Iran's Intelligence Ministry as well as those of two Iranians, and all but pointed a finger at Tehran as the force behind an alleged plot to bomb an Iranian exile group's rally near Paris.Police also raided the headquarters of a Muslim religious association in northern France, seizing weapons and detaining three people. The building houses a Shiite federation, an anti-Zionist party and other groups. The assets of the groups and their leaders were frozen as well.
A joint statement by France's interior, economy and foreign ministers made clear the six-month freeze on the Intelligence Ministry's internal security section was linked to the alleged attempt to bomb the June 30 rally outside Paris of the People's Mujahedeen of Iran, or MEK.
"An attempted attack was thwarted," the statement said. "This act of an extreme gravity envisioned on our territory could not go without a response."
The ministers called the action "preventative, targeted and proportionate." The statement did not explain what funds might be in France.
In the second move, authorities froze the assets of Centre Zahra France, a Muslim association in the town of Grande-Synthe, outside Dunkirk, as well as those of three organizations and four men linked to the groups.
The three groups are under Zahra France's wing and include the Shiite Federation of France and the Anti-Zionist Party.
One of Zahra France's leaders, Yahia Gouasmi, is president of the Anti-Zionist Party, In 2010, he met with the leader of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah at its base in Lebanon.
The year before, he met in Tehran with then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who predicted Israel's demise.

prevent Iranian airlines “from acquiring spare parts” and equipment,
prevent access to “maintenance, repair services and safety-related inspections” which are necessary for civil aircraft, the statement says.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called the court’s ruling “another failure for [the] sanctions-addicted” US and a “victory for the rule of law.”

The Trump Administration’s ICJ Tantrum
The International Court of Justice ordered [1] the U.S. to lift some sanctions on Iran as a result of the case brought by Iran under the 1955 Treaty of Amity [2]:
The United Nations’ top court on Wednesday ordered the United States to lift sanctions on “humanitarian” goods to Iran that President Donald Trump re-imposed after pulling out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) unanimously ruled that Washington “shall remove by means of its choosing any impediments arising from the measures announced on May 8 to the free exportation to Iran of medicines and medical devices, food and agricultural commodities” as well as airplane parts, said judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf.The Trump administration’s response was unsurprisingly angry and excessive:

It is true that Iran has used the treaty for its own purposes and it has not always lived up to its obligations, but it is also true that the treaty has sometimes been useful to the U.S. in handling disputes with Iran. Tearing up the treaty does nothing to advance U.S. interests. The 1955 treaty is an odd relic of an earlier time when the U.S. and Iran had normal and even good relations. It is telling that the Trump administration is so intent on pursuing its destructive policy towards Iran that they are ending it. A treaty that has survived decades of bad relations between our governments is now being tossed in the garbage on a whim, and as a result it will become even more difficult for the U.S. and Iran to resolve disagreements than it already was. Iran has one more reason not to negotiate with the U.S. now, and once again the administration has shown that it will abrogate any agreement with Iran for the most trivial of reasons.

wrongdoing, sanctions and the destruction of the states, as it was in Libya.
In a nutshell, the relic 1955 treaty required that all disputes between the US and Iran
which could not be resolved diplomatically, be resolved at the International Court of Justice.
It is no secret that both sides violated/ignored the treaty in the past, but it had survived the tensions.

Pompeo speaking out of both ends of his @ss - "The court's ruling today was a defeat for Iran. It rightly rejected all of Iran's baseless requests".
So Washington's position on the ICJ ruling is that it won and Iran lost. Therefore Washington is terminating the treaty that allowed us to win in court and "defeat" Iran.

The preliminary injunction is obviously a victory for Iran. … The ruling is a big loss for the Trump administration. It shows the world that the U.S. is the one and only entity which is in breach of the 1955 treaty, the nuclear agreement with Iran (JCPOA) and the unanimous resolution of the UN Security Council endorsing the nuclear deal.
Pompeo's announcement of the canceling of the treaty is somewhat schizophrenic. … The U.S. is in fact mocking the court. It is unlikely that any court will accept the clearly upcoming U.S. claim that the treaty no longer exists, that the ICJ has lost jurisdiction over the case and that its orders can thus be ignored. One cannot simply change a contract after being found guilty of violating it. …
the U.S. … underestimates the effect of such a ruling on lower national courts. It will be them that will judge about the seizure of U.S. assets when claims of economic damage are brought up against the U.S. and its sanction regime.
The case will also weigh on the global opinion. It makes it more difficult for other governments to follow the U.S. sanction regime.
