    Thanks, Ender.

I've never fainted, and don't plan to start now. I'm happy, but not too surprised. I always knew you had it in you to act human towards me -- you've done it many, many times here over the years. We used to be downright Comrades in Arms! You just decided to take a pivot at some point to treating me like an enemy because I started occasionally saying edgy stuff. IIRC, it was that I was a little too critical of the Beyond-Reproach Irish who never-ever vote on ethnic lines for other Irish people, and our Sainted Homeless Gentlefolk who, like cows in India, must be allowed to block the streets at random to their heart's content, because Holiness.

Anyway, let that all be bygone, yes? Glad to hear from you again. In the coming years, such as Next Year, now upon us, just keep in mind that I post here in light-hearted fun. Whatever you read under my byline may very well be a joke. If it's funny, it definitely is, and if it's not, it's still probably me trying to be funny even knowing perfectly well that no one will get it.

Kind of a dark humor, I suppose it would be fair say. Kind of like Donald Trump's vision for America. "Dark." Very dark. So Dark. All the best Darkness.

Dudes, don't play that way. I've got nothing against either one of you. You know perfectly well I was just making fun of Wonka for this post:

And then you a little too, Cap'n, it's true, when you sort of joined in the fun, writing "Oh, you're off your meds. You should have led with that." Like, this is all ad-hominem garbage obviously, and worse it's retard-tier and not funny at all. But I'm good-natured, so I played along.

But now you're just going downhill. Honestly, if it were funny I'd keep playing along. I'm the best comedic punching bag you could ever wish for. But guys. Come on.

Right from the start, take that first Wonkapost, I don't know what he meant by the rally; presumably there was some Trump rally? And he was, like, accusing me of going to it, because only mentally-retarded autistic people would do that? "You're the kind of handicapped person that goes to Trump rallies!" Ha, ha; har, har; we're rollin' here, Wonka.

So, I don't know, keep accusing me of being a screecher I guess. Double down. Keep down that path. Let's see where it takes us.

    Back to content:

My suggestion - using the reaction to this case as an example - is that you cannot count on the right to stand up for liberty any more than the left. That both sides view liberty as transactional. Meaning, they want liberty for themselves, but are unconcerned about liberty for others. In other words, "liberty" is not popular - "protection" is.
Yeah, you've repeated this same thing about ten or twenty times I think, and that's in the past 64 hours, and so I ask myself, "Why is he doing that?" I answer, "He thinks that you/everyone are not understanding. He needs some validation."

    So here it is:

I agree with that! 100%. Maybe I could even crank it to 1,000% to match Ender. Yes, I could. Make it 1,000%. Agreement. Sweet, sweet agreement. I myself have made this same point umpteen times, I'm sure, right here on RPF, and could dig up the posts to quote my echoing of your thoughts if I cared enough. We could all have a wonderful chorus, a choral rendition of that old hit number "Ain't it a Shame, that the Normies Cain't See." Yes, the right answer is total freedom of association. Yes, the right is hypocritical for saying that it was a good thing to force white schools to accept black kids, but then it's somehow a bad thing to force confectionary artists to create works of art celebrating Anal Co-Masturbation. It really, really is. They are lousy hypocrites and are absolutely unconcerned with consistent adherence to principle. Is that pedantic enough? Am I screeching slowly enough for you?

You say they want liberty for themselves, but actually they don't even have the balls to want that. They just want to go back to 1990s normalcy, or 1980s normalcy, or 19-whenever-they-were-a-teenager normalcy, and they really wish the left would see them for the nice and reasonable people that they are and stop smearing them as Nazis.

That's what they want, if you want to know.

But that is one thing which most assuredly is not going to happen. Sorry, right.

    So here we are.

That’s a great point and very insightful.

Start going that far ahead, though, and there’s an even bigger looming problem. The massive bulldozer in the room that no one (except Tucker) wants to talk about in any serious, considered way:

    Automation.

The mis-education of millions is a crisis, but at least they can still work menially. What happens when there’s virtually nothing menial left to do? Hmm, brilliant leaders of society? Y’all are totally planning for that, right? You wouldn’t just leave 70 million under-skilled men out in the cold, would you?

Hmm, that’s a pretty well-thought-out plan, actually. Not bad at all. If one were wanting to do something to help save the country, this would be an excellent choice. Just be sure to choose you target and place of battle wisely, so the Optics will be with you.

What I’m saying is quite a bit different than that. *All* the various different angles I’ve offered about this have been unique and thought-provoking, and *none* of them have amounted to “principles are unrealistic and utopian; you should stop having them.”

I myself, when I’m advocating for things in real life, will generally advocate for the full-out, hard-core Libertarian solution. I ain’t afraid. I don’t have the patience to be subtle or sneaky. So I’m obviously not advising you to stop advocating liberty to everyone. The thing I was saying to the Cap’n which you mistake for this, is “No one on Planet Earth is going to look at video of Postal Vaper going postal and video of Jack Phillips explaining what he’s about and say “wow, those two men seem to be the same. They are doing essentially the same thing, once you strip away irrelevant ‘externalities,’ of course.””

Just, no one is. Right or wrong. That’s life! Think of my message as a Public Service Announcement.

Thanks for the clarification. I better understand where you're coming from now and can't disagree. I just lament the fact that things have degenerated so far wrt respect for private property. When I was growing up it wasn't uncommon for people, even kids to chastise each other for such simple things as walking across some one else's lawn rather than staying on the walk because it violated their prperty rights. Sadly, we're a ways away from that atm.

Yeah, but problem is historically it kills the wrong ones. Culls our the bravest, the noblest, the most K-selected, willing to go off and sacrifice themselves to save their fellow countrymen. And does it while they’re young, so it ends those bloodlines forever.

Now nuclear war, though, that could be a whole different bird. That could be awesome. Wipe several urban centers out? Millions of civilian casualties and no or virtually no military deaths? That wouldn’t be too bad for the future. Not bad at all. It would liven things up a lot, if nothing else! Nobody’d be endlessly droning about porn stars and taxi fraud and ostrich jackets.

Actaully, I take it back: they probably still would. But we lucky few have the alternative media, and at least they’d finally have something non-boring to cover.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I’m too young to have experienced that. Closest would be when in 2nd grade the teach teaching us about some New Math thing where you use graph paper had a little story about “Sally never cuts corners because she’s a good girl” to explain why you had to stay on the grid. I don’t think the kids got it or related at all Whoosh! — over their heads.

I agree about the nukes. It would solve some massive problems. All that artificial nonsense and entrenched corruption would literally be burnt to cinder.

Imagine how New York would look like without NYC.
Imagine how Virginia would look like without Mordor.
    Illinois without Chicago.

Yeah, it would be too bad about the architectural losses. But, hey, that's just brick and mortar. As long as humans with spirit and vitality survive, cathedrals can be rebuilt.

    Better than ever.
