He also highlighted Trump’s well-known obsession with vaccines, which the president believes are linked to autism--a venerable and thoroughly debunked theory.

“Both times [Trump] wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV. So, I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other,” said Gates.

Although both viruses are often spread sexually, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can lead to AIDS, while the less-serious human papillomavirus (HPV) sometimes causes genital warts and lesions that can become cancerous.

“In both of those two meetings, he asked me if vaccines weren’t a bad thing, because he was considering a commission to look into the ill effects of vaccines…Robert Kennedy Jr. was advising him that vaccines were causing bad things,” Gates said. “And I said no, that’s a dead end, that would be a bad thing, don’t do that.”

Of course I'd expect that anything Gates or Bezos says will annoy Trump, he kept pushing he was worth "10 BILLION DOLLARS" when it grossly overestimating his worth that he probably doesn't care for guys who are actually worth far more than that.

Back in 2013, the New York Times reported that the United States Postal Service (USPS) would start making Sunday deliveries for online retail giant Amazon. It initially served as an effort by USPS to stop the financial bleeding of the agency that was happening as Americans sent fewer and fewer letters. With a reported annual loss totaling about $16 billion, deals with profitable companies like the one Jeff Bezos leads looked like a step in the right direction as far as USPS’ efforts to eliminate losses.

But according to a report published by Josh Sandbulte in the Wall Street Journal, USPS has been picking up the tab for Amazon. The WSJ contributor, whose expertise is in the shipping industry, detailed how Congress prevents USPS, through the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act, from changing the parcel price. This law is designed to avoid “unfair competition” with FedEx and UPS. Section 3626 of Title 39 United States Code has become one of the provisions often quoted whenever limits imposed on USPS are being researched.

The report implies that Amazon gets the better end of the deal through the $1.46 subsidy. It is as if the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act served as a loophole for Amazon to exploit.

“The U.S. Postal Service delivers the company’s boxes well below its own costs,” Sandbulte mentioned. “Like an accelerant to the fire, this subsidy is speeding up the collapse of traditional retailers in the U.S. and providing an unfair advantage for Amazon.” He further labeled that $1.46 subsidy as “a gift card from Uncle Sam.”

USPS has been shifting to package delivery as first-class mail delivery has decreased by 40% from its peak.

With USPS picking up part of the tab for Amazon, it means that the retailing behemoth can drop its prices. FedEx and UPS receive no such deal from shipping, having to bear their share of the system costs to deliver packages.

Despite shipping with both UPS and FedEx as well, the bulk of Amazon’s deliveries are still sent through USPS. Amazon though is not the only client USPS has, but with 40% of the business coming from Amazon, Sandbulte claims the Postal Service is “picking winners and losers in the retail world.”

According to an unsubstantiated article by the Washington Post, anonymous CIA officials have confirmed that the Russian government hacked the United States election to favor Donald Trump. Though it’s entirely possible the Russian government attempted to influence the election, the Post has been widely criticized — for the second time in a month — for its failure to follow basic journalistic practices. Nevertheless, the narrative is sticking.

But the outlet’s behind-the-scenes relationship with the CIA is nothing new. In 2013, a conflict of interest arose shortly after Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon, purchased the newspaper. As the Nation reported at the time:

“[Jeff Bezos] recently secured a $600 million contract from the CIA. That’s at least twice what Bezos paid for the Post this year. Bezos recently disclosed that the company’s Web-services business is building a ‘private cloud’ for the CIA to use for its data needs.”

As this occurred, a petition calling on the Washington Post to disclose its new ties to the CIA when reporting on the agency garnered 30,000 signatures. According to the RootsforAction petition:

“The Post often does reporting on CIA activities. The coverage should include full disclosure that the owner of the Washington Post is also the main owner of Amazon — and Amazon is now gaining huge profits directly from the CIA.”

Robert McChesney of the Institute for Public Accuracy pointed out the glaring conflict of interest:

“If some official enemy of the United States had a comparable situation—say the owner of the dominant newspaper in Caracas was getting $600 million in secretive contracts from the Maduro government—the Post itself would lead the howling chorus impaling that newspaper and that government for making a mockery of a free press. It is time for the Post to take a dose of its own medicine.”

Experts have said time and time again that the Postal Service benefits from Amazon’s business. Former Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe “unequivocally stated” to UBS analysts that Amazon is profitable for the service, according to a note published last week.

As for the Post/Amazon tie, sure the same guy is the CEO and primary owner of both. But can't he do business separately with them? From a tech point of view it only makes sense for the CIA to choose Amazon for private clouds - Amazon spent more in R&D last year than any other company in the world and their cloud services are top rated.

‘Epic takedown’: Bill Gates draws laughs at Trump’s expense

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recounted stories from past meetings with President Donald Trump, according to footage aired on MSNBC.

While taking questions at a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation event, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had the crowd in stitches as he talked about President Donald Trump and recounted stories from past meetings the two have had, according to footage aired Thursday by MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes.”
In a video of the session, Gates revealed that at two separate meetings Trump needed help distinguishing HIV, short for human immunodeficiency virus, and HPV. The latter is a sexually transmitted infection also known as human papillomavirus that is responsible for causing genital warts or cervical cancer.
“Both times he wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV, so I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other,” Gates said as the audience erupted in laughter.
According to the show’s host, Chris Hayes, Gates had been speaking to Gates Foundation staff at a meeting earlier this week. The foundation could not be reached for comment.

During the meetings, Trump also asked “if vaccines weren’t a bad thing because he was considering a commission to look into ill effects of vaccines,” Gates said.
The philanthropist, whose foundation has long supported and funded vaccine research, was quick to respond.
“I said, ‘No, that’s a dead end. That would be a bad thing, don’t do that,'” Gates recalled.
In the 3-minute-long video, Gates also discussed a time when Trump met his daughter, Jennifer Gates, at a “horse show thing” in Florida. Jennifer is an “accomplished equestrian,” according to Business Insider.
About 20 minutes after talking to Jennifer at the event, Gates said Trump reappeared in style, flying in on a helicopter to the same place he had just been.
“So clearly he had been driven away, but he wanted to make a grand entrance in a helicopter,” Gates said, mimicking the flight path of Trump’s helicopter with his hand, eliciting another round of laughs.

Gates added that his daughter came up in conversation when the pair first talked.
“It was actually kind of scary how much he knew about my daughter’s appearance,” Gates said, looking slightly uncomfortable. “Melinda didn’t like that.”
