Actually, I think you should be the first

one in America to go to Havana and ask for asylum, make a raft out of an old jeep and get going, make history. First American to do it, Fidel will make you happy.

The middle name of the New World Order is "WORLD"

I'm just glad Patrick Henry didn't decide to run away from the fight for freedom.

Face it. This is the front lines. This is the last hope. Right here. Right now.

There is nowhere you can go to escape global domination by the elites.

This is the only place where you still have a chance to thwart the bastards.

I would say this however. We could try to populate a state and take it over like the free state project did. The only problem with us moving up there is my wife is from South Carolina and hates cold weather or we would have done it.

There is another place. Asheville North Carolina. The weather there is more agreeable and there is relatively cheap land still available and many places to hold out if or when the government take over begins.

Consider this folks. If there were militias or simply groups of citizens who wanted to stay out of FEMA camps and stand and fight for freedom, (which is a militia anyway) there is no way you can do it alone. Not when 50 national guardsmen come to your home armed to the teeth like they did in Lousiana afterr Katrina.

If there is some natural disaster which is used as the pretext for such a take over, figure on all conventional means of communications to be cut off. We won't have the internet or phones or even short wave radios to rely on and even if we did they would be monitored and "they" would find us.

The only hope for a last stand is to group together before hand and have an alternative method of communications ready.
I suggest finding an unregistered gun because after Katrina they used the registry of gun owners to round up those people first.

Don't worry. You right to keep and bear arms is a right not a privilage that you need permission for anyway. Its against the law what I'm suggesting but so is their law against the Constitution.

I know that some would consider what I'm typing to be somewhat subversive and I also know that my government would consider me a terrorist. But I ain't no terrorist, nor am I subversive to my Constitution and I consider myself a law abiding guy. I'm also not out to hurt anyone or kill anyone but either were the founding fathers. They just wanted to be free and live their lives the way they chose to live them not not hurt anyone else or infringe on their freedoms, just like me and you.

So consider what I'm saying. Try to find like minded people to hook up with and work with them to store up food and water and energy and some means of protection and find a place to hide out from the government where you can engage in well, sort of secret efforts to preserve liberty.

During WWII what some people did was use a single shot gun. A woman would approach an SS trooper and ask for a light for her cigarette. She would shoot him, take his multiple shot gun which she could use to get a few others and take their guns. This is how the resistence started in France.

I'm sure many of them said "where can I go to be safe and live free". I'll bet even duringt the Rev War some Americans said that since we know that only about a third of Americans fought and won the Revolutionary War. The othr 2/3 were either apathetic or were actually loyal to their own government.

And always remember that this country started by the patriots who fought against their own government and it was at that time totally illegal. But thank God they did.

Sure I sound like a nut bag to some, in fact probably most left in this country. I don't care because I know that I'm a good guy who like the founders just wants to be left alone to raise my family, live by my own means and be free.

What we see our governent doing is taking away our freedoms and becoming a liavathan and threatening each and every one of us.

Have you all seen or heard about the guy who's son bumped his head and the SWAT team bashed in his door just so they could say that the kid should have ice applied to his bump and asprines administered to reduce the pain?

If that father had neighbors who were armed and ready maybe that could have been prevented or it might have esclated. Who knows? But the neighbors might have said "this is a good guy and we're not going to let you bash in his door" and stood in the way of the SWAT team. So don't let the incrimentalism of this progression fool you into complacency. Tyranny is cloaked in laws and enabled by apathay.

I'd say stay and all move to one several state area. The Lakota's just made headlines a couple weeks ago saying they were seceding from the US. Maybe near them?

I was actually considering moving out of the country before Ron Paul came along, but that has been temporarily suspended at this moment.

I don't know if we can save the mindless zombies of this country anymore. I am really thinking about leaving. Does anyone have any suggestions to what country would be best to move to? And does anyone have any information and how easy it is to move there? (After doing research I have found out that its almost impossible to permanently immigrate to many countries legally). All information would be a great help.
Any of the scandonavian countries, chile, costa rica, or New Zealand. I know a lot of people also like to try

Whatever you do don't come to Britain. It has become an oppressive place to live in thanks to a reckless, authoritarian, meddling Labour Government with all the instincts of tyrants.

We have been bombarded with thousands of new bans and fines (1 new crime created for every day of Blair's 10 year rule), petty regulations, a health and safety mafia and suffocating political correctness. We are the only country in the European Union to have 'endemic, uncontrolled surveillance' matched only by places like China. We have 20% of the world's CCTV cameras! Basic civil liberties, legal rights, checks and balances are being progressively destroyed. ID cards linked to a big fat database coming this year. Privacy is becoming a quaint outdated concept.

I myself am looking for somewhere to escape to. I can't bear watching my country getting butchered anymore - it is frightening and heartbreaking.

Interesting. I haven't seen anything else about this...what is going on with it? So do they consider themselves a sovereign people or nation within the US?

Sovereign Nation geographically surrounded by the US , go to the link they explain it there. You can move there if you renounce your U.S. citizenship.

Thanks so much. VERY interesting and thought provoking. I won't renounce anything til I cast my vote for the doctor then we'll see.

I had a lot of hope for the Free State Project, but in light of Ron Paul getting just 8% in New Hampshire (maybe 10% if they cheated) (with a much higher Dem turnout), I cannot in good conscience continue to recommend it...

All the aforementioned advice on Latin America and island nations is probably only applicable to people who've already made their fortune and are for the most part retired. Even a work-from-home hikikomori like myself cannot take that leap with confidence. People like me need to be close to high-tech / economic hot-spots that are fertile ground for clients and career opportunities. It's kind of hard (and expensive) to make yourself available to clients in London or Paris when your home is in Iceland or Estonia!

The best solution in the long term is to stop thinking of yourself as an American "right or wrong" and think of yourself as a person capable of voting with his feet for the place in the world that offers the most freedom and economic opportunity. Focus on your career first, and detach it from America as much as possible. Study foreign language(s) that offer the highest business opportunity.

Don't let the size and quantity of Latin American nations fool you - the total GDP is pretty low, especially in the service sector. There's a lot of socialist / communist sentiment. The intersection between English and Spanish speakers is very high, thus reducing the career value of being multilingual in those languages. (Remember, it's all about supply and demand!) And don't forget that selection doesn't directly translate to accessibility - you can't be in Mexico City, Madrid, and Buenos Aires, etc, all at the same time!

Europe has its own unemployment problems, most young people there speak English, and it will be hard to distinguish yourself from a flood of job-seekers that will flood in if/when the American economy starts rapidly declining. In a recent survey, only 30-something percent of Frenchmen said "free market capitalism is the best system", one of the lowest benchmarks in the world, with even the Commie China being in the %80s! After English, the #2 language of continental Europe is actually Russian, and in the EU it'll be followed by Turkish if they make the mistake of letting them join. And if they don't reform their immigration policies, in a couple of generations Arabic and Urdu will take over!

And don't let the Asian giants fool you - China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Russia, etc will not dominate the 21st century until they implement A LOT of reforms, and it might take the rest of the century to get those rights. In China, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong speak three different dialects, and the latter uses slightly different characters. The disunity of the Arabic language and languages of India is even greater. And when was the last time you came across a Web-site in one of the Indian languages? That's because everyone who's educated enough to use the Internet would rather use English!

And so we come to... Japan! (The other "East-Asian Tigers" are interesting too, but they are much smaller and half a century behind on some things.) Japan is the world's #2 industrialized country, and the only one where government spending as percentage of GDP is lower than America's (and that's in spite of better health-care and more urban infrastructure). They've recently privatized their Post Office and Social Security. Japan ranks very well in life expectancy, employment, education, low crime, high-speed wired / wi-fi Internet, press freedom, etc, etc, etc. (In most benchmarks, it's either the #1 of the G-8 nations or just below US/UK - as it is in Economic Freedom and GDP/capita, but it's gaining.) Tokyo is the world's #1 concentration of not only people but also of wealth and high-tech industries, with far more Global 500 companies than any other city (almost twice as much as Paris in #2).

People who speak and write good Japanese as well as English are always in very high demand, especially if you have a good business / science / tech education otherwise. The language is hard, but given its cultural exports most young people find it more interesting to learn than European languages (especially when everyone you meet in Europe will want to speak English anyway). The Japanese language is also a stepping-stone for later being able to read Chinese-character Web-sites or wrap your mind about Korean grammar.

Japan has many quirks - gun control, environmental regulation, distrust of foreigners, high cost of living, archaic writing system, left-hand drive, etc. But many of those are not as bad as they at first seem. For example, being a small, high-tech, and very densely populated country means it can actually profit from international environmental bull$#@! at the cost of larger countries like the US. Distrust of foreigners means they'd rather build robots than import cheap labor like the US is doing, but they do recognize the need for importing English teachers and other professionals.

What a bunch of cowards some of you guys are. You think anywhere is going to be much better? Most countries around the world are socialist. And there is no sign of them changing that mentality. At least in America there is a large group of people who know socialism is bad. They just don't know what socialism is or for that matter what facism is. All this country needs to be free is education. They know what's bad. They don't know how to define it.

I'm reminded of some song lyrics from one of my favorite songs by Catch 22 called 12341234

Look around little brother can you tell me what you see?
You're a big boy now so take responsibility.
    You've never had it hard
    and now it's getting tough
So you whine whine whine and you say you've had enough
You say I'm full of $#@!
    That I'm a hypocrite.
I cannot take the advice that I give
    Well maybe you're right
    but open your eyes
The main difference is that I try try try.
Did anyone say this was going to be easy? Of course not! You think the most powerful organizations in this country and in the world are going to just roll over to our might? Are you kidding?! They are laughing at us right now! You know why? Because they know as soon as things get a little tough all you pussy ass whiners are going to ditch the movement and move someplace else where you simply aren't aware of the corruption. Where you can go back to closing your eyes and pretending nothing is wrong.

Give me a break. If you want anything good in life you have to work for it. Where are you going to run when the depression hits? You think America will be the only country effected? We are tied into the global economy. We go down so does the world. There is no place to hide. So stop being a pansy who runs away from problems and start being a true patriot and an American Hero like our founding fathers were. We can accomplish this. But not if you guys ditch us. Think about people other than yourselves for a change. This movement is bigger than me and it's certainly bigger than you. It's for all of us. It's for freedom and it's to convince the rest of the world that free markets and free societies work better than socialism and nanny states. We need to show the world that America is STILL the land of the free and STILL the home of the brave.

Or you can prove them all right by running away with your cowardly tail between your legs. Because if that's the way you're going to be then you're useless to us anyway. Go back to being a sheeple and put your head back in the sand.

Thanks to the shabby US government and the greedy international bankers for alienating american citizens like they have done.. These government officials and bankers should be put to trial and hung for their atrocities.

It's NOT TRUE that Americans are hated throughout the world.
I've traveled all over and people LOVE Americans in most places, but HATE our government.

I still don't get what fuels so much of the American Exceptionalist mentality on these forums. There isn't one facet of American life, philosophy, culture, or national identity that couldn't be equally recreated and enjoyed in another part of the world. Well, if you move to Iceland, you might not get much chance to break out the old volleyball net, but that's about it.

I've said this before, but "America" as we know it, is a state of mind, not a specific landmass. We could all chip in, buy an island, draft a Constitution identical to our own, and live life just as richly (if not moreso) than we do today in this crumbling, pale shadow of the formerly great United States of America.

When is the last time you traveled? My cousin works for the peace corps. (he has been working for them for 15years now) and just told me last night that Americans are now generally hated throughout the world. The peace corps. has to take precautions for Americans now. EXAMPLE: they had to bulletproof their building in the Dominican Republice recently. In past years you could go to countries, tell them you were an American, and they would buy you a beer. Now, there is a general concensus of hate towards Americans throughout the world.

Two years ago when I realized what was happening, this is what I half kiddingly told my friends. That we will fight as long and as hard as we can, but in the end if it does not work, that the patriots all chip in and buy a huge island and start our own New World. It is just a thought, I am glad to see others are considering steps like this. Oh, by the way, my anscestor is William Bradford, so I get to be the Governer!!(kidding of course.)

I have been studying retirement in another country for several years. Best choices that I have found are: Panama, Brazil, and Chile. All very receptive to immigration. All very cheap and stable. I am leaning towards Panama right now. I love the live and let live attitude, lots of underpopulated beautiful land, and no involvement in world affairs.

Well you are all invited in Holland...but then you have to live in an surveillance state and pay about 50% of you income in taxes.
Damn I hate my country sometimes... That is btw why I'm so scared of what's happening in your country and why I am so involved with this campaign. I see America as the truly last bastion of liberty as Ronald Reagan said in A time for choosing. And if $#@! like this can happen in the last bastion of liberty and the former most free country in the world, what hope is there for the rest of us, and where can we turn to then for liberty?
Please, not only for your own country, but for me and the rest of the world as well, don't give up! Give everything you have! And win dammit!
