Yep.
They don't require credibility - only plausibility. If the crap they pull seems plausible to at least a portion of the population, that's all it takes. The media will label anyone who questions that plausible narrative a heretic. Elections, Covid, Climate, Education, Health Care... doesn't matter.

The media is playing it up when it doesn't really exist.
They are manipulating headlines and interpretations and putting words in DeSantis' mouth when he meant something else.

No, it isn't.
(You merely need enough people in enough of the right positions.)
No, you don't.
(You merely need enough people in enough of the right positions.)
Losing credibility? Sure ... that's why we don't have a senile & nigh-incoherent child-sniffer in the Oval Office ... or a new stroke-aphasic & nigh-incoherent Senator from PA ... or a state election system (such as in AZ, just to pick one at random) that would embarrass a third-world country and which was ultimately overseen by the same person who was just elected as that state's Governor ... etc., etc. ... oh, wait ...
Credibility does not matter. Power does. (The farce in Arizona amply demonstrates this. [1]) And to all evidence, the Democrats generally appear to be better than Republicans at getting power and using it to their advantage. (Hell, even when they have power, Republicans don't seem to have any idea what to actually do with it, apart from preserving whatever the Democrats have already done.)
[1] And if cheating occurred, then that just demonstrates it even more strongly. As I said before:

DeSantis has done a great job performing as Florida’s governor, and Trump continues to disappoint me by (amongst other things) endorsing people who will stab us in the back (most recently McCarthy for speaker) - HOWEVER, DeSantis is clearly a neocon who formerly has, and would again, embrace Bush foreign policies if he were in the White House. He'd throw that fiscal conservatism right out the window when it comes to "spreading democracy" overseas!
If he’s presidential material, why do y’all think he’s never, ever even slightly broached the subject? Has he no observations to share about the billions sent to Ukraine? or the killing off of Ukraine’s best men in a war they can’t win? And no one thinks to asks him for his thoughts, or seemingly, even privately wonders about it?!
Remember: During GW Bush’s first campaign, he professed to support a foreign policy that made him sound like Ron Paul! That video has been posted numerous times on this forum, but I guess not lately. We already know that candidates hide their big-spending, war-mongering tendencies prior to the election.
I wish he were my governor, but I would never support this neocon trojan horse for president.

I wonder who will win the fight to get Stikki-Nikki Haley on their ticket?
Trump might be loosing because he said something critical about our Ukrainian project....
That is, until he says that he supports Zelenskyyyyy/Israel more bigly than anyone else.
This is what is going to make me actively work against this guy.
The ego of this man is bigger than his casinos.
STFU and admit, "I was wrong, very wrong", humble yourself before the graves of dead that these $#@!ing poison shots have and are killing and beg Jesus for forgiveness.

Of course you don't. Trump is the mud-slingingest, thou shalt speak ill of every other Republicanest, biggest bully to win the Republican nomination in the history of the party. But if anyone ever hits back with the slightest criticism of Trump, no matter how achingly obvious in its accuracy, you automatically disqualify that person and add the name to your enemies list.
You will never, ever see an alternative. Ever. So?
If Trump gets in, there could be some wild cards up his sleeve. Regarding foreign policy.
Consider...
1) Final term. Can be truer to himself.
2) Russians know and respect him more than DeSantis.
3) Trump won't care what the globalists try to do as much, not running again.
4) Trump harbors some bitterness against Bibi Netanyahu.
5) Trump was coaxed into assassinating Solemani at Israel's behest, but didn't get anything from it.
If we consider how Bolton, Haley, other neocons and of course neolibs oppose Trump, but the neocons
aren't lining up against DeSantis... have to expect them to have more power over DeSantis.

In NH, Trump leads by double digits as well.

Not my wheelhouse, but all this is interesting. I think alliances will change a lot until then. Though a lot of political 'truisms' won't be true to the extent election rigging is mitigated and to the extent people stop watching TV, I still think it is a long game and there is such a thing as early burnout, for instance.
Here, it looks to me like all camps are playing games, jockeying for position. We are the voters to be 'persuaded' you see.
It’s going to be hilarious watching DeSantis supporters cry foul play when Biden beats him only for DeSantis to tell his supporters to shut up and accept the results of the election. Anyone with half a brain knows there won’t be any election rigging talk coming from DeSantis.
LOL
DeSantis is the darling of the Bush crowd and nobody else has a chance.
Anyone with no chance to win (and Rand proved he is one so don't bother to bring him up) who attacks Trump is helping our enemies against our current best option.
Show me one person with a better agenda than Trump who builds the following required to beat Trump and if I agree they are better I will tear Trump to shreds, I'd give my back teeth for a young Buchanan with a movement behind him.
You know how DeSantis got within striking rage of Trump? he supported Trump and Trump's agenda as the best option around instead of attacking him for his imperfections until he was ready to strike.
