When was America ever America to begin with? (Except mythologically ...)Let's Make America America Again
================
Open Borders: A Libertarian Reappraisal or why only dumbasses and cultural marxists are for it.
Cultural Marxism: The Corruption of America
The Property Basis of Rights
My references to "America" and "mythology" were made in relation to the context that was specified in the OP (namely, "If our Founding Fathers were here today and scripting a return to America [...]."
Explicitly or implicitly, such sentimental invocations are pregnant with myth, such as that of the "Land of the Free" and of "all men [having been] created equal" - and never mind things like the endemic ownership of other human beings as chattels, or the fact that such ownership did not end until hundreds of thousands of the denizens of that "America" had slaughtered one another for the sake of denying or subverting the very principles that the documents written by those aforementioned "Founding Fathers" had supposedly embodied. (And those are just a few of the most egregious illustrations of the fact that America has never really been "America," except mythologically ...)
Which "America" shall we return to? The America of income confiscation and central-bank-fueled imperialism - the chief products of which would be a vastly bloated welfare entitlement system and a ravenous military-industrial complex? (Actually, there's no need to "return" to that America - we've all been living in it for over a century now.) Or the postbellum America in which state and local autonomy had been effectively abolished after having been militarily crushed in what was, essentially, a ruthless and bloody counter-revolution? Or the antebellum America in which people were involuntarily "owned" by other people, to be disposed with as and how their "owners" pleased? Or the post-revolutionary America in which a voluntary political confederation was willfully and foolishly cast aside in favor of political centralization and greater concentration of power in the hands of fewer people (an act which, in one way or another, has contributed to or caused nearly every significant woe "America" has suffered since, up to and including the present day)?
No. We do not need to "return to America." In order to do that, we'd have to have been there once before ...

No, their is, they are just cheap and do not have a reason to buy machines when they have an endless supply of "cheap" labor.

At 1000 an a hour that machine beats any illegal.
What's the problem there then, the mexicans or the government?
If the government was not bearing some of the costs, then the farmers would have to pay that difference themselves. If at that point it were still cost effective to use mexican labor, they would continue, if not, they would use machines.
Life certainly was great when we were young and had no responsibilities. We didn't see how hard our parents had to struggle to get money to put food on the table and clothes on our backs- trying to get one more year out of that old used car before they finally had to buy another used car. Then we grow up and realize that life is always a struggle- that things aren't always easy or fair. Ah- the good old days.
America was great then- wasn't it?
If the government did its job and kept out the illegals to begin with we would not have the issue to begin with.
No pawning off the cost onto others will privatizing profit is lemonade socialism.
It was better before we allowed in 60 million largely 3rd world people.
It was better before we gave up colonizing space in order to 'wage a war on poverty" and build a "great society".
It was better before we stopped using logic, reason, facts, data and the protection of Freedom and self Interests to make public policy rather then "muh feels"
It was better before we limited our right to keep and bare arms in the name of "fighting crime".
It was better before we had fiat currency that does nothing but reward banking cartels
It was better before we send away entire industries while importing untold numbers of workers, lowering the wages of the American people.
Aside from having an Iphone and a medical tech things were better in the past and if we want them to get better we have stop doing what we are doing now.

I do know from contact with some people on a hobby-farm that EU regulations add unpayable expenses to their raising livestock for friends and family. So maybe you can't live that way anymore?
But i dunno - I lived in a wood-heated house january - what a PITA. And gardening for your survival? Haven't done that - raised some broccoli that got infested with caterpilars. MMmm steamed caterpillar. Having a few tomatos is nice i guess.
I hang-out mostly with people from then, and cool people from now, and liberty-minded folks online.

It looks like the DNC controlled media is trying to create a Constitutional crisis.

I define America as a white place because the definition of a country is literally a "race of people" or a "tribe." Does anyone believe America will be the same if the elitist commies replace the white race with non-whites?
