Senate Taking Procedural Vote On TrumpCare Right Now

Vote on a motion to proceed to debate.

Two GOP Senators have already said they'll vote no, so it's a margin of one with Pence casting the tiebreaker.

Rand's voting to proceed to debate, as is Lee, though of course they're both voting against the final bill.

...a good move I'd say, shows good faith, open to debate, etc.

The two Senators voting against the motion are doing so, I presume, because they'd rather not be on record for a final vote on the bill.

Darth McCain returned to cast an Aye vote.

Ron Johnson is the only other GOPer yet to vote, apparently there's some doubt as to which way he'll go.

I hope this passes. I want the weasels on record on a final vote for the bill.

    So, it just passed.

Now apparently they have 20 hours to debate/offer amendments, then I guess we get the final vote.

McCain trying to play the grand old man on the floor, calling for "moderation" and "bipartisanship."

i.e. the extremely leftist bill is still not leftist enough for him

Turns out John Cornyn is indeed our very own @TheTexan

“We’re going to be doing a lot of voting so I hope you eat your Cheerios,” said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Up next is an amendment barring federal funding of abortion (which apparently can't pass through reconciliation, and is therefore just for show).

The clean repeal vote will be after that. It will almost certainly fail, but I'm very curious to see who votes against it (i.e. who to primary).

So... this 'Repeal' failed? That's it? Anybody got a link to the vote tallies?
    What can we expect now?

Rand's clean repeal amendment just failed 45 to 55.

    7 GOPers voted against it:

Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia
    Susan Collins of Maine
    Dean Heller of Nevada
    John McCain of Arizona
    Rob Portman of Ohio
    Lamar Alexander of Tennessee
    Lisa Murkowski of Alaska

Every one of them voted for clean repeal in 2015, when they knew it had no chance of passing.

You can expect to get it raw and dirty, as usual.
