This highly anticipated summit on the heels of prisoners release could be truly historic even if it is true that high level meetings/prisoners releases have taken place before and recent demand by NK leader could turn out to be problematic:

Update:
CIA report says North Korea won't denuclearize, but might open a burger joint
WASHINGTON — A new U.S. intelligence assessment has concluded that North Korea does not intend to give up its nuclear weapons any time soon, three U.S. officials told NBC News — a finding that conflicts with recent statements by President Donald Trump that Pyongyang intends to do so in the future.
Trump is continuing to pursue a nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un even though the CIA analysis, which is consistent with other expert opinion, casts doubt on the viability of Trump's stated goal for the negotiations, the elimination of North Korea's nuclear weapons stockpile.
Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Fake News NBC just stated that we have given up so much in our negotiations with North Korea, and they have given up nothing. Wow, we haven’t given up anything & they have agreed to denuclearization (so great for World), site closure, & no more testing!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 22, 2018
It suggests Kim is interested in a peaceful gesture to an American president whose love of fast-food burgers is well known — and who, during the 2016 campaign, had said he wanted to talk nukes over a burger with the North Korean leader.

Nothing significant will be any different on June 13th. North Korea will not give up their nuclear program- not when it gets them the respect they have been looking for. US won't withdraw all the troops (if any) from South Korea. North and South may start to allow some people to cross the border.
If it was not for the North Korea nuke mountain collapse I could go either way between Zippy and what was posted above. But considering they might be in a desperate situation in needing of help and to head off tensions prior to everyone having a fit when radiation readings climb as a result, I am thinking a major change towards peace.

Kim gets sick and the summit is postponed.
Only prediction I'll make is that the US troops in SK will remain stationed there.

Speaking on Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan on May 13, Pompeo said the United States would not be willing to invest taxpayer dollars to help the communist state, but was willing to “lift sanctions” as a prelude for private American investment in North Korea’s energy, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors.
Pompeo told Brennan: “What Chairman Kim will get from America is our finest, our entrepreneurs, our risk takers, our capital providers, not [aid from] our taxpayers.”
Brennan then asked, “That sounds like sanctions relief to make it possible for a company to invest directly in North Korea. When would you do that?”
Pompeo replied: “Ma’am, if we get denuclearization, of course there will be sanctions relief, certainly. There will be more than that.”
The success of the Trump-Kim meeting may well depend on whether Kim now regards economic prosperity as more important than adhering to steadfast communist philosophy.

https://www.history.com/topics/korean-warOn June 25, 1950, the Korean War began when some 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south. This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War. By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf. As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself.

Article from 2005: https://www.theguardian.com/world/20.../20/northkorea
North Korea vows to abandon nuclear weapons project
Cautious welcome by Bush for road map deal
Aid and US promise not to invade seals agreement
North Korea has agreed in principle to end its nuclear weapons programme and rejoin the international non-proliferation treaty, marking the biggest breakthrough in its three-year stand-off with the US.
Under a draft accord issued by North Korea and five other countries in Beijing yesterday, the reclusive state promised to give up its main bargaining chip in return for energy, economic aid and a US promise not to attack.
President George Bush yesterday gave the agreement a cautious welcome. "Five nations have spoken and said it's not in the world's interest that North Korea have a nuclear weapon, and now there's a way forward," he said after a national security council meeting at the White House.
"It's a step forward in making the world a more secure place. The question is - over time will all parties adhere to the agreement?"
Among the details yet to be hammered out are monitoring and aid payments, as well as the vexed question of whether North Korea can build a lightwater reactor to ease its chronic power shortages.
Although vaguely worded, the joint statement issued by negotiators from the US, North Korea and four other regional players - China, South Korea, Japan and Russia - is seen as a road map towards the denuclearisation of the peninsula.
North Korea said it was "committed to abandoning all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programmes and returning at an early date" to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and the safeguard system established by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In return, Washington pledged to respect North Korea's sovereignty and take steps to normalise relations. "The United States affirmed that it has no nuclear weapons on the Korean peninsula and has no intention to attack or invade with nuclear or conventional weapons," the statement read

I know you are but what am I?
Read my post. The agreement included China, South Korea, Japan, and Russia besides the US. China was definitely on board.
So who are "deep state"? Bankers like Goldman Sachs? Military generals? CEO's? State governors and other politicians? CIA? Trump's cabinet is full of those people.

Then why didn't it happen, zippy?
My point is there was NO mutual agreement between all countries that could have been made before Trump (otherwise it would have). The deep state was preventing that from happening, they wanted too much control.
Trump came in and said, hey China, you $#@!ing take care of this mess, we want out. China was like, "Uhhh, ok, are you sure??" and Trump was like, "$#@! ya, you have at 'em". And that was the mutually agreeable solution. Before that, the deep state would not allow that to occur, and no agreeable solution would have ever been made.

There was an agreement. Korea didn't abide it. And that wasn't the only agreement they made. They also agreed to end their nuke program in agreements signed with Clinton. It was violated too. But Trump wants a deal- any deal- so he can claim credit and take a victory lap.

Singapore was always a bad venue choice, imho.
btw, Kim Jung-un's father had an earlier Korean War "summit" as I understand . . .
the Dad and former dictator took an armored train to Vladivostok.
Source : (blogger) : hxxps://leonidpetrov.wordpress.com/russia-korea/Russia’s plans to extend the Trans-Siberian railway through North Korea to South Korea is facing a major geopolitical hurdle.
This project is a non-starter as long as the Korean War remains unfinished. Moscow’s plans of linking the two parts of the divided peninsula with railway, natural gas, and electricity lines is nothing but a pipe dream.

Unbelievable that eight of the 20 original atomic cannons still exist.
Some were sent to Korea - but only 'Atomic Annie' during the May 1953 Nevada test has been fired.
Atomic Annie is now at Fort Sill, Oklahoma after the 1950's deployment in Germany,
with one of her 280mm nuclear cousins - 'Sad Sack' - now in the Smithsonian.
How many are still on the Korean peninsula (?)
It's ON... Korea unifies in 3 to 5 years
It's OFF ...ww3 looms
It's a MAYBE ...they change the date, city or time
