I agree with oyarde. I wonder if we will get a run to $1700 soon. I really think the next stop looking at the chart is $1794 which is the October 2012 high.

There might be a major pullback, if the market doesn't think the Fed is going to print enough money to keep things afloat.

But, there's no chance that the Fed doesn't ultimately print enough to sustain the Dow, so there's that.

    That qualifies as a 'crash'.

London FTSE 100 will crash later. They have BP/Shell major listings.

Wonder if we will get a sell off like the other week when traders covered their positions and sold the gold futures.

However the genie is out of the bottle now and $1700 has been breached so we should get a run to $1794 at some point.

  16. #14
    Oil now $27.50, -32% !

Gold has sold off as I suspected. Will be interesting to see where it goes later...

The precious metal hit a low of $1,488 ounce early this morning and finished the day $100 higher at $1,588 ounce.

Silver is up, too, moving about 12% higher to $14 ounce.

The precious metals have had some help. Many gold producers, such as Newmont and Osisko Gold Royalties, have withdrawn 2020 guidance due to mine operation disruptions to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Pan American Silver Corp. (NASDAQ, TSX: PAAS), which last week temporarily suspended operations at four mines in Peru, has now curtailed operations in Argentina and Bolivia also as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company announced Monday.

Reuters reports that three of the world's largest gold refineries said today that they had suspended production in Switzerland for at least a week after local authorities ordered the closure of non-essential industry to curtail the spread of the virus.

It's practically impossible to get your hands on physical gold. When will this supply shock translate into prices?

I am wondering that too .The silver price is ridiculous even though it is industrial . Dow is on its way to three consec up days . Yesterday was the first two consec up days since Feb . Energy prices are ultra cheap which should help the economy / jobs recover assuming everyone is back to work by 4/13 as expected . Strange times.
