But that’s not why they are demanding asylum. It’s not what they are saying at all. They are saying they want jobs, even though US corporations have many manufacturing plants there. They are saying they want to escape violence, even though their behavior has proven to be violent.

And please notice, most of what you see are young men of fighting age. Very few children or women in any of the videos in proportion to the young men.

PS: I live across the street and down the street from people who were horribly persecuted in Egypt. Many people. These are people whose homes and churches were burned to the ground. I see none of that happening in Central or South America. Clearly things are not what they ought to be there, but they ar rich in natural resources and have means to live.

They see quinceanera as a major occasion when a girl becomes a woman in society. Other groups in society have similar "coming of age" celebrations too- "Sweet Sixteen" parties. Bar mitzvah. Prom. Celebrations can be simple or big as a wedding. If you don't have money, you have a smaller celebration. It may include a mass or church ceremony. Should you care how they choose to celebrate it? Or are you just disappointed to have never been invited to one? (I have been to a couple).
