Because Trump is a gift from God to buy a few more years for this country. The man is nothing short of brilliant so far (though, I'd prefer he didn't threaten people with border taxes). But on balance, the guy is quite awesome! Cutting internal taxes in half, cutting regulation by at least 75%, ending Obamacare scam and the TPP... What's not to like?

I point your attention that the same wide white building/structure across the width of the National Mall is seen in both photographs, showing the SAME stretch of the Mall from the water's edge to almost the base of the Washington Monument. Thus, though the angle is different, the area shown is pretty much the SAME, which serves my point perfectly.

where the camera faces the crowds head on and not from above so the white spaces are harder to see. But sure enough, when you look closely, there they are. It clearly wasn't packed even in that pic.

At Trump's inauguration white lawn cover was used as opposed to sand color used in 2009. Thus empty spots are less visible in 2009 photograph but they are definitely there, no less so than in 2017; in fact, probably more empty spots in the middle of the Mall in 2009.

Secondly, if you use the gigapixel photograph and zoom into the white spots, you will see that people are filled up right to the fences that are placed there. So they are empty not by choice of the crowd but by direction of the ushers.

So yes, it was PACKED.

And what's your basis for saying that they used an 8 am picture? That doesn't look like 8 am to me. It looks like the sun is reflecting off of the side of the Capitol building that faces the mall, which is the west side, meaning it would be late in the day.

Whichever exact hour it was, it was not the time of swearing in, but way before or way after it. That's the whole substance of the deception they pulled.
