Where are all the socialist food drives?

I don't see any in the city where I live. I thought they cared about the poor.

Meanwhile, the church I'm part of, I'm told, served 120,000 meals during covid. Not a whole lot of virtue signaling either. "By their deeds, ye shall know them."

that's a great point. don't you know socialists never do anything by their own hand. It's all by proxy because they ain't got no time for that.

Take your money.....then give it someone else to do it..... like School lunch programs and such.

It won't take very long to get them home but it won't be overnight either but Iraq says they can't stay and they are coming home just like Trump said.

Its funny that Jordan Peterson (who I love) inspired millions of young people by telling them to take on more responsibility, which used to be common sense and a very honorable thing to do. Meanwhile, AOC and the like inspired tens of millions of kids to believe their only responsibility is to vote for the right people........and riot once in a while.

Charity by individuals and private organizations is selfish.

Compassion doesn't count unless it's manifested as expressions of the collective will.

That this relieves collectivists of any responsibility to actually do anything themselves is, of course, entirely incidental and irrelevant - as are the questions of (1) whether anything is actually accomplished by the aforementioned expressions of the collective will, and (2) whether the ostensible objectives of such expressions could be better achieved by other means. (Of course, only the most vile, despicable and cold-hearted of obnoxious boors would ever even mention such things.)

Socialists tend not to believe in charity. They see charity existing as a failure of government. That is at least part of the reason why European countries give less money and volunteer less time than people in the United States.

I don't believe in charities,” said Mayor Sanders, bringing a shocked silence to a packed hotel banquet room. The Mayor, who is a Socialist, went on to question the “fundamental concepts on which charities are based” and contended that government, rather than charity organizations, should take over responsibility for social programs.

Thanks, I had a feeling he was this type of person, but no evidence.

This reminds me of something that I witnessed about 10 years ago. When I was working in an R&D laboratory under a socialist French boss, we had a black janitor, probably on work release or something, cleaning up a few times a week. He wasn't making much money doing it, but he sucked at his job, so it was probably a fair deal. He looked like he came from some bad circumstances, had a rough life, but was a nice enough guy regardless. Anyways, Christmas rolled around and we all chipped in $5 each as a gift for him to buy something nice for himself or his kids. I told my French boss and asked if he would like to contribute. He told me, "No!" He said it in such a way that I felt he was a little disgusted that we would do something like that. All the lab people and Mexican plant workers looked at each other like, "WTF is wrong with this guy?" LOL. Sometime later, the French boss told me he thought communism was a good idea, but......(I don't remember what he said after that, not that it matters).

Now that I'm going down memory lane, I also remember receiving a chain email floating around our company in 2010 (during the recession) that the government could revive the economy very easily by giving every American money to buy a new house. I hate thinking that the Average Joe is an idiot, but I don't really see a whole lot of evidence to the contrary.

    Voluntary food drives?

That would defeat the whole purpose of socialism.

See Bernie Sanders' take here, from back when he was a mayor who much more openly called himself a socialist.

Socialism never ends with "everyone being rich", but rather "everyone starving to death".

Capitalism is everyone has Equal Opportunity.
Socialism is everyone has Equal Outcome.

The major difference between the two is that with Equal Outcome, it does not matter how hard you work or how intelligent you are, you are rewarded the same as everyone else who does not try. But you cant exactly blame others for not trying if all of the fruits of your labors are taken from you and distributed to everyone else who has the ability to produce yet produce nothing. The only outcome is Starvation *cough* Stalin...
