Supermarket operator Albertsons Companies said on Saturday it would ask customers not to openly carry firearms at its stores, joining an array of retailers and store chains this week who changed their gun policy in light of several mass shootings in the United States.

The fact that I don't shop at big retailers makes this boycott thing kinda hard. I don't shop at a single Albertsons Company store.

That's great and for the most part I do too. However, they own other things other than grocery stores.

Albertsons — which operates the grocery chains Vons, Pavilions and Safeway as well as its namesake grocery stores — said it’s acquiring the part of Rite Aid that isn’t being sold to Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. under a previously announced deal. Albertsons would get slightly more than half of Rite Aid’s retail locations, plus additional Rite Aid assets such as its pharmacy benefit company and its wellness/loyalty program.

Most of those retailers aren't around here. And those that are I do not shop at.
