Imagine if Kanye West and Candace Owens were Jewish. Candace Owens: "You should stop talking about the holocaust. You weren't in the holocaust. That was your grandparents." Kanye West: "Six million Jews? Six MILLION? That sounds like a choice!"

Yes, we should never stop talking about the holocaust either. Because the Jews are still clearly living with the consequences.

How quickly do you think Kanye and Candace would be denounced by the same GOP that is embracing them if they said that? Kanye got attacked back in 2013 simply for saying Jewish people have a lot of money. His response was funny and classic Kanye.

    https://pitchfork.com/news/53411-kan...nt-compliment/
Kanye West was recently subject to criticism from the Anti-Defamation League, who accused him of anti-Semitism after comments in a radio interview. In the interview, Kanye said "Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people." The Anti-Defamation League called it "classic anti-Semitism," adding "There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government."
    .
    .
    .
Now, Kanye has responded to these accusations in conversation with Chicago radio station B96 (via Radio.com). He called the comment an "ignorant compliment" and said it was misconstrued. "I don’t know how being told that you have money is like an insult," Kanye said. "That would be like if somebody complimented black guys and said, ‘All black guys have big penises.’ You don’t want to be the black guy who raises his hand and says like, ‘That’s not true. I have proof!’"

Edit: Anyway, I don't begrudge the Jews talking about the holocaust. This part usually gets left out when talking about it in public.

That said, it's part of their history. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Did Candace Owens say folks should stop talking about slavery? I'm not sure if I missed something here because I'd never heard of Candice Owens until this thread.

LOL. And that just shows how much of a circus all of this is. The latest round of "let's look at Kanye" began with him retweeting a video where Candace Owens was arguing with some BLM protestors. I will agree with her that BLM as a movement is reprehensible because they have conflated real issues of police brutality with their socialist agenda. Put her direct put of them in this particular instance was "You want to talk about slavery. You want to talk about Jim Crowe. That happened to your grandparents before you were born. You're privileged Americans." (I'm paraphrasing). Kanye tweeted back "I like how she thinks." Folks started dissing Kanye, but some black celebrities like Chance the Rapper came back with "Blacks don't have to be democrats." All that went out the window with Kanye's "400 years of slavery sounds like a choice" comment. Kanye did his best to explain that by misquoting Harriet Tubman and talking about what he would have done if he had been around during the Nat Turner rebellion. It's gotten crazier sense then. Oh, and Kanye admitted recently that he's been addicted to opioids and has mental health issues.

Ah, I haven't been following the news and really couldn't care less about Kanye.

I hate to admit it but Obama's right about one thing...

    Regarding the op...

I get what he's saying but I think he needs to take his own advice.

To truly think freely is to truly understand both sides.
I'm conservative. I didn't realize I thought that way. vvv

The most racist part in all of this discussion is conservatives’ assumption that most black people are feebleminded lemmings whose dunderheaded thoughts must be the result of low IQ and brainwashing because, according to their logic, conservative white people know best.
I actually sympathize with a lot of what the op is saying BUT it's crap like ^^^ that irritates the $#@! out of me.

Just a couple of thoughts on the subject and then I am quite done with attempting to understand what ______ celebrity thinks about a given topic for the foreseeable future:

    1. Kanye West is an idiot. Not too surprising as he is probably drugged and let's be honest, that family coupled with tabloid press would drive anyone a little bat$#@! crazy. He is not a spokesman for anyone.

    2. Michael Harriot is an idiot. He has apparently successfully made his (and made up his) career as a commentator on race relations (aka wypipologist). That there is demand in this country shows how far the race baiting, promoters of socialistic state violence have come. I am quite sure if I were a self-certified blackpipologist, this whore of a man would be on CNN incessantly whining about the injustices and ignorance of a white person claiming knowledge of black culture, history, and thought. Yet as it stands, he is promoted by the media, though clearly having no special knowledge about how white people as a whole think, white culture, or anything of the sort. As said, he is a cheap whore for the state and a pawn in a larger game.

    3. At a certain point in time you have to take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Were blacks systematically oppressed in the United States? Yes. Of course. Does that justify not taking responsibility for yourself and community?

I wonder, what music is BET promoting these days? Who does Charlamagne Tha God have on his radio show? What does WorldStarHiphop promote?

No bull$#@!, this was the very first video on WSHH:

    It is ridiculous.

I'll be perfectly frank: Michael Harriot might want to spend more time trying to understand why there is a culture of victimhood and a forced ghetto mentality promoted by many rich black celebrities and the power elite as a whole and why Al Sharpton only visits the hood to siphon money from it, and less time studying white people, who by and large have never heard of him and do not give two $#@!s about what black people do.

    He is a slave.
