    We've noticed you're adblocking.

    in linux terminal:

    sudo apt-get install w3m

    w3m -dump http://somenewsitethatcansuckitslowly.com

    >>> full text, no paywalls, no adblock bans

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

I usually just hit the back button and find a different source. If the content is so original and worth reading that I cant find it elsewhere, then I don't mind turning off the adblocker temporarily to read the content, then reenable it.

If you use Firefox, try using uBlock Origin. Its got a ton of great features which include both Resource Blocking from Advertisers and Trackers (holy $#@! there are so many), and blocking a lot of different types of scripts, such as First Party, Third Party, and Inline Scripts.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ublock-origin/

Im aware that some of the tech terms may confuse people, so I'll explain how they differ briefly.

First Party Script - A script that is loaded as a file, like an image is usually its own file. For example: www.a.com/script.js

Third Party Script - A script that is loaded as a file from a site different than what youre visiting. For example, you go to www.a.com to read news and a file is loaded from www.advertisertracker.com/ads.js

Inline Script - A script that is defined in the webpage you are looking at, sometimes in the header of a webpage, other times they are defined in HTML code. For example, a standard web link might look like this: <a href="page2.html">Link</a> which is where an Inline Script can be placed. An inline script might look like this: <a href="page2.html" onclick="return confirm('Are you sure?')">Script Link</a>

You may experience some trouble with breaking websites if you block all Third Party Scripts. This is because making the internet faster has required specialized services for handling high volumes of big files. These services are called Content Delivery Networks, and are usually identified as CDN somewhere in the urls. For example, if Ron Paul Forums used a CDN, you might see some parts of the site being loaded from www.rpfcdn.com which would stand for Ron Paul Forums Content Delivery Network. Those sites you can say are fine to load external resources from, but usually only for Ron Paul Forums. If you went to www.smudge.com, you would not want scripts (images would probably be fine) to run from www.rpfcdn.com.
