Dannno could be all in on a six pack of craft beer for me . I can tell AF how good it was . This is what Dannno has to do to retain my consulting for the Apocalypse and help for him to escape california once CalExit is complete and total marxism is implemented .

Also, you guys should run for office yourselves if you think I'm not libertarian enough. That's what I don't understand about libertarians. They criticize other libertarians for not being pure enough but never actually step up and run for office themselves.

Really, it's more productive for people to just run for office themselves than to just criticize. How many people on this forum have actually run for office? Me and Gunny? Why is that? Why can't Danno run for office where he lives? For county commissioner, for the state legislature, state senate, etc? Sure, there are people on this forum who are more pure or more hardcore libertarian than I am, so why don't they run for office and promote the cause of liberty?

Some people have better opportunities than others, but those who don't run for whatever reason shouldn't be the first to throw stones.

I support your race, I just don't know if it is THE ONE race I wanna support the most, but the fact that I don't know means there's a decent chance.

Edit: I really hope the above sentence doesn't get taken out of context.

I'm actually one of the last people who would ever throw a liberty supporter under the bus tho.

Fair enough. Is anyone else on this forum running for office?

They're probably trying to hide from all the friendly fire. Gunny would have gotten more support at RedState.

I'm thinking about running for a position in the Diversity and Inclusion Council. I think my first act would to appoint Oyarde to serve our meetings with coffee and donuts.

Thomas Massie was one of us back in the 2007 days. Adam Kokesh ran for the House in 2012, and is running for President now. Laura Ebke is running for her second term, this time as a Libertarian. There were more, too. Didn't Michael Landon run for something? Bruehound ran a couple times before 2007....there were a lot of us.

Rand Paul isn't Libertarian enough for some of us.

I don't have the energy or the charisma to run. Mad props to all who do.

I don't either, but I'm just forcing myself to do it anyway.

I forgot that Thomas Massie used to post here.

Here's an update on my campaign.

The current Representative, Representative Lewis, filed to run for reelection a few days ago. So I'll be running against him in the GOP Primary. The primary date is August 7th. There were also two Democrats who filed to run in our district. This is very rare as we don't usually have a Democrat who files to run in our district, let alone two. If I win the primary I'll have a very good chance to win the general election, but I'll still have to work hard and won't take anything for granted.

In order to win the primary I'm going to need as much help as possible. I'd appreciate the support of people here. I believe I'm currently the only member of this forum who's running for a public office. If a money bomb could be set up for late June or early July I'd appreciate it. Even if you can only donate small amounts, even small amounts help.

The only thing I've run for is precinct delegate. It was a contested race and a lot more work than I expected. Thanks a lot for running--I'm sure it's a big sacrifice for yourself and your family. I hope everyone here will back you if you win today.

At least you tried, better luck next time.

Dannno and AF will have to settle their bet some other way.

I certainly thought my campaign would go much better than that. I knocked on every door twice, except for the houses in the country. I can't see anything I could've done differently. I certainly appreciate the support that everyone here gave me. I may still consider running for office in the future. We'll see.

Absolutely no regrets, you knocked on every door twice, that is amazing itself. Don't get knocked down, try again, perhaps another position this time and build your name.

Were there any slate mailers going out from the party? That could probably be why. Aside from knocking on doors, people have to talk about you too and there needs to be some local news buzz somehow.

Anyways, great effort. Keep it up!

Good effort. Incumbents rarely lose. Human nature to just go with the status quo, plus ignorant voters just go with the name they have heard before.

If the incumbent retires, you’ll have more name recognition.

The only mailers that went out were from outside groups, both for and against my opponent, and also my opponent put out mailers. I mostly ran radio ads rather than putting out mailers. I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not. Maybe people don't listen to the radio anymore.
